A solid Schwarma shop! We ordered and waited- it didn't take long. Food was nice and hot- and seeing size plentiful.

I've only ever gotten take out and it's always been great! This most recent time I got the mixed platter with beef and chicken swarma. This came with hummus, pita bread, rice and salad (which I didn't want) but i was pleasantly surprised and even had leftovers for lunch! Food was great and came pretty fast! LOVE how they are open on the later side!

Pin found in our Large mixed shawarma portion

During my time in Milwaukee I have frequented this place, however, my last two experiences with takeout have been jarring to say the least. Last time, my cucumber salad side had a foul stench and appeared to be spoiled. In this most recent order, as pictured, my girlfriend bit into a pin when trying to eat rice and chicken. Luckily she spit out what she thought was a bone and was traumatized to see that she had actually narrowly avoided swallowing a metal pin. We will not be dining here again.

Absolutely delicious! I had just arrived to Milwaukee on a Friday and needed a late lunch after arriving to my friend's airb&b unit. They weren't home and I didn't have anything to make, so I quickly find this place on Yelp, called them up, and placed a takeout order! It was ready within 5 minutes and the food was just absolutely yummy. I love shawarma and middle eastern in general so I already knew what to expect, but the cut up pieces of this wrapped sandwich with consistent dips of the white sauce, the hot sauce (I asked for on the side) and some of the pickles really made each bite very enjoyable. No joke - I want this place to exist near me in Chicago. Very unassuming place from the outside in Riverwest, but definitely try it out.

Cheap eats that are delicious are what I will recall from Shawarma King. The service is fast. They seem to cater more to take-out, but there is a counter for those of us who just stop in for a fast bite. I loved their pita and cheese, and my friend's wrap meal was massive.

Hair in rice that the restaurant refused to apologize for.

Ordered food from this establishment multiple times, receiving pretty OK food. Food was never particularly notable; it was simply sufficient for when I craved Middle Eastern food. Today, I ordered a good amount of food, only to find hair in my food. When I called the restaurant to explain that I found hair (not mine; it was light while mine is darker) in my rice, I was met with a rude person who couldn't even do the bare minimum and apologize for the disgusting lack of basic quality control. Absolutely disgusting, both in terms of quality control and lack of basic customer service.

Happily (so happy!) stand corrected. I love it when I return to a place and find it has improved! I was a bit disappointed with this place the first time I visited, because all the reviews were SO awesome, but I had that problem with dry beef and tad under seasoning. Then we picked up on a Saturday afternoon for an early dinner, and they really wowed me. It was like they had a different chef. The rice and hummus perfectly packed with flavor, and not missing that 2% I couldn't pin point to last time. Salad was still boring, but that's ok. It went perfectly well with everything else that was super flavorful. Pita not sure why this tasted better than last time, but it was like it was more fresh? Maybe I just went on a bad day last time, and it was a day older or something. I might just stick to going on Saturdays from now on :) Chicken & Beef Shawarma So my problem last time was the beef being on the dry side, and this wasn't completely resolved. Both the chicken and beef shawarma were leaning towards dry, but still quite yummy. Would I order again? I would if they didn't have the grill items I will talk about next, but since they do, I'll probably not get the shawarma. Oh, and the portions on the mixed plate was not as great as when we had just the beef shawarma. Beef Shish Kabob The mixed grill plate came with 4 pieces of beef cubes (this must be 1 skewer, but they were packed without a skewer). These were hubby's favorite. The lamb chops were this good too. Beef Kafta Kabob The mixed grill came with 1 long piece that looked kind of like a breakfast sausage link. These were my favorite. Had great flavors, and super juicy. Chicken shish Tawook One skewer had 4 chicken chunks. Their menu says "grilled to perfection" and they're right. Boast away Shawarma King! It's easy to get chicken breast overcooked and dry, but unlike the shawarma, these were juicy and marinated just right for our tastebuds. Next time I order, I'll be totally undecided between the beef shish kabob, kofta kabob and the chicken tawook. Yes, I can just get the mixed grill again, but getting them in separate plates is so much cheaper... lol Oh, and as to the portions. We were totally happy to just share the rice and hummus from one plate. We each had our portions of the side salad. So we had a whole container of rice and most of the shawarma as leftovers for lunch, and it fed us both again. Previous review: ----------------------------- This joint has somehow escaped our notice for all these years... But we're so happy we found it! Overall, portions are super generous, and the food is good. Compared to similar restaurants, the food is less salty, but still quite flavorful. It feels more like home because of the less sodium. This was the first time in a LOOONG time that I regretted getting the 6 pieces of falafel. I wanted more. So far, hands down the best falafels in Milwaukee. Rice is not as packed with flavor as other places, but still really good and aromatic. Same goes for the hummus. Salad was boring. Pita bread was ok. Beef shawarma had heaping portions, but was on the dry side. I'm being picky though. I'd get it again. The lamb chops were delicious and right on moist. It's 5 stars except for the dryness of the beef... which I'd cross my fingers and try again, and I have a feeling it will be better next time.

maybe this is more of a review of whoever was working tonight , but:... badically we didnt get sauces or the correct drink, and was still charged for it. the shwarma was the worst constructed shwarm ive ever bought. and the baklava was mid. Oy :( Not my best experience.

On the right is #36 mixed plate shawarma with beef and chicken. On the left is the Jerusalem salad.

Fast service and great food with huge portions. The place was absolutely popping on a Saturday night. The mixed shawarma plate and Jerusalem salad were delicious. Every plate comes with rice, hummus, pita, cucumbers and tomatoes. There isn't much seating available inside so may be best to plan your food as a to-go order.

Menus are hanging on the wall... so you'll see some people standing gin the middle of the room looking at the wall. It's a bad setup, considering how crowded it gets in here. A QR code on the table with an online menu might be a better option? Or come in to yelp and check out their menu! I've added pictures below. Bartenders were superb and the food was quite amazing. Crispy Brussel Sprouts: If you hate Brussel sprouts, skip it, but if you want to give it a chance, I'd say this is the place to do it. 1/2 LB Burger is actually cheaper than the Brussel sprouts. They complement each other quite well. It can get quite loud inside, so not your romantic spot (go down the street to Buttermint for that), but if you're looking for a fun, loud, delicious spot, this is it. UPDATE 3/2024 The steak salad is absolutely gorgeous to look at and delicious to the tastebuds. Dressing is probably not keto friendly, but I love it so much!! Maybe try to ask for the dressing on the side next time.. UPDATE - 6/2025 - no longer on the menu SAD. Steak Sandwich is flavorful according to Hany.

Pavlovian response (read: classical conditioning)…read more "Classical conditioning (also Pavlovian conditioning or respondent conditioning) is a form of learning in which the conditioned stimulus or CS, comes to signal the occurrence of a second stimulus, the unconditioned stimulus or US. (A stimulus is a factor that causes a response in an organism.) The conditioned response is the learned response to the previously neutral stimulus.[1] The US is usually a biologically significant stimulus such as food or pain that elicits a response from the start; this is called the unconditioned response or UR. The CS usually produces no particular response at first, but after conditioning it elicits the conditioned response or CR. Classical conditioning differs from operant or instrumental conditioning, in which behavior emitted by the subject is strengthened or weakened by its consequences (i.e. reward or punishment).[2]" Enter, Pacific Wraps. My CS? Hearing someone utter the words "Pacific Wraps." Someone alluding to "that wrap place in the union." Anything comparable. My US? Uncontrollable salivation. Let's back up the proverbial bus here to provide a bit of context for a place which many Milwaukeeans over the age of 23 may not know about. Pacific Wraps = wrap joint in the UWM Union food court. There's really nothing special about it, I assure you... though they have lots of options and some are healthy/inventive or whatever. Use your Panther Card if you're like 20 and mommy and daddy load it for you, or pay something like six or seven bucks for any of their myriad wrap choices: Thai Chicken, Chili-Hummus, the Firecracker, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Korean, Vegan Falafel... I could go on, but I'll stop with the mention of THE MONTEREY. I am a disgusting human because I loved and still love the Monterey wrap from Pacific Wraps. I am even more disgusting because sometimes I would sub in CRISPY (read: fried) chicken instead of the grilled. Let's talk about how perfectly pedestrian this piece is regardless: chicken, cheddar, bacon, rice, and ranch all wrapped up together in a delicious, delicious gut-bomb of a thing. You wouldn't think something so plain and so fast-food-esque could be so delicious, would you? You're wrong, though. I was thrilled, however, to learn the other evening over drinks and bites post-Brew City Bash II that both my Yelp-tern Jess S and elite extraordinaire Shane H share in my secret Monterey/Pacific Wraps shame. I am alone no longer! I am not a secret disgusting monster! Shane went on to inform me that, sometimes, Pacific Wraps runs an AVOCADO MONTEREY special. Shane. I may or may not head to Pacific Wraps today and battle the throngs of 19-year olds. I'm almost ten years older than them now, and IDGAF about being in the student union anymore. Wait. Graduation was Sunday, right? Is PW even open? Do they close for the summer and I just wrote this review? TRAGEDY.

Here lemme "wrap" at ya folks for a bit…read more.. I deem Pacific Wraps to be the best food purveyor in the UWM Union. There's so much variety, as far as meat, no meat, gluten-free, spicy, mild, rice, no rice, etc. You really CAN have it all! The crew that works here obviously changes a lot since it is staffed by students, but they generally are pretty good at what they're doing. If they are out of a particular item, they are very good at suggesting alternatives. Sometimes you get one worker who just really, really, has no idea how to wrap a wrap. It is unfortunate and sometimes messy, but you know what? It still tastes the same! Eat it and go about your day! I recommend the Monterrey (rice, grilled chicken, bacon, ranch)! It's heaven in a cylinder!

A good friend of mine cooked at B&B for a while. As young, recent college grads, my wife and I regularly ate there. Along with Oriental Drugs, the Blue River Cafe, The Outpost and Century Hall, B&B was a favorite, comforting go-to spot. Although I couldn't visit very often during my 25 years on the west coast, I was so very happy to know that it was still here, and as wonderful as ever, when I returned to Wisconsin in 2008. How funny to think that this tremendous haven for those wanting to include at least some vegetarian foods in their diet occupied the spot once known for Frenchy's restaurant (the place famous/infamous for its bear and lion steaks)! I'll need a new place to eat before going to the Oriental Theater. And I'll need a long time to process the sadness I feel.
