Quite disappointed with these guys, and I'm hoping this was an honest mistake but can't help feeling they intended to pull a fast one. I went in to order a gyro wrap to go, and wanted to add a drink. They suggested I get the combo instead and I said sure. So I paid $18 for it and received a box and my drink to go and felt all was good. Came back to work only to find they didn't include the fries in the combo. I went back to my receipt and the menu to confirm that it was supposed to, and they definitely charged me the full price. Discovered this based upon other reviews and they're spot-on! Service is counter order and they are friendly and helpful. Small casual ambiance for eating in (sam a number of to-go orders while we were here). Menu is very good sized in comparison. I had a chicken shawarma Tasty but small) and wife had a spinach (she loved)and a beef (okay but lacking seasoning) pie. My first time at this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. I got the appetizer sampler and the lamb and beef shawarma sandwich combo. The falafel was friend to perfection and flavorful, the hummus and grape leaves tasted fresh as all get out. I won't lie - I've had baba ghanoush before and it's not my favorite thing, but theirs was fantastic...made me start rethinking my position on it honestly! The beef and lamb shawarma was perfect with the onions and pickles. I tried all 3 sauces(tahini, garlic and a spicy one). Hell, even the fries were great and I'm not even that big a fan of fries. I ordered a spinach Fatayer and a beef one, which were described as being "savory stuffed pies featuring aromatic spiced filling in a light-textured yeast based crusts". The sizes were larger than I expected, however my ground beef was not quite as spiced as I wanted though the spinach one was perfect for me with the proviso that spinach is one of my favorite vegetables. This little restaurant has a pizza oven so I'm sure the pizzas will be delicious since my pies were made with the same dough. We did not order any today. Hubby ordered the chicken Shawarma sandwich, but declined the $4 upcharge for fries and soda, trying to be more health conscious. The sandwich was made from pizza dough, but the size was disappointing. My two pies were substantially much larger than his serving. I took a small bite of his chicken which was nicely spiced. No way to get free water so we had to purchase a bottle as we do not drink sodas. When I went to get a photo of the menu mounted to the front counter, the kind employee handed me a paper version, surprised that there were coupons in it! I was not informed of coupons beforehand so I wasn't pleased by this, but he said those were for the next time when we return. Interesting flavors and generous portions. My husband and stopped into Shawarma for a quick lunch while out running errands. We ordered the lamb/beef gyro platter and chicken shawarma platter. The chicken was outstanding, moist and flavorful, accompanied by crisp veggies and rice pilaf that was delicious and different than any other I've eaten. The gyro was equally delicious, but we wished the meat was served in bigger bites - we had to really pick through the dish to get all the meat. Our only complaint was that the other two people in the restaurant were given complimentary cups of tea while they waited for their takeout orders. We dined in and were not offered the tea. Cook appeared to be AWOL - open kitchen & not much sign of him. Meat was over-charred & dry, accompanying salad under-seasoned & under-dressed. Mine came with a thick cold garlic sauce - I believe it was yogurt based and VERY garlicky as in raw garlic, pungent enough to cancel evening plans! lol. I am giving 3 stars as I suspect we got a substitute chef that day, the woman at counter was nice & we only tried one thing on the menu.
