We recently built a TW Lewis Home in Golf Canyon in Estrella. We did a lot of research and spoke with a lot of pool companies. Many of the pool companies could not deliver what we wanted for the price we wanted to stay in. After talking to Skip one of the owners with Shasta we decided to set up an appointment and met with him and Robert one of the pool design guys at the Bell Rd location. I was first impressed by how friendly and professional they both were and also by the fact they wanted to try to give me everything they possibly could for our budget. We had a pretty big list of must haves. We wanted a pool that had a model home feel,wanted a hottub, travertine pavers,built in BBQ, the automatic cleaning system and had to have the Pentair system where we can control everything from 1800 miles away. Most of the other companies were telling us they could maybe do a pool and BBQ for the price we wanted. This was our first pool we have ever built or owned so we were a little worried at first esp since we live so far away in the Cincinnati area. But the first meeting with Shasta made us realize we went with the right pool builder. Skip was great with making sure we got everything we wanted and stayed within our budget. There was also a no pressure feel when we talked to Skip. We told him we had other bids and he understood. He told us it's a big purchase and he understood if we went with someone else. After seeing the quality of work that Shasta does and the price for everything we decided to go with Shasta. We were set up with an appointment to meet with Robert and design our pool/spa and landscape. This was a fun day! Basically Robert went over everything and helped us out with some great ideas! He was very knowledgable about every aspect of building a pool and landscape. We loved the ideas that he came up with and the final design of our pool/spa. After we finalized our plans and our home was getting close to being built we decided to make a few minor changes with the pool and landscape. Robert and Skip got us in right away and made the minor changes last minute. We finally closed on the house and the pool building was started. Most everything went smooth. They hit solid granite about a foot under the ground which delayed the process a couple weeks. Any concerns we had Skip answered immediately. The final outcome of our backyard was incredible! We got the resort style backyard we have always wanted. It's so nice to be able to control everything from our IPad or IPhone or any Tablet with the Pentair System. Everything we go out there now our friends are amazed that when we are driving to the house we can start heating the hottub up for when we arrive. It truly has been a great experience. I have to give a big thanks to a job well done to Skip,Robert,John B., Michelle G,Pam,Rick,Annie and I'm sure im leaving a few people out. We can't say enough about the great job you guys have done on our pool,spa,pavers,bbq and the landscape! I would highly recommend Shasta to anyone who is looking to build a pool,spa and have their entire backyard looking like a model home. We love our new pool and Shasta did an incredible job! They remove reviews just letting you guys know this is the third time I leave a review and they removed them. This company lacks communication within its own departments and also with customers. Upper management makes changes day to day with complete disregard how it will affect its frontline employees. The new service/pool care/ 2year warranty manager is leading the company to failure. She cannot keep employees due to unprofessional demeanor and micromanagement. All of the employees that came before this manager have now quit or have been nitpicked to get fired by her. This manager relocated the call center from corporate to a design center in Mesa with lies about the transition process and HR goes along with the lies. They say one thing to all of the employees in meetings but if it's not on paper they change it to their advantage with complete disregard to employee's concerns. All of the current CSR's are NEW and have not been trained properly they stress out and have no help . The manager is never available , she is always with her door shut or in meetings because she took over three different departments. It's too much work for her. She gets stressed and starts being rude with the CSR's . She talks very bad of other managers and employees whenever she gets a chance. She thinks "Shasta's warranties are stupid and don't make us money" when they keep this company with loyal customers. This manager also has favorites who she allows to cuss at other employees and work overtime and leave early as she wants. When it comes to others she writes you up even if she gives you verbal permission to leave early. This company wasn't as bad as it has been but I will say it is going downhill.I would not recommend to work here you will not be treated equal and they're always changing prices and policies without letting you know making you look dumb with your customers.. and if you go and discuss this with HR, they will do Nothing about it because they have had multiple complaints about this and nothing has changed. This is not rocket science you will keep losing employees and customers due to this lack of communication and performance. Tried so hard for so long to help. Ownership doesn't want to listen to advice or believe the information given if it doesn't fit their mindset. In the early Fall of 2018 we started talking to Shasta Industries about putting a small pool and fire pit in the backyard of our home in Scottsdale, AZ. We finally agreed to a contract on November 9, 2018. Four days later, we selected the pool colors and on December 11, the layout plan was completed. It took another four weeks to get the final plans that were submitted to our homeowners association. The HOA approved the plans on January 17, 2019. After that date, I tried numerous times to get Shasta to give me a construction start date. After three frustrating weeks with no start date, I wrote the President of Shasta Industries on February 8. I received no reply. On February 12, I received an email from Shasta indicating that construction would start the week of February 18 or, at the latest, the following week. On February 14, I met with Shasta and they asked me to again approve the plan including color selections. On February 23, I received a text from Shasta indicating construction could start the week of the 25th. Needless to say, construction did not start and I never received a date when it would. Five months after initial talks and I never received an idea when, or if, construction would start. After yet another heated conversation with Shasta, I was asked if I would like to get out of the contract. I agreed and the deposit of $500 was refunded a month later. My relationship with Shasta from the very beginning was a series of miscommunications, mistakes, and a lack of a sense of urgency. I subsequently contacted another pool company and they started construction less than three weeks later and have made steady progress since. I don't know the reasons behind their inability to start construction. I could not under any circumstances recommend Shasta Industries for anyone looking to build a pool. "The Shasta Experience" they tout on their web site was not a good one. read more

This has been beyond ridiculous so far. Hole was dug March of this year. Plumbing and electrical done permits done. This is November and we still have this large hole in the backyard. Rusting rebar and PVC piping baking under the sun. This is obviously a problem, but more than anything else, we have had zero communications, besides the receptionist at the Shasta showroom, with anyone. In June of this year we received an Email from Jeff Ast President of the company letting us know that they've hired several personnel to help with the communication problem. In August Tony Squieri Chief of Operations basically said the same. Not only did it not improve, it has been worse ! Didn't think it could be worse, but it is. We have called or Emailed at lease 6 people in various positions in their chain of command.... No reply back !! This should be an embarrassment for Shasta and the personnel that work there and somehow collect a paycheck. Im not expecting a reply back from this review because I haven't received any reply to the fifty or so phone and Email messages I have left. Im beginning to think that this company doesn't exist. I am a client of Shasta Pools. I have never had an in ground pool and was very confused to the process. Shasta pools made it easy to create a pool and a landscape that would set it off perfectly. It was quite overwhelming, from the excavation to the building of the equipment wall, but what made it bearable and not so stressful was having an excellent Project Site Manager and Project Manager. I met Tim, my project site manager, one morning. He explained everything in detail that was going to happen and ensured that any unforeseen problems would be handled in a timely manner. I have not officially met my Project Manager face to face, but Monica has been the rock to keep me grounded in all the ups and downs of this build. She is always in communication with me and letting me know who be on my property and what will be done for the day or the week. With my work schedule and what I do, it was near impossible to make phone contact during the day. Monica gave me her personal number so I could text at any time and communicate better with any concerns i had. She has been the best person I could have ever wanted on my team in this build. ZERO Rating! We signed a contract with Shasta in August, 2020 and were told that we would have a completed pool by Thanksgiving 2020. Fast forward to September 2021. The contractors have spent more time (literally) fixing mistakes than finishing the pool. Every time a contractor comes to our house, they have a different set of plans. The plans that were filed with the Building Department were even incorrect according to the Building Inspector. The concrete was poured incorrectly for the stairs, Baja Deck, and the seating area, therefore, plumbers had to return (for days) to remove and reinstall the therapy jets. For months, they have left construction debris in our yard, along side of and against our house and even in the street. (see attached photos). Communication with this company is deplorable at best and nobody cares at Shasta. Every time we complain to our Superintendent, he blames us or tells us that literally everything is our responsibility! Needless to say, we are nowhere near pool completion after 13 months. A big concrete hole still remains. We are at our Wits-end with this company. Don't make the same mistake we did in hiring Shasta Pools. read more

We contracted last year with Shasta for a pool spa combo. What a mistake! It took 8 months from contact to finish, almost every phase of the pool construction was messed up: deck cement installed to incorrect measurements, we had 3 trips to store for reselecting the tile types over and over due to supplier outages??? Interior pool finish messy, got white finish up 1 inch of dark grey tile grout and didn't get cleaned up very well! Tile installed incorrectly in spa, had to be ripped off and reinstalled, new electrical lines shorting out, blew up our existing electrical breaker box on our house and had to replace the box on the house (yes seriously), we had valve issues on the pump for a month, spa draining without a reason, finally found out there was a LEAK in the bottom of the pool! Had to drain spa and patch! 8 months of hassle, zero oversight of their subs/workers and less than zero communication or note taking between employees of Shasta, subs and us the customers. We had to drain the pool twice for fixes and all we got was 1 check for 50 bucks for all our troubles. Shasta did fix everything but what a friken a nightmare! Buyer beware! read more

We purchased our pool from Shasta and construction was completed in 2016. We noticed an imperfection early on in the pool plaster, and they did try to resolve it, by emptying the pool and acid washing, but the imperfection did not go away. They had some changes in their construction team, and while repairing a pop up, a gentleman asked us about the scar. John B came out and looked at it and between him and Hope (warranty team?) they tried a different kind of acid wash. That did not work, and then they did something, that I hoped, but never dreamed would happen. They came out and jackhammered out the old plaster surface and they started from scratch. That was the right way to stand behind your product, but I seriously doubt that every company would do it. The courtesy and responsiveness we received from John B, Hope and the rest of the Shasta team was world class. As a matter of fact, while one of the technicians was looking at the video of the pool, he spotted another issue with the pool light housing, we had not seen, and came out and resolved it. We started our pool middle of 2022 with Shasta. They came highly recommended by the builder. Without getting into too much details it was a horrible experience. You may ask why I gave them 5 stars. Well the 5 stars only go to one person there, Nicole. My project manager was not good at all. I went all the way up the chain to the owner's nephew Skip. He was helping a little then crickets. Their communication is terrible. Their customer service is terrible. They left us with an unsafe backyard. It was such a mess. The only way this got better was due to Nicole. She turned a bad situation to a good situation. She cared, listened and did everything in her power to resolve. She kept in touch with me everyday to let me know where we were at and when someone would be out. If it wasn't for her we would probably have had to higher an attorney. They are so unorganized and just no customer service. Again the 5 stars are for Nicole only! She deserves every one of those stars. The company should be looking at how she presents customer service. F-Rated clown show ; FOOLS are clueless - i wasted so much time sending in clear pictures of a pool canister "pool ring stop" a simple 30$ paramont part fools are quick to want your credit card number to charge 140 per hr BUT ARON after explaining everything to this fool replies back saying we wont just replace the lid ? he has to replace the entire canister which is busting up the cement when i asked how much a range he says they don't know they charge 140 per hr what a bunch of unqualified untrained clowns wasting your time. Never HIRE any fool that doesn't understand the project wont ask for help and instead tries to fleece you with nonsense as they are fishing to fleece you- This company has terrible low star ratings because they deserve it! My beautiful Shasta Pool's construction was coordinated and supervised by the dynamic duo Jeff Star and Nicole Rogers. Amber from the Shasta Pools, Suprise office was extremely helpful as well. From beginning to end of the construction process, my pool was handled very professionally and as expeditiously as humanly possible. If a minor problem occurred with contractors, it was taken care of promptly with an explanation and followed up on by both Jeff and/or Nicole. Even with an industry-wide concrete shortage, I was kept informed of status and my pool's construction was even expedited when possible. Oh my gosh, we love our pool by Shasta! Our sales person, Bryan, was just great. He was very helpful and patient with all our changes. He was also hands on when when it came to designing just the right pool for our yard. Our project manager Janet Ackerman was just plain wonderful. She was always ready and willing to answer all my crazy questions and worked her tail off to get my pool finished. Shasta Pools is so lucky to have her representing them. Thank you Janet so much. Also I want to mention another person who was there for us throughout our pool building process, Tom Walton. He came often to inspect that the work on our pool was up to Shasta's high standards. This is a review for our pool designer Chris Sinanovic. Chris did an awesome job from beginning to end of the designing process. He was patient, knowledgeable and maintained excellent communication with us. Chris made this part of the process a positive and fun experience. We researched for a long time for our dream pool and we were leaning toward Shasta but it wasn't until we started working with Chris that we knew for sure we made the right choice. My pet peeve when making a big purchase is pushy salesmen. I will walk out of a place the second they lay on their sales pressure. Chris had such an easy going and positive vibe. Instead of trying to constantly sell to us he educated us on the products and services and allowed us to come to a confident decision which still resulted in some fun upgrades! Our pool designer Cyndi Morelli, has the expertise we needed to create the layout we wanted. It has been wonderful to work with Cyndi because she truly has the sense of design to create our oasis for many years to come. We love our sight lines that bring the waterfalls inside as well as the fire pit placement, which relates to our circle shaped palm tree wells. Our guests from young to older ages love the Baja steps with tile trim, the bench under the waterfalls with tile trim and waterline tiles that pick up and blend with our color scheme and lattice patterns. John Wendling , design engineer, did a great job designing the pool according to our wishes and we were very happy with his suggestions and advice during the design stage, Mark Clarke, Quality Control Superintendent, was very helpful every time we had a question or need some advice. The pool was finished in a timely manner with his help. Our weekly pool service company tried to stop my salt cell from leaking and could not do it - they actually made it worse. I thought I would give my pool service company a try at maintaining my equipment and it was a mistake. My weekly pool service company cleaned the salt cell and installed it upside down so they had to come and correct that mistake. Then the salt cell leaked and they had to come out again. Still not fixed so i called Shasta pool services, who I trusted to maintain my equipment previously and they sent Ray Hundley to look at my salt cell. Ray our Shasta Pool Service Tech came out today and educated me on the steps of maintaing a healthy pool and pool equipment. My father passed away 2 weeks ago and I will be taking over the care of the pool. Being from Colorado I dont have a clue. But Ray walked me through everything step by step , showed me what all the equipment does and things to look out for as well. He then fixed 3 items that were under warranty that my dad had called on before he passed. Ray was very professional, knowledgeable, and helped mom and I out quite a bit..
