We have had our Shasta Pool for a little over a year now and absolutely love it. The designer, Gary, did a great job and we have a beautiful pool. Any little problem we have had gets taken care of right away. We called them last week to fix a pressure valve and clean the filter and the service technician, Daniel Lammay, was great. He took care of everything we needed and gave us some pointers on making the pool and filter last longer. I do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asks. Five stars to Shasta! read more

As of today I would give Shasta one star for customer service and communication. I have faith in the quality of the product, but not in the people employed to get the job completed. I understand that the whole pool industry is expericing delays. I started this pool process in July of 2020 after we won the lottery for a lot in Queen Creek. Our builder Taylor Morrison said that if we wanted to finance the pool with our mortgage we had to do a dig and hold with Shasta. We went to them designed the pool of our dreams and were super excited about spending our summer enjoying our backyard. The problems started with us even getting the dig completed. They would call and say they are going to go draw outline the pool and we would have to approve it then they will do the dig. We would go to the site to look at the outline of the pool, but no outline would be there. This happened a few times. Each time we would call and ask about what is going on and they would not really have an answer other than they couldn't make it out that day. They never called to say they were not going to do what they said they were going to do. This same thing happened with the actual dig. They would call and say someone was going out to dig your pool, we would go to the lot to look and nothing was done. Now that we have closed on our house and are ready to get the pool completed they are saying it is going to take 28 business days before we could get plumbing done. We have now been waiting since April 30th 2021. My biggest problem is that we have to reach out to them and ask about our pools status and everytime we call then they act like "Oh yes, let me call someone or ask someone about this." This makes me feel like they don't have any kind of system on how they are completing pools. They never say we have 10 pools ahead of you or anything that will let us know what or when to expect our plumbing to get started. The other thing that they have consistently told me is they would not be able to tell me if the plumber is coming until the day of. How can you run a business or can I have a life within those conditions. I am hoping Shasta can redeem themselves by communicating more definitively and consistently. I think they have a good product, but everything else has been disappointing. As of right now I would say don't use them, save yourself the headache. This project with Shasta has been a complete disaster. Their sales staff make recommendations they can't stand behind. They are slower than molasses in sub-zero weather at responding. When they do, they only address a portion of your concerns and often times they haven't a clue at what point your project is actually at. The only thing Shasta did quickly is ask for money and cash checks. The most important thing in a business relationship is trust, there is non of that with this company. They promise to not hit one deadline, never get back to you, fail to fully inform you of work that is going on and, my personal favorite, not ever really understand where your project really stands. Before you drop a five figure number in their pockets you need to be prepared that you will be greatly disappointed. So buyer beware, you have been warned. read more

I can't say I would recommend anyone to go to Shasta to have a pool built. Their sales process is pretty good, 3D software is very impressive. But after that things start to fall apart quickly. Permitting and drawings took over 2 months, then the design had to be changed because the steps didn't align with the Baja shelf. Then when they dug the hole and put in the shotcrete, the Baja shelf was too high and they had to chip over a foot of it out and re-shotcrete that area. Then there was a lack of coordination between the landscape dept and the pool installation that resulted in more delays. We signed our contract before Christmas and our pool is still not complete on May 29th, and we can't seem to get anyone to call us back and tell us when we're even scheduled to get our pool plastered and finished. Very disappointed with both the execution and communication with this company. Shop elsewhere. read more

My husband and I could not be happier with our entire experience with Shasta Pools. We first met and worked with James Arrowood to design our dream dive pool and spa. He was incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. The rest of the crew from dig, concrete, travertine decking, and the finishings were always prompt in their work. Candy and Mark were very responsive, helpful, and extremely professional- even during the busy holidays! The Shasta staff is one we knew from the start we could count on! I researched several companies and contractors before choosing Shasta. Additionally, I had three people whom had their pools built by them, and one who chose another company, recommend Shasta. I'm quite pleased with the finished product and happy with my selection. The finished product is fantastic. One of the unfortunate realities of building a non-heated pool in late fall/early winter is that regardless of how inviting it looks (and it does), getting into it when the water is 56 degrees is a daunting experience. :) read more

Disappointed. We tried to give them a chance, but the communication was poor and they're unresponsive. We had asked them to come out to design and quote a new pool on October 4th. The day of, the designer calls and says his truck broke down, ok bad things happen, so we reschedule. Arrives the following week, says he'll have the drawings and estimate completed in a week and then we can come in to review. Almost two weeks later we hadn't received any updates or follow up, so we texted Brandon, no response. Called the office, they had nothing in the system. They said they would escalate to the designer to follow up with us, no response. Texted Brandon again, no response. Was sent to his manager who apologized, but still had nothing for us in regards to a drawing or estimate or any info. If it's this hard to just get the design and try and give them the job, I can only imagine how hard it is once you're working with them. read more

Low stars indicate the pool process, not the pool itself. The pool turned out beautifully! (Thanks again to Tom Walton). My pool was supposed to be done by Thanksgiving. Bill, my salesman, was supposed to get my permits over the summer and have construction start October 10. He dropped the ball and didn't get them until November. Our pool wasn't completed until February. There were construction issues, resolved by Tom Walton and extra cost issues...again resolved by Tom. Thanks! KUDOS The training was a joke..it should have been free for one thing. I still don't know how to use the pool systems. The fancy cleaning system doesn't work like I think it would. Debris in the pool is just pushed from one place to another. Sweeping all the time and the pool is still dirty. Don't get me wrong, everyone was very nice and easy to work with. I would suggest to get EVERYTHING in writing before you sign anything. What you talk about is just that..talk. nail the prices down in detail. read more

Well it's been almost a month since the last update. We now have the hardscape installed and Shasta's subcontractors, subcontractor has installed the deck happily in a quality manner. We were hoping for greater positive change and one would assume we are back on track. But not quite- we now have been told that we would need to select another type of tile due to supposed quality issues with the adhesive for our ledger stone we selected on the spa. This would not be a serious issue except it's now the second time on the same pool construction build just a different subcontractor for Shasta and different part of the same pool. To add insult to injury for us the hardscape installer is simply too busy to come and provide another sample for us to select and they feel we should once again go and select something more appropriate- I guess this translates to more convenient for them? Wow!!! Could you possibly say anything more to help make up your mind on who to hire to build your next pool??? Sincerely a thirty eight year construction tradesman and homeowner. read more

I honestly don't know if this is the Shasta Pools in Mesa. My husband called the general Shasta Pools customer service number for the Phoenix area. Our pool was originally put in by Shasta. We're in Gilbert. The service was fine, but the gentleman was here for 20 minutes and simply replaced a light bulb and fixture for our Spa light (Shasta has unusual size bulbs that we only could get replaced by Shasta). It cost $495. The repairman said that they always charge for 2 hours of labor no matter how small the job. It's called their "time standard." I think they are very overpriced. read more

Shasta built my pool in 2006 with a raised spa. The spa now leaks due to an internal Pipe leaking. Contacted Shasta and they said it was not covered by their warranty, it only covers structural issues. Shasta warranty is not that good, dont believe the hype about being a Shaster master pool.... all these pool builders use the same contractors and Shasta doesn't give any better support/warranty then the cheaper guys do. read more

We've nearly completed our pool and patio project with Shasta and have had an excellent experience. They have been transparent and communicative throughout the project - no surprises. We also had them build an outdoor kitchen with a grill and fridge with a gas hookup. We now have a beautiful backyard with minimal maintenance. I highly recommend these guys. read more

We had heard Shasta was the best pool company and when we bought our new home we contract with them. Our salesperson was good at the beginning but after the pool construction began we had a very difficult time getting him to return phone calls. The construction was delayed and seemed to drag on forever. We opted for the in floor cleaning system which so far seems like a waste of money. In fact we had to buy a robotic floor cleaner for $1,400 just to keep the floor clean. It took a month after the pool was done for Shasta to install our wok pots. They said they couldn't find them in their warehouse. Right now we are waiting for Shasta to come and inspect the floor cleaning system, straighten the diving board and check the salt chlorinator. As of now they weren't able to tell me when they would come out. Not good enough performance to recommend Shasta. read more

I see there are some negative reviews but I can honestly say that our experience was very positive. Once the project got started they were very attentive the whole way through the project. All the workers were very kind and always cleaned up at the end of the day. We received regular calls to update us on what the next step would be. We had them install quite a bit of decking and a grill/fridge area. We love how it turned out and would recommend them! read more

We have had our pool since 2006, when we met with salesperson (John N.) he talked us into buying the lifetime warranty, that would also include the pool decking. Well let's just say it covers nothing, unless it's the popup cleaning heads, and we have to take the broken ones in for exchange. Our light has burned out every year, when we called back in 2007, we were told that if they send the diver out (fyi the deepest is 5ft in the center) then its 150, and if it's something we did could be more, however we could replace the bulb ourselves it's easy to do. Then the pump goes out 2013, nope not cover oh by the way the regulations have changed you have to now go to the 2 speed model (can you say more $$$). June of this year we go to replace the bulb again (its every year since 2007) and the bulb housing breaks off in the bulb outlet. Now we call with specific instructions to contact me on my cell with a time the tech would arrive, however he calls my home (excuse me I have to work so I can pay this guy to come out) I arrive home 5 mins into the 2 hour window to see the driver taking off. Once I check he arrived 15 mins early. Now I have to wait another week because he was heading to the next appt.(what happened to the two hours he was scheduled to be at my house suited up and ready to dive into 4.5ft of water?)Then this weekend the salt chlornator that was replaced in 2011(yep that cost $$$ too) is not covered under warranty either. So I can pay $1000+ for a new one and wait till next week to get it installed. When I complained isn't there anything else and was told no, lets just say no was not the right word to say to a customer. I was put on hold for about 5 mins. The CSR came back on to say we have a lower version that's $700. Well let's just say this after confirming that my lifetime warranty isn't void (Lord knows I cant lose that coverage) I'm looking for an alternate mfg and a company who cares about providing service with a reasonable cost. So Long Shasta and if family and friends ask us what pool company to use we will say, "DO NOT USE SHASTA FOR ANYTHING, they only care about MONEY!" read more

Very professional, we were thrilled with them. Our pool was over 22 years old, plaster rusting through and tiles falling off. Badly needed to be redone. I took a few bids from other companies. Shasta's was about $2000 higher than others, but they just seemed far more knowledgeable. The others all seemed to rely on subcontractors, who each had their own schedules and warranties, whereas with Shasta it was all through them. Start to finish they did a great job at helping us choose what we wanted, showing us the pros & cons of different surfaces, and keeping us informed every step of the way as to what would be happening next, and when. Although the staff is very friendly, actually getting them to do anything is difficult at best. We had been working with them for nearly six months on the design and pricing until having to finally give up because they never once hit their own deadlines. While we've known several people who have had good experiences, we apparently were not so lucky. If you cannot keep your promises while you're quoting the business, you cannot be trusted to keep them once we've committed. You have lost our business and any opportunity that we would ever refer you to anyone. read more

If I could give a zero I would. Once buying the pool everything went downhill from there. The salesman was not honest, he changed the plans and the decking was wrong. The equipment they installed did not work and it had to be replaced. The pool took months past when they said it would be done to build. Now not even 4 years after the pool is built the slide and waterfall is falling apart and the entire stone decking is disintegrating. Shasta says it is normal and not in warranty. Normal for an entire deck to be trash and have to be replaced after 3 1/2 years????? They have never done anything to accommodate us and try to make the situation better. I spent 45,000 on garbage. I would never treat people the way they do. I would never put my name on the craftmanship they provide. If you have not already bought from them don't. The have no pride in what they build and no concern about it falling apart. Shasta is absolutely a terrible company! read more

We only had two issues with the process. One, a two day excavation took three days because only one person showed up on the second day. Two, our sprinkler system was not relocated correctly, even though they marked it with rebar correctly beforehand. However, once we called the landscaper, he came out the next day to fix it. read more

We got our pool done by Shasta several years ago. We paid extra for the Shasta glass and lifetime warranty. It has been a headache from the very beginning. They dug a hole in our backyard and left it for weeks despite multiple phone calls. I finally took a sign and stood outside their office protesting "don't get your pool done by Shasta". Suddenly they were ready and eager to finish our pool and even gave us some extra cool deck for the trouble. The pool has never worked right from the very beginning. Dirt has blown through a jet in our spa from the very beginning. It wasnt bad at first but over the years has gotten worse. I had them out multiple times to fix it, even had to take my sign back down to their store and protest to get them to come out and look at the pool. They tell me there is no problem. Now we have weeds growing from the same jet. And the Shasta glass has worn away and cement is visible in areas. That lifetime warranty was a big joke. They won't honor the lifetime warranty - they say it's because the chemicals we used on our pool are the cause. Funny that they no longer sell the Shasta glass, probably because they figured out it's not all they thought it would be. I would never recommend this company. I would take my sign back down there to protest and try to make them honor their warranty., but I'm not sure I want them touching my pool ever again. read more

Recently We decided to install a pool in our backyard. We made appointments with several pool companies for quote and Shasta was the second of 5 companies we met with. When we arrived at my scheduled meeting we were left waiting in the lobby of the Shasta office for 15 minutes. Once we were finally taken back it was apparent right off the bat that the salesperson we were meeting with was not the least bit interested in what we were looking for. The first thing every other pool company we met with, before and after Shasta, asked us what we were looking for in our new pool. The first thing our salesperson at Shasta said to us was how great him and his company was. He then pulled some plans from our neighborhood and informed us that we had a 12' irrigation easement in our back yard. At this point he stopped talking to us all together. He would just repeat to us that we had an easement in the backyard and then leave us all sitting there in silence for extended periods of time. After about a half hour of this, we left, extremely disappointed. Not even once did this salesperson, try to provide an alternative to this easement problem or suggest trying to get a variance or anything. He never even asked us what our vision for the pool was. It was as if as soon as he saw there was an easement that our pool would be too much work and he couldn't be bothered with it. About 5 minutes after we left Shasta, the salesperson called us and suggested that he set up a blue stake, we agreed, and he said he would call us in a few days to follow up. The blue stake and follow up call NEVER came. We essentially wasted hours meeting with a company to walk away with nothing! Not a pool design, not a quote, not a blue stake, or even a phone call. The next couple of days after our meeting with Shasta we met with 3 other pool companies. We informed each one of the easement and EVERY other pool company said this easement would not be a problem and that they would be able to get a variance to build if it came to that. The time spent discussing this easement with other pool companies was so minimal I was surprised by how it was handled by Shasta Pools, as if was a major, insurmountable, problem. Needless to say we went with another company, Dolphin Pools. During permitting, it was found that this irrigation line, in which the easement was created for, was abandoned. There wasn't even a need to get a variance during permitting and, as of last week, our permits came in and construction has begun on our pool. I would NOT recommend Shasta Pools to anybody! Their customer service is lacking to say the least! read more
