I had taken my 2019 Ford Escape to Pearson Ford because I thought the starter had gone out when it wouldn't start despite having a new battery and gas in my car. They tried to tell me I needed a whole new engine for around $12k. I had it towed to Sharp's Automotive for a second opinion. While part of what the dealership said was true, Sharp's was able to actually fix my engine without replacing it. There was a part that had to go to a separate machine shop for work to be done on it. The machine shop was backlogged and didn't get to my part for a week and a half, but I don't blame Sharp's since that was beyond their control. Apparently, my engine timing belt needed to be replaced along with a few other things; they also did an oil change. The timing tool they had was missing a part due to a former employee not putting it back where it belongs and they couldn't find it. So they ordered the missing part and had to wait a day to receive it. My engine timing parts were complicated for putting back together, so it took longer than he thought it would. He promised me I would get my car back on a certain day even if he had to work late. I did get my car back on the day he promised. All in all, I spent less than $5k for the work and I'm happy to have my car back in my garage. Steven was the mechanic who worked on my car; he communicated well about the progress and I think he did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone! read more

Add my name to being a fan - Competent, friendly and fair priced is Sharps. They put in a new clutch and flywheel on my 07 Ford Focus, then couple of weeks later, had to put in a starter as well. Old girl drives great now. When the starter died I was right by that Burger King there and just pushed it over to the shop myself. I was sweating and huffing and puffing, lol. Trish, their office manager, offered several times to get me water, etc. Very nice of her. This is my go to place for now on. Sharps Automotive is not a place I would recommend. Their communication is poor , they did were not able to properly provide the services they were supposed to , and have more headache than the broken car it's self. Been dealing with them since November, was supposed to have the vehicle back before thanksgiving. It is now January 16th of 2024 and I'm still having problems. I would give this place negative stars if I could... NEVER GO TO SHARP'S GARAGE!!!! I went on Saturday to get an estimate because my heat went out in my car. I spoke with Bob and he said nothing about the estimate costing anything. Once I got there he said it would be $25 for an estimate, so I agreed. After looking at my car for 15 minutes he came back and said "it was more work than I thought so you're going to need to pay me $45 today". When I questioned him he told me that he had to take a bunch of stuff apart and basically indicated he would put it back together once I paid. I was alone and he was the only person in the office with me. I felt uncomfortable and that I had to pay, so I did. Today my boyfriend fixed my car for $250 less than what I was quoted and also told me that my motor blower had been disconnected and was find. That's what Bob said I needed to have fixed. When it was actually my resistor that was broken. When I called Bob on my lunch break to ask for a refund. He rudely refused. When I asked for a manager he said "that's me" and when I asked for an owner he said "that's me". When I told him that I paid to have my car "put back together" and he left my motor disconnected he said "that was an oversight" and still refused to refund my money. The part I needed only cost $38 after tax. So I paid him more for doing nothing. This is BAD BUSINESS! Please share and never visit this place!!!! read more

They are only open Monday-Friday which can be a hassle for many, but their service is worth the inconvenience. I've gone here for several things working with Dustin each time, and have never been disappointed! Today I closed the hood and the latch would not keep the hood down, so I called him and he said to bring it in even though it was close to closing time. He took a look at it and it turned out all he needed to do was unscrew the mechanism and spray some WD40 on a cable. Took less than 5 minutes to fix PLUS I told him I was going to head to a friends house right after to work on my engine and was worried that the latch wouldn't lock when I was done, so he explained to me exactly how to remove the latch and what to do if it required more than a spray of WD40. I have never been disappointed with this place and will continue to bring my car here. Plus they give a discount to Marian University students so that's a little bonus ;). read more

I went to Sharp's on Sept 5, 2018. To have an oil change done.i called before going to get the price. Upon arriving I got the same price in person. When my car was done. I went to pay I was given a different price. I was told a part on my car had to be replaced. That was associated with the oil change. No one came and told me before. It was time for me to pay the fee. That there was a problem with anything. They changed it without my consent. Then charged me for it on their own. Then on Sept 7th I looked at my bank statement. Saw where I had been charged twice. For the oil change and part that replaced. I called and spoke to the manager. Who said he only saw one charge. I told him I will be up there. I got up there and showed the manager. The two charges on my statement. Prior to arriving there I called my bank. They told me they did two charges. One was a debit and one was a credit. They had been paid for both transactions. He said they didn't receive the second charge. They had only been paid once. I called my bank back so he could hear the cinversation. He told me the bank made the mistake. They didn't have anything to do with it. I told him they charged it in two different ways. We went back and forth. He said he couldn't give my money back. Because they didn't have the money. He then stated he was going to get someone else. After saying he didn't feel comfortable. He called their banking system. Which the recording said it would be 18 minutes. He said he didn't want to wait on hold. So pushed for them to call him back. It took about forty minutes for the call back. I had the minutes that was recording on my phone. When I came in and called my bank. He told me I hadn't been in the store that long. Then while talking to their Bank rep. He told me to be quiet and let her talk. This caused my husband to become fired up. Telling him he wasn't going to talk to me that way. Another employee came out saying. I got work to do I don't have time for this. So then my husband corrected him. The bank rep said she saw the two charges. But they had only received money for one. I sent her my bank statement. She then said she would put in. For me to be refunded the second charge. Due to my bank saying these charges. Had been paid out the both of them. The manager said they could reverse it. He was on speaker phone. My bank rep told me she couldn't speak with him. But told me it couldn't be reversed. Because it had already been paid out. The manager said that she's lieing. They can give your money back. The second employee said he don't know why my bank. Didn't cancelled the second charge in the first place. He then said they have had this problem. Where another customer used their card. Said there machine said it was denied. She went to the bank and got the money out. Then later the charges showed up on her card. This has happened according to him. With several customers having problems. There when using their card about charges. The manager is young and not experienced. When dealing with issues like this. To where he became rude along with his employee. After they did a repair without getting consent. I wasn't going back to them anymore. Never before have I had a auto place. Just do what they want without informing. A customer of work that they say needed to be done. My husband said he would change the part. He told him I already did it. They didn't see where or why this is a problem. I had to file a dispute against them with both the banks. They continued to say they didn't get the money. Even after my bank said they had been paid out. My husband asked why is it filed under cash charge. The manager said it's not a atm. I told him then you filed it under a debit charge. Then filed it under a credit charge. My bank didn't just put an extra charge to them. He continued to say my bank made the mistake. My bank informed me that it wasn't on them. They filed it twice two different ways. They wouldn't admit this error was their fault. They continued to say my bank made the error. In the end I can say they are unprofessional. At the very least due to them having this issue. Frequently with several customers and haven't done anything. To see what the issue is with their system. Is ridiculous. I will never deal with them again. I would advise anyone not to go there. It's not worth the hassle you have to go thru. Then have to wait to get your money back. If I hadn't caught it then they would have extra money. Just like the lady who he told me about. Her issue was in the amount of five hundred dollars. I'm sure they have gotten money they should have. Doing business this way. Then acting like they don't know anything. Especially when their bank told me they saw. Where they charged me twice. But they was only paid once. If you are looking for a good auto repair shop that is HONEST, you've found it at Sharp's! Let me give you an example, I took my van in for a possible oil leak. I explained what all happened and included that I had my husband add oil to it and noticed the next day, a puddle of oil in the driveway where my van was parked. My husband texted me that the oil puddle was from him spilling some. My van was already getting looked over, so I couldn't let them know. When Justin came in to tell me what he found, he told me that he believes the place I got my last oil change (one of those drive through places, I won't name any names) probably didn't put enough oil in and as far as the puddle, it looks like my husband might have spilled some. He said they didn't find any leaks and with the exception of the few things I already knew was wrong, my van was in "good shape". If they wanted to, they could have told me anything and I would have believed it. Instead, they were completely honest and even took my van to the car wash, to inspect a leak I had told them about. They didn't even charge me for it! These people are honest, good people who also offer excellent service. read more
