My friends and I were next door at The Mixx and wanted to grab dinner, and saw that we could order for delivery from here. We were pumped about that, so one of the male members of our group called to place an order. The phone was answered by a male, who told our friend they did not deliver (despite the QR code and advertising at The Mixx). No problem, we decided we could just walk down and pick up our order. So he ordered his. I take a look at the menu and then I (a female) call, literally three minutes later, to place a carry out order. The man who answers the phone tells me that they don't accept carry out orders over the phone and I would have to order online or come in to place the carry out. Umm... okay. My male friend LITERALLY just placed one three minutes earlier but I'm not about to deal with the argument, so I go online to order. Unfortunately, their online platform is not updated, and an item I wanted to order when looking at the menu on their website was not available on the platform that I had to utilize to do a place out order. So, I was gonna need to call back. I handed the phone instead to my male friend, however, who called to place a carry out order and was indeed invited to proceed. I placed my order through my male friend, and was told it would be 15-20 minutes. I walked down at the 20 minute mark, and told someone my name for my order. About 5 minutes later, the unfriendly male bartender asked me again for my name and I provided it. He asked if I was with the other group of people who were there also waiting for their order, and I said yes but my order is separate (they ordered before me and one member of the group also had not gotten their order). He seemed confused which is never a good sign and went back to the kitchen. About 8-10 minutes later, we were both given our orders. I got a pizza and 3 other items. When I got to my destination to eat it, I realized that all 3 items were wrong. We ordered chips/salsa, texas fries, and pickle chips. We were provided a club sandwich, Buffalo shrimp, and Buffalo wings. Not even close. As we had already left the area, I was not going to return to get the correct order. It is really, really unfortunate that the male staff won't take carry out orders from women over the phone and that they can't get their carry out order correct because the food is honestly really good, and reasonably priced. If the service wasn't so bad, this could be a 4 or 5 star based on food taste and cost.

Sharky's is a fun spot to watch a game, play darts, play pool or just to hang out. We stopped in to grab dinner and watch football, it was the BLT with fries for me and the Big Ole Club with chips for my husband. It was more spacious than I thought and the service was great so I'd return.

Gumbo, baby! So good here.

I eat here once a week and it's delicious. Gumbo is life. Bud said! The staff is excellent. Run very well.

Onion rings

Worst kind of onion rings I've seen/had in my life. The wings were kind of small and the lemon pepper and garlic Parmesan were way too salty.

Fun & quaint "dive bar"! Food & service were both good. They seem to often have fun events / games available (did not play while there).

We started with the crispy jumbo Thai wings. They were really good and flavored perfectly. I loved the Thai sauce they were coated in. The venison bolognese is a star. I didn't have to add anything to it. I mixed all the ingredients together and let the whipped ricotta coat all over the rigatoni pasta and dove in. Absolutely perfect dish. We also tried to braised beef short rib. It braised beef was tender but we did need to add a little salt and pepper to add flavor to the dish. The restaurant was busy but our server was great and attentive.

Since we visited during lunch, there weren't many options available. I had looked at the menu online beforehand and was excited to try the cheesesteak, only to find out it was no longer offered. That was a letdown. We ordered the Smashburger, Shrimp and Grits, Steak Frites with chimichurri, and the Crispy Jumbo Thai Wings. The fries were decent--not too salty, not greasy, and cooked just right. The Smashburger was a bit too large for me since it came with double patties. The fire-grilled sourdough was just okay, but the sun-dried tomato pimiento cheese spread was delicious. My favorite dish was definitely the Crispy Jumbo Thai Wings. They were perfectly crispy, and the flavors were incredible--they really danced on your palate. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but I felt it was overpriced for what was offered. While everything was enjoyable, none of the dishes, aside from the wings, were particularly memorable. I left feeling that the experience didn't quite justify the cost.

The ONLY downside of this establishment was the Espresso Martini…read more Everything else was PERFECT. From the parking (and the sweet attendant who took my 30 singles--thanks to my hubby for my cash) to the BEST bar food I've ever had (and that's only after one beer so it wasn't drunk dining) this experience was the best I've had at a restaurant in a long time. We visited for the Noah Kahan concert and I'm fairly certain numbers were up for Orange Juice sales in the Raleigh area due to the Local and their signature drinks. We waited about 2 hours but it was worth it and I'm dreaming about the Brussels sprouts today! My daughter even said she wasn't hungry but it all tasted so good. We struggled a little at the bar to get served but this old bat hasn't been out with young-ins in a while and busting in no longer comes naturally when you are 46 :) We loved Griffin our server who had my hockey loving daughter finding his Doppelgänger on IG and it was his birthday and he was working hard. I'd HIGHLY recommend going to The Local when there is or isn't an event at Lenovo or Carter Finley. The ease of the waitlist, patio space and clean bathrooms were just added bonuses--we will be back. Well at least I will!

NC State and Carolina Hurricanes regalia. Huge television set up sure to satisfy any sports fan. Plenty of quality seating. We arrived for a late lunch in the middle of a thunderstorm so there weren't many people there. We were quickly seated by the host and greeted by our server. Just so you know, the water glasses are pretty small. So if you're a water lover, you'll be getting plenty of refills. The menu isn't extensive but they offer something for every taste. My wife got the Capris chicken sandwich with fries. daughter got the blackened salmon with dirty rice and I got the slider special with fries. All parties loved their food. All plates were cleaned . Fries are lightly seasoned. No salt or pepper on the tables so be prepared to ask if you want it. Server checked on us several times during the meal. This would be a fun place to watch sporting events. This is also the place several sports celebrities do their podcast from. We will definitely be back.

I had the flounder tacos, which were fresh, flavorful, beautifully seasoned but not hot or overly spicy and included fresh corn, slaw and magic. My husband had a summer vegetable risotto with pan seared salmon and he raved about it. We each had the classic old fashioned with the restaurant's signature bourbon and we shared an exquisite peach and bourbon bread pudding for dessert which was surprisingly light, but a large enough portion for us to take some home in a to-go box. The vibe is beautiful. The owner Hali stopped by to chat with us and the host, John, was a pure delight. Relaxing evening, great ambiance and service and delicious food. If it's a beautiful day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside instead. Still, the inside has a cozy, laid-back feel that works well. Shoutout to Qua, who was both the hostess and our server. She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.
