I thought no biggie, I will pop in and buy what he wanted and then leave. I know the LA Fitness in the Landing. It is impossible to miss. As I entered I was surprised that no one was at the reception desk. I figured since LA Fitness is a membership gym they would want to verify if someone has membership when entering but no one was there. Behind the circular desk there were a few other workstations. There was a gentleman at one of these computers who just silently stared at me as I wandered to find Emerald City Smoothie. He didn't move, smile, nothing. His eyes just followed me. Kinda feeling odd by this point I saw the Emerald City Smoothie to the left tucked in. You can't see it when stepping into the space and the one sign is on one wall eye level. But I guess they don't really need to advertise. One young woman was alone cranking out smoothies. She was diligent in her job treating her smoothies like someone on an assembly line. She spoke little and moved fast. There were a few people in front of me and each was served quickly with no commentary. Made me wonder if they should just install a kiosk where customers could put in their orders and she could just make them with no interaction. I left much as I entered, being stared at as I walked away. I don't think I will be back. It was weird.

House seasoning on the fries doesn't add much flavor. Mostly garlic powder? not much salt. I'd actually just prefer plain ol' salt instead of their seasoning. Ordering at the touchscreen is a little confusing. Calling things "extra" implies their is already some on the burger. And if the cheeseburger is the most basic thing on the menu, call that the "simple" burger, not the next one on the menu. The "Simple" burger is a dollar more than the cheeseburger. If you're a newbie, Look at the menu board overhead to figure out what's what and then order with the guy at the counter or use the touchscreen. The menu board is a little bit more clear. First table I sat at was so wobbly I had to move to another one. Windex to clean the tables? Should probably be using quat sanitizer. I wish they had some combo meals as an option. But still, this is a solid "fast casual" smash burger. Better than the big chain restaurants like McDonald's or BK. But you'll spend more.

The tiramisu foam ayer was large enough that when I stirred the whole drink in, I could taste the tiramisu's slight coffee-like, earthy hints throughout. The milk tea itself is very strong as I could taste the bitter undertones of the tea easily after just one sip. Also love how they put their drinks in a plastic container shaped like a can! As for their boba, I actually don't mind them being much smaller than many other boba places. They're both small and very chewable, and still look very good sinking to the bottom of the drink in case a photo op is needed. Regular size boba would take up too much space inside the can anyway. Overall drink was a tad too sweet though. This is one of the few places that come to mind for me when someone asks me what boba places there are around the Renton area, as I've gotten great drinks here for every visit since 2021.
