I found it. The ambiance here is great. It's inviting. The service was out of this world. The gentlemen who took our order was quick to offer some suggestions. We went with every single one of them. The shawarma plate, waygu egg rolls and the chicken cutlet. And the chicken shawarma took me right back to my first bite in the UAE. They delivered the food to the table checked in on us and were just so inviting. Shawarma guus deffinetly earned its place as #1 (it should be #1) this has made it to my go to place list and that list is hard to get to. They did in one bite. I'm a Shawarma fan and I'll go out of my way for a good one but I also like some value and it seems like these guys have maxed out in terms of price. Perhaps the Guy Fieri endorsement has something to do with idk however, the food is really excellent it's just hard to try too much at once which is what I always want to do. Coming out of semi-retirement to say that this is the best meal I've had in over ten years, and it was delivered. The seasoning and technique are clearly complex and satisfying and they go left on the French by offering the portions to justify that is isn't just an amouse-bouche effort. I ordered the chicken and wagyu shawarma plate and neither side disappointed. Let's put it this way -- every time I closed my box, I stared at it and snuck another bite. That said, shout-outs to their internal service. I called after hours hoping to speak to a manager to let them know how beyond satisfied I was, and the most wonderful person answered and she was actually giddy to hear the good news, which to me means that they are treating their employees as well if not better than they are their customers. OMG I went here for first time the other day and it was amazingggg, I've been thinking about it everyday since and wanting to go back lol. I didn't know about their first location which is very popular but when I did find out I was excited to try this new location closer to me. I'm vegan and every Greek place I go to just has falafel which I love but it was exciting to have more than that as an option. I got the vegan shawarma plate and it was soooooo good. My husband found a piece of tendon or bone in his chicken pita. The wrap was falling apart. A little disappointing because it is a higher price point and less food than nearby places.. which I don't mind if the quality is there. This is for the LaMesa location that just opened. We had never eaten at a Shawarma Guys before. Husband got the shawarma chicken plate, which was pretty good. However, the falafel on a pita was very disappointing. First it was really big (which was ok) but the pita really was more like a flatbread ( disappointing), the lettuce was sparce, very wilted and tasteless, and the falafel (while plentiful) was dry, and (worse) it tasted "soapy." No taste of cumin either. We both tasted it and thought the same. After 2 bites, we threw it away. I have eaten falafel dozens of times in lots of different places and never tasted falafel like this one. I don't eat meat so we probably won't be back. read more
