An actual email sent to this company. "I was told the excavation would start today and it did not. Since doing business with you I have been told demo would start 5 different times and in every instance, it was not started. 3 times for it to begin and an additional 2 times for the side yard that was forgotten. I was very optimistic about getting a pool. I have wanted one forever and I finally had the money to get one- I was so excited! I was looking forward to this being a fun time. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a contracted service. I really just want this to be over. I have been completely stressed out since January- when demo was supposed to start, followed by excavation and nearing completion by May. Here we are 4 months later and only demo has been completed. I feel for you guys. I know it has to be so difficult to work with such a high demand and I can only assume, not enough employees to meet the demand. I know I haven't been the best customer. I have requested communication to be a priority because I have the dogs to keep locked up when work is happening and maybe that's frustrating to you. I'm at a loss. I'm not sure why I keep getting told things will happen on specific days and that day comes and nothing is started or completed. I have no desire to tarnish reputations or hurt businesses but I feel taken advantage of. I need commitments. When you say something will be completed in a certain day... Our pool was finished a little over a year ago and we started having a problem with the Pentair electronics. After calling Pentair they said it should still be under warranty and to contact the installer. We contacted Tracey and she promptly got a repair order going and it was fixed at no cost to us in under a week from when we made the initial call. If you want a company that promises and doesn't deliver then this is the one you want. If I could leave zero stars I would. We signed our contract Aug 28,2019 with promises of starting our dig Oct 1st since we closed on our house sept 27. The dig started Oct 9 and the promise was 6-8 weeks from dig to complete which put us on target for approx Thanksgiving. Well as of today Jan 19,2020 we still are not even close to completion. Nov 27th TRACY'S email promised block work to start which again was promised on dec 31st email, not only to start but to complete the block work, again on Jan 2, Jan 8, and again 2 days ago. Wish I could add a pic here, which would prove that not only has none of that happened, but our pool which has no peebletech yet looks like a garbage dump from contractors throwing things in the pool on the shotcrete, and the sunken area block work has only about 1/3 of the footers poured and a huge dirt hole with no block. Our home foundation is still exposed and shocking no workers today so obviously for the 5th time of broken promises- no completion. That's the tip of the iceberg let's not even talk about the 4 times the gas line workers were out here laying pipes then taking out and putting back because plans didn't match permits but had to redo them to match the contract after correcting the permit. The contract workers for the block work admitted to my husband they have never done anything like this before and states his plans were wrong and he couldn't reach the supervisor for clarification so he has been trying to figure it out on his own. So between the permits, plans, lack of knowledge and rain I GUESS NONE OF THIS IS THE POOL COMPANIES FAULT THAT THIS IS CURRENTLY 4 MONTHS IN AND WE ARE NOWHERE CLOSE TO FINISHING but they sure did collect approx $40,000 of our money so far. At this point we have given up hope of finishing this by spring as we have lost all confidence in this company at this point. read more

Let me start with saying our sales guy Brandon was amazing, very good at what he does, explained everything and helped create the pool of our dreams and keep it within budget. He was very matter of fact and did not fluff anything as other salesmen seemed to do. He had us sold from day one. We were able to go under contract with them right before we closed on our house so they could get permits and everything together so digging could start shortly after we moved in. We were originally told dig would start in January but we didn't actually get the dig done until February. The process from there was a bit rough and extremely frustrating. Nothing from permits went according to schedule until the bitter end. We were constantly being given dates for things to get done but not once did it go as scheduled, it was normally a week or two out. I did contact Tracy early on and asked that they keep us informed on everything, I will say while not perfect she did a pretty decent job of contacting me back in a timely manner, however it was normally letting us know our job wasn't going to happen as scheduled. At the very end we were waiting for our water feature to be completed, after our pool had already been done and full of water. We were not able to use the water feature until they completed the tile work, and it took almost a month to get the tile guys back out here to complete it. Again we were given multiple dates for their return and each time no one showed. I was waiting for pool completion to give my honest review and it is now finally done, water feature and all. They have already completed all but one thing on our punch list which I have been in contact with Tracy to let her know and hopefully that will be completed soon. Our superintendent was Jeremiah and he was hit and miss with communication when I text him, very nice man just wish he would have communicated with us more. As far as the quality of our pool and how it turned out everything so far seems great, mind you it's only been completed about a month. In fairness though I'm not sure if the hiccups we had during the process was island Style Pools or contractors and supplies or a combination of all of it. So maybe if we weren't in these crazy times it would have been different, I'm not sure, but was something we tried to understand no matter how frustrated we were with delays. I will also say it took them 7 months from the time we signed our contract to pool completion, and every other company said at least a year and a half, so they did keep their word on having us swim this summer. So all in all not a horrible experience, but definitely not smooth either. I would probably recommend them and hope that construction calms down and they can be better about having contractors out on time. read more

My wife and I signed a pool contract with Island Style Pools on 07/31/2020 since we were told that the price would go up at the start of August. We paid the $1,000 deposit, which we now realize we should have. On 08/17/2020 we informed Evan Price (owner) that we were unable to obtain the necessary financing for the pool, and we asked if Evan could make an exception in regard to returning all or some of the deposit since everything is negotiable, and contracts can be renegotiated. Unfortunately, Evan refused to return any of the deposit. We understand that the contract states that the deposit is non-refundable, but given the fact that we were unable to obtain financing we thought that something could be worked out since Island Style Pools is a local company. We never even made it to the permit stage, so we feel that Island Style Pools did not do $1,000 worth of work. We do not recommend this company, and are now looking at companies such as BYOP (Build Your Own Pool), and Independence Pools since they are marketing themselves as 30% to 40% cheaper than traditional pool builders. read more

this company is in the process of installing a pool at my neighbors house in Gilbert. They made a huge mess in the street when pumping slurry and never bothered cleaning the street afterwards. All the wet slurry washed down to my house and left a mess in the street gutter. I called several times and finally the owner came out last Monday and promised they would clean it up by Wednesday. They never did, and he took his sign down thinking I wouldn't be able to find them. This company has no integrity and doesn't care about neighbors in the area of their work.
