I waited a few months before posting this because I wanted to be fair, but my experience with this plumbing company was extremely disappointing and very similar to what many other reviewers have described. I contacted them about a leak under my toilet. They sent a technician within a couple of days. He was polite, but it was obvious he relied heavily on his supervisor for guidance. In addition to the toilet leak, I asked for a quote to replace our water main shutoff valve, which wasn't working. They quoted $5,000 to fix the toilet leak due to an issue with the flange. Work began around 8 AM on Friday. By noon, the technician said there were complications but believed he could handle them. By 5 PM, he told us he couldn't finish the job and that it would have to wait until Monday. We have one bathroom, and now we had no working toilet. We had no choice but to get a hotel for the entire weekend. On Monday, an older plumber arrived and completed the job in just over an hour. When I called the supervisor to request a discount--given that we had to spend hundreds of dollars on a hotel because their technician left us without a functioning bathroom--he refused. He said the only way they would offer any discount was if we hired them for additional work. They also quoted $5,400 to replace the water main shutoff valve. I got a second opinion, and the new plumber told me that in many towns the shutoff valve is replaced by the town because it's on the street side of the meter. I contacted the town, and they replaced it for $140. This company consistently overcharges and shows no interest in helping customers--only in upselling and maximizing profit. That raised concerns, so I did some research and spoke with other plumbers. For context, my system uses a standard 45-gallon HTP indirect water heater, and comparable units are widely available for homeowners to purchase, typically in the $2,000-$3,000 range. I followed up in writing to confirm what I had been told, but instead of a direct clarification, I received a general explanation of flat-rate pricing that didn't address the specific points. In the end, I worked with another licensed plumber and was able to close the permits at a significantly lower cost. I understand that pricing can vary, but the lack of transparency and the inconsistency in what was communicated made this experience difficult to trust. I wish I could give them zero stars. Sharp Plumbing and Heating charged me $192.97 just to look at my shower. They then quoted me a staggering $3,350 for a simple shower cartridge replacement. When I realized how inflated the price was and asked for a refund, they refused. I ended up hiring a different plumber who did the entire job perfectly for under $200. Sharp Plumbing's business model seems to be holding people hostage with high diagnostic fees and then quoting predatory prices hoping you won't know any better. Absolutely shameful. read more

The technician came out to evaluate a water leak from the bathroom into the kitchen ceiling. He was polite and cut an observation hole behind the shower in the sheetrock. He could find no water leak and his supervisor,simply by phone, said it is most likely a cracked tub and suggested we change the tub and shower for $8000. We paid a down payment but something did not feel right so a mold remediator was called in. With a moisture meter he found extreme moisture in the shower wall and the tile floor near the tub. He said a caulking leak was the source of the water dripping into the ceiling below. He temporarily caulked around the tub and tile wall and the water leak stopped. He told us that there was very likely mold in the wall and if the plumber had simply torn out the shower tile to install the tub he would have spread mold spores throughout the house. While Sharp plumbing may be excellent plumbers they did an incompetent and potentially dangerous job in diagnosing this water leak and I would suggest that others hesitate before hiring them for water leak evaluation. read more

These guys are the absolute best. I had an ongoing issue with a tankless heater (3 plus years of problems.) I had the same company service it each time, insisting the problem was solved, only for another to show up later. They said it was my pipes, the shower unit, the heat sensor, etc...None of the repairs worked for long and the unit stopped working. After literally 20 min, the tech from Sharp found the problem, got on the phone with the manufacturer and had a solution. It took these guys about 10 min to diagnose the problem. The issue was major, so I wound up having Sharp replace the unit. They came THE NEXT DAY and replaced it...which was the day before Thanksgiving. Don't hesitate to work with them! They are an honest and trustworthy company. I won't work with anyone else moving forward. read more

Had a bit of a plumbing emergency yesterday. Hopped online and found Sharp Plumbing at the top of a google search. Saw their 4.9 rating and made the call. Leo was dispatched and arrived within an hour. He was very polite and knowledgeable. We had the rest of our plumbing looked at while he was at our home. He provided some options and we had a few other jobs performed for peace of mind. Leo had us taken care of within a few hours. We're booking him again when we pick out a new kitchen faucet within the next week or two. Extremely happy with the service provided and the associated costs. I called sharp plumbing and heating to look at my basement French drain perforated drainage, line. The two guys that Sharp sent were terrific, thoughtful, smart, friendly, experienced. And very very helpful. Sharp has a minimum fee of $99. If you do not want to go ahead with the service they could provide while the guys that sharp sent or terrific sharp plumbing, and heating itself seems to be a very highly organized, marketing machine there a standard fee for cleaning out a 30 foot sump pump line was $700. For that kind of money I can go to Taylor rental and rent a snake and do the job myself which I decided to do so the shark people were terrific but I have my doubts about the companies fee structure. read more

There Van's are driving around advertising Plumbing and heating with have a journeyman or master license displayed on the vehicle. It is against Massachusetts code not have the license number on vehicle. If no license number is displayed they probally or not licensed and insured. Big red flag. Customers beware. read more

We had Sharp come out to simply install a new toilet and connect a new vanity to water. Once here, they quoted me $2,400. I have someone else coming out to do the work for $360, but we are left without a bathroom until then. I feel like calling Sharp was just a complete waste of time. Just not right. read more

Our toilet flooded and we suspected a lodged child's toy. Sharp Plumbing was here the same day and got the toilet cleaned out. It was not an easy job. Thank you Robert and Ryan! Ryan also explained the cost as we went along so I knew what was happening and cost. Golly, he must have showed me the costings 3-4 times as the projects went along. Very reasonable. I had asked Sharp Plumbing to have their plumbers also fix our faucets that were leaking in the same bathroom. Again, not a simple fix. They needed to clean out under the sink in order to fix the faucets and when all was fixed the undersink area was straightened! Thank you. Whenever Robert or Ryan had to go back to their truck they removed their protection booties. I appreciate that they cared about keeping our place clean - especially with a toddler around. When I called Sharp Plumbing with a question about one faucet, Robert and Ryan were back the next day. That's service! I haven't done well with finding good plumbers over the years. I called and specifically let them know that the water heater was 27 years old, within seconds of their arrival (which costed $80) I was informed that they will not touch a water heater this old. They should have told me that on the phone. They offered to sell me a new unit and inspect my plumbing for other work they could sell me. No offer to wave the $80. After a bad review the manager calls me to apologize, but no offer to refund the $80, though he offered to apply it to a new water heater. I will not be using this company ever again as I was basically scammed out of $80. read more
