If I could give 2 and a half stars I would. This place has the potential to be an amazing barber shop, but the lack of attention to detail really hurts them. The experience is very professional. They accept cards so I don't have to go to an ATM and they have a very nice waiting room. I've been twice with no appointment and haven't had to wait more than 15 minutes for a cut. Both haircuts I got were great...except they were uneven. Both times I pointed this out to my barber and they kind of evened it out, but not completely. The first time, I got a fade and the right side of the fade was lower then the left side. The second time I went, the barber barely did the kind of fade I wanted, despite showing him a picture twice, and he didn't cut the back of my head correctly at all. The top left side of the back has a lot of hair, while the rest of it is shaved. The barbers are really good and I think if they paid more attention, these issues could have been avoided. The first time, the barber was on the phone for a good amount of time, and even left for a few minutes half way through the haircut. The second time (different barber), he was on the phone for a bit then spent the rest of the time talking to an employee seated next to him. This happens at other barbershops I go to, but the barbers still manage to pay attention and deliver an even cut. Not here. read more

I visited this place several months ago and forgot to write a review but it was so bad I still must share. I had been in another store in the shopping center and decided to stop in and ask how much it would be to clean up my neck. I keep my hair cut in a bob and can't stand for any new growth to be on my neck! Anyway, I went in and was greeted by the male receptionist and a couple of the staff. There were two male barbers and one female. I asked how much the service would be and the female told me (with an attitude) "That's a haircut.". Really? Full priced haircut just to get my neck shaved?! Then as I was about to leave one of the male barbers reduced the price for me so I decided to go ahead and do it even though it was still a ridiculous amount. I just needed it done. I don't remember his name but he was super nice! While I was in the chair the receptionist had walked over to the gas station to get coffee so I had to wait around to pay. While I was waiting the female stylist kept asking me questions like, "so where do you normally go for your haircuts? What's the girls name that does it?" After my attempt at friendly conversation and telling her about my hair stylist she replied, "yea you should stick with her.." What? Who the hell says that to a potential client?! I felt so uncomfortable the whole time I waited for the front desk guy to come back. She seemed like she had an issue with me the moment I walked in the door. When the receptionist finally got back I paid and got the hell out of there! Over $20 for my damn neck to get shaved when just the other day I paid $3 at another shop. Clean, professional looking shop, but the barbers are hit or miss. If youre lucky to get a good barber there, get his PERSONAL business card. There's no minimum skills requirement when they hire barbers. They will not hesitate to have the receptionist with zero experience cut your hair if its convenient for them. read more

I've been taking my sons to this barbershop for six months, but unfortunately we'll have to find a new barbershop. While we initially enjoyed going to Sharp Line Cuts, I've noticed that they have a high turnover rate. If you have small children, you already understand the hassles involved in getting them accustomed to a barber; however, when a different barber cuts their hair each time, it's hard to get them to a comfort level to sit still. They have wonderful customer service and they meet appointment windows 70 percent of the time, but I weigh consistency over anything else, and when your hair is being cut by someone different each time, it's usually a hit or miss. read more

One word to describe this place is... Professionalism. Frank is the owner of the shop and he treats all of his customers well. He really tries to understand what you want and incorporates that into cutting your hair. Walk-ins are welcome but I recommend making an appointment especially over the weekend because they're always booked (another way you could tell a place is good). They are a little out of the way for me, but it was worth the drive! Thomas did a great job with my boys' superfine hair!! He was patient and reassuring with them, which is a great help because we don't do barbershop haircuts regularly. After seeing what Thomas can do, which far exceeds my amateur barbering skills, we will be coming back! It's best to make an appointment, but they are prompt and quick, not like the regular walk-in barbershops where you have to wait 30-40 mins. I am definitely a fan and will be returning!! read more

Unprofessional . AVIOD AT ALL COST,TOO pricey for the awful service and haircut !. I had made an appointment with the owner of the store due to the fact that every single time I have went to get my haircut , they did an awful job and he also had good reviews on yelp. I arrived at the time of my appointment when someone was in the seat about to start receiving a haircut . I had even called earlier to make sure we were in the clear about the time of my appointment after about 40 mins which then made me cancel my appointment for the evening . Tried out this shop as a new place to get my hair cut, I'm not super picky about my hair. Overall it is overpriced for what it is. You get a cut and a shampoo for 26, I usually would pay about 15 for a cut and can wash my own hair. Frank seemed more interested in talking to his friends who walked in and like my hair was more in the way of his social time than his focus. He took multiple phone calls while cutting my hair and even paused to dual his cell phone to chat with a friend. Needless to say I will not be going back here. read more

One eventually said he could cut one of our heads after asking the other if he was cutting. This one said "Naw, I'm not cutting right now." I informed him that both of my son and I needed haircuts. I have been to this barber shop 4 times. On the first 2 occasions my hair was cut by a very pleasant young man, who unfortunately had not been trained properly and did not know how to cut. On my 3rd visit I was passed to a lady who I don't believe has ever had any kind of training and had no idea what she was doing. This Sunday I was desperate for a cut and my usual place was closed so I went back. I was told to come at 3.30pm by the receptionist, I was then called back and told 4.30pm. When I arrived I was placed in an empty chair between 2 barbers and then much to my surprise the receptionist cut my hair. She was a very nice, friendly girl but the cut was amateurish, I was charged the full rate and not a trainee rate. I will never go back. I am sure there are people there who do a good job, but I have yet to meet one! read more

A good black barbershop is hard to find. Sharp Line is not a terrible shop, but I had a TERRIBLE experience. THE GOOD: The shop is clean & stylish with great music and appropriate TV programs. It is full of clients of diverse races & ages. Their cuts look great, and they don't bog you down with small talk or uncomfortable conversations (i.e. Politics). I walked in and asked the receptionist how long the wait would be for a shave/goatee trim. She said 10 to 15 minutes. After 3 minutes, the barber, Randy, walked in. I sat in his chair. That's when everything took a TERRIBLE turn. THE BAD: I have shoulder length dreads, freshly twisted, so it was obvious that I was only there for my facial hair. After I briefly explained what I wanted done, The barber mumbled, "Lift ya heh up." I heard, "lift your head up." So I tilted my chin up a bit. He said this the EXACT SAME WAY about 3 more times. Finally, with my head tilted nearly toward the sky, I said "I don't know what you're asking me to do." With other barbers and clients laughing, he said,"Lift your heh up", touching my dreads. "Oh, my HAIR? Couldn't you move it?" He replied, "Some people are funny about that." Well, now I'm irritated, but I figured I'd take the misunderstanding in stride. The trim with the electric shaver was fine. THE UGLY: Then came the straight razor. I'm waiting for a warm lather, oil, gel...anything. I got NOTHING. A completely dry shave. I could feel my skin suffering with each stroke. He spun the chair back and forth so quickly I got dizzy. Then I start bleeding. I say, "is that blood?" He says, "yeah, your skin is dry. You should put some alcohol on it when you get home." I'm thinking, "No sh**?? You just gave me a dry shave!!" When he sat my chair back up, my hair got caught in the retractable headrest...he didn't notice. Then he recklessly slaps me with astringent and sends me on my way. I suppose it was no coincidence that his next client had just arrived (clearly an appointment). The trim itself looked nice, so I'll give him that. But my face felt AWFUL. I chose this shop because I remembered the good work they've done in the past. This experience makes me wonder if I'll ever return. If you don't have time for decent customer service, you don't need to be taking walk-in clients. read more

With the price being so high that is the only reason I don't go back anymore. My current go to place to getting a haircut in ashburn. Jami gave me a solid cut, nice fade and clean line. The one thing this place has going for it is that all the barbers speak English! Would have preferred different music choices and the TVs were a bit distracting. Free wifi is such a great thing when you have to wait for anything. After waiting for 25 minutes (1st appointment) we had to leave and no apologies were given. I have to say, when I discovered Sharp Line a few months ago after just recently moving to Ashburn, I was excited. My first few visits were great and my barber seemed to really get it. I usually tip much higher due to my respect for the profession and he really earned it with the great job he did. But sadly, recently things have changed. My appointment before last he was absent for my appointment and had not called to let me know he would not be there. Another barber, graciously stepped in to do my cut. At my last appointment, I waited for several minutes for my barber to acknowledge I had arrived because he was in the back talking to fellow barbers about non-business topics and had an empty chair. He did not apologize for his absence on the previous visit nor did he apologize for being late to start my most recent appointment. I usually allow for 3 chances, so I'm hoping things improve greatly. Until then, I'll be keeping my eye open for alternatives. Customer service is just as important to me as a great cut. read more
