The food was good. The establishment was clean and in good order. Service was excellent. My one…read moretiny complaint is that the tortilla wasn't from California. It had no idea about Sublime's 1994 Skunk Records promo of 40 Oz to Freedom. It had no recollection of the epic festivals out on Redondo Beach. It never once said "stoked" or "gnarly". It refused to "post up" at the Ralph's and looked at me funny when I said "dank". It hadn't even seen all of the Fast and Furious movies. Yeah, this tortilla wasn't definitely NOT from California. Food still good though. A++++++ and two thumbs up.

I ordered the Blackened Chicken Caeser burrito that I used to get all the time. It was really disappointing. The burritos are huge...maybe too big to wrap the Tortilla around. The guy who made mine managed to poke his fingers through it, so that the minute I went to pick it up, it split in half and all the contents came out on the wrapper. Fortunately, they have forks. The chicken was hard and dry. There wasn't enough Caeser dressing or lettuce on it for it to resemble a Caeser salad...not like in the good ol' days. I'll try again...but at different location.

I've been to this place randomly for a little over a decade and a char burger with half fries are my go to. Fries are always top tier as well. Ambiance and service are typical Foster's standard which is a good thing. The only issue which isn't an issue really is location. If you haven't been I say go and prove me wrong. I tried a cheesesteak (with mayo and grilled onions), a hotdog (with bbq sauce and grilled onions) and some onion rings. The cheesesteak was very bland. It lacked seasoning, and they put so little mayo on it that it seemed like just eating steak and bread. I had to add some pepper and sauce at home to add some flavor to it and make it more enjoyable. The hot dog was better from a sauce perspective, but the meat itself was just ok. I had hoped they had something special about their hotdogs, but it seemed to me it could have easily been something I picked up at the local supermarket. Solid, but not something I would order again. The onion rings were good, and the establishment was clean and inviting. I may go back to try their charburgers, as those seem to be a specialty. Hopefully it will be better than the meh meal I had today.

So imagine my face when I found out they were out of sour cream. Not a specialty ingredient. Not something exotic. Sour cream. One of the most basic, fundamental toppings you can have at a Mexican restaurant, just simply not available. If you're going to charge me like I'm sitting down at a full service restaurant, the least you can do is make sure the basics are covered. The quesadilla itself wasn't bad, but it wasn't $20 good either, and nothing about this visit justified what I paid. I've made peace with the fact that prices everywhere have gone up, but this felt like too much for too little. I won't be returning to this location.

I tried one of these with the habanero lime steak and it was enjoyable. I also like that they offer both regular and spicy queso. I got a regular bowl as well with cholula hot and sweet chicken and the meat tasted better than the steak. While I should note that they offer both regular"free" queso and guacamole, their pricing is higher than Chipotle so it seems more of a wash price-wise all things considered. What would make them great would be to add plantains to the menu. We can hope!!!

I know enough Spanish to speak to a 4 year old, so I was way out of my league! I noticed upon arrival that they have some baked good, grocery goods, and apparently hot dishes given there were a few tables where people were actively eating. I just kind of strolled around for a minute looking lost. There is no one readily available to help people like me with the deer-in-headlights look. I had hoped to try an empanadas but it seemed intimidating so I strolled over to the shelves where there were various breads, pastries and cookies. I was still a bit lost because I first saw people with trays and grabbing breads but I thought they might be employees. But after wandering in another circle I noticed a lady grabbing a tray and tongs. I then saw the little sign that said to use the trays and tongs for the baked goods. I then followed the lady and managed to grab a few items. I had hoped for some cupcakes or donuts but saw neither. I did however get a cheese danish, a couple of cookies and a couple of breads. The items I got were pretty good and the bread was fairly soft. I certainly wasn't disappointed in any of the items I grabbed, I only wished there were a few other sweet items and a better system to better understand how best to navigate the store. But all things considered, the baked goods were good enough that I may very well be back to sample other items.
