I usually stay at the Hampton Inn next to Sharkey's when I'm in town for business. I love having cold beer and excellent food in walking distance, especially in winter months. The cheesesteaks and quesadillas are always a hit and the wings are easily 10/10. Sharkey's Cafe is more of a casual locals spot but still has nice a nice bar and lots of tables with Pool tables separated from the dining area. If you're looking for something more formal the Sharkey's Pier is connected and offers a more upscale experience. Highly recommend Sharkey's! read more

Every time I give this place a chance, it's a huge letdown. The service is mediocre, the waitstaff/hostess can't be bothered to do their jobs because talking in the pass through at the bar is more important. When I dine in, the food takes forever and the orders are always wrong or missing something. Expediting isn't hard you know. We recently had to go here for the local high schools volleyball dinner, after senior night. There wasn't enough food for everyone and the guy running around couldn't be bothered to refill any of the items. 1 slice of pizza, 2 cold french fries and a bowl of lettuce for $20 a person? Awesome. The last two take-out experiences I've had have been pretty disappointing. Food not cooked to order, missing toppings and side items and then they want you to drive back and pickup a gift card, because that solves dinner when you have a hungry family that was slightly hopeful things had changed here. The last straw was ordering a burger and fries; no fries, lettuce that should have been thrown out and bacon that wasn't even close to cooked. The only effort to fix it was a gift card. Can't say the food here was anything to rave about but it was OK and did serve the purpose when in the area and looking for something different. I realize restaurants are struggling with 50% occupancy but... we stood at hostess desk for 15mins or so waiting for someone to recognize us and tell us about the wait - and we did expect to wait for a table. instead we got a 'dining room is full', no offer to wait, no guess on the wait time. And off they went to whatever they were doing behind the counter. You need to train the host staff better than that! Not how you entice customers to come back now or once restaurants fully open. read more

Came here for dinner as I was staying at the hotel next door. Had a great experience. Sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive. I had the blackened chicken tacos. 3 large tacos came with the order and they were delicious, filled with a lot of chicken. Also had a side salade which was better than what you get at most places. They also had keno and derby cash you could play, which was another plus. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in town. read more

We recently returned to Sharky's on our most recent visit to my wife's side of the family. Much like before, the food was very good and offered in oversized portions (plan on a doggie bag coming home.) What really impressed me this time was the service - absolutely wonderful. Our server (I wish I could remember his name) was very attentive, very efficient, and chatty just like my wife and I like them. He did a great job. Hmmm this is a strange one for me I think. Having grown up in the Greensburg/Latrobe area I had gone to Sharky's Cafe quite a bit and honestly hated it. (This is waaay before Yelp mind you, even most cell phones actually, lol) Poor service, bad food, drinks and bar tenders, loud, obnoxious and annoying people, way overcrowded. Again this was many moons ago and I'm not basing the review on any of that. Now on to modern times! Recently I was back in town from Colorado visiting friends and family and had lunch here with my uncle. This was a Friday afternoon so I can't rate on how the weeknights are or the weekends. I honestly didn't have high expectations and a little hesitant on coming here for lunch. Place was clean and adhering to the social distancing. Weren't many people there. Few at the bar and a handful of tables with people. The outside area looked like it was doing well since it was a nice day out. Ended up being surprised though. Service was pretty good. Wish I could remember the woman's name that sat us and waited on our table. She checked on us regularly and quick with refills. Orders came out fast. We just had sandwiches and soup but both were pretty good. I had the club sandwich and enjoyed it. Bacon was cooked and not that rubbery like a gum band texture. Meats weren't that weird sweaty, slimy type of lunch meats I've see. In some places. Wedding soup was pretty good and fries were done right. Not greasy or soft and mushy. Seasoned well also. My Uncles steak sandwich looked good. Steak wasn't a pile of grease and soggy bread. All in all it was a pretty good experience and could say that they have earned a customers business back from that. I would come back next time I'm in town. read more

Brought the family here for lunch today while were out shopping. The lunch atmosphere is really nice. Beautiful view from the window side tables. The tables were well organized to avoid a crowded feeling. The wait staff was very friendly and professional. I found the food slightly above average both in quality and price for this type of establishment. All things considered, the price was probably just about right for the value. But it was the soggy overpriced fries and the rotten smelling coleslaw on the fish tacos that got me. There seemed to be a great lack of freshness due to a great lack of care in the kitchen. The elderly next to me didn't seem too excited about their food either.. I took my family - they had a basic but good kids menu. I got the mexican salad. The ranch dressing wasn't homemade. For typical bar food, this place wasn't terrible. But it wasn't great either. Perfect portion the dressing was wonderful and the service was terrific. My wife had regular grilled chicken salad,it was huge! More importantly it was very tasty. We get delivery from here all the time, especially during the colder months. It is usually very prompt and accurate. The "chefs specials" are usually what we end up with for the sake of variety, and that we like to try new things. Tonight, was a Mediterranean cod with spinach and tomatoes. It was so OUTSTANDING, that I hope that they add it to their regular menu. It was perfectly cooked, and as good as any that I've ever had. We started with a miscommunication with our order. The manager apologized and delivered the food to us himdelf at no charge. I have to say the cajun shrimp salad with roasted potatoes is the best salad I have had in a long time. My son truly enjoyed the ravioli. We will definitely be back when we are in Latrobe again. Brought kids here today with orders of 4 cut pizza and 10 0z burger and steak salad. Oh and of course an adult beverage of Sam Adams Summer Ale. Service was pleasant and our waiter Tyler was efficient. Kids played air hockey while mom enjoyed her drink. Lots of TVs to allow for a great experience! The only issue was a 4 cut pizza was 9.99? This review is for their delivery service. I was in Latrobe for a 90th Bday party staying in a hotel about 1/2 mile away. I looked online to see who delivered food and found Sharky's own ordering website. I ordered twice the week that I was in Latrobe, and both times delivery was quick, hot, and the driver brought it the whole way to my hotel room door which I truly appreciated. Food was good. They should ask local hotels to put their menus in the rooms. read more
