Had a fantastic experience with Shawn. Have a Kawasaki Nomad which developed tank slap on deceleration with hands off bars. The first Yelp place I tried was a joke and why they have so many positive reviews is a mystery. They had my bike 2 days and never touched it. Was told "you shouldn't take your hands off the bars anyway". Well no kidding but that doesn't address a dangerous problem. Came back on Yelp and decided to give Shawn a shot. Showed up on a Saturday morning. He got my bike on the lift, balanced the tire and discovered the stem steering bearings were notched. He gave me an estimate and appointment date. The work was done on time and the problem solved. Shawn did the work for a very reasonable price and he is focused on customer satisfaction. Plus he is simply a very personable guy willing to spend the time it takes to make you feel comfortable. To me that is really important in finding a good motorcycle mechanic. I'm quite competent with a wrench. Just don't have a lift and many required tools but I know how to query mechanics to feel out if they know their stuff. He scored A+ across the board. He runs the place by himself so know if you take your bike in you are dealing with both the owner and mechanic. To me that is a huge. I will have no problem telling my many riding buds that if you need work done on your bike I know the guy who can help. He may have a small shop but he provides big service. Shawn will now be my new go to mechanic for the issues I can't handle. read more

Really great, honest work. I called in to see if I could get a new front tire installed. The shop was busy, but Shawn managed to squeeze me in AND replace my front brake pads while I waited. Reasonable prices, fast excellent service. Also gave me a free overall inspection before I left (recently bought the bike used). Will definitely be coming back here for all future repairs. read more

I am not a frequent review poster, more of a lurker because a company really needs to blow my socks off for me to take the time to write a review. Well - I must say, I am incredibly impressed with Shawn's shop. My son took his motorcycle in to get two new tires. Job was done quickly and price quoted was at least $200 less than any neighboring shop we had called. Because of the price difference I was a little worried about the quality and service, but Shawn's is a top notch VERY honest high quality shop. My son was greeted and dealt with Shawn himself, who is a great guy. Shawn also told my son that he needed new back brakes after getting the tires off. When my son told him (since he's a broke college student) that he couldn't afford them yet and would need to come back, Shawn gave him an awesome deal on them (a fraction of the price anyone else would charge) because he was worried first and foremost about his safety. Its refreshing to find a business who truly cares more about the well-being of customers over their bottom line. Shawn is a very knowledgeable and honest motorcycle mechanic. He has been in the business in and around Austin for many years. I take my Honda shadow to him for everything it needs. The price is right and even better the turn around is lightning fast. And every rider knows that we can't go without riding for too long! He does it all, mechanical, electrical, paint and body. Really nice guy. Really knows his stuff. I had only been riding for a few months and I had a minor crash. Still learning the ropes and also needing an oil change, I looked around online for a good place with a good price to check it out . I came across Shawn's place and I called him up and he answered even though it was after hours. I explained my situation and he checked out my bike the next day. He was very receptive to my questions, changed my oil for a good price, and even checked out the rest of my bike free of charge, adjusting a thing or two while he was at it. I brought my 1986 Honda Shadow 700 to get the front caliper rebuilt and replace fluid in the clutch master cylinder. The owner got started on my bike the day after I dropped it off with the parts. He did a great job and I was ready for my 4000 mile road trip on Day 2. I had no issues with the brakes or clutch at all on the entire trip. He did the work in one day and was very helpful explaining what was getting done and why. The price was very fair. I highly recommend this mechanic. read more

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with this guy - holy mackeral. I have a 2014 Ultraglide with 50K on it, and am leaving in a few weeks for a cross country trip. I ride with a TON of people in Austin on nearly a daily basis, so we always speak of bike shops. Lately, nothing nice has been said about some of the most popular ones (who will remain nameless, but you've lost some customers). So my buddy was talking about Shawns at C Hunts one day and was happy as a clam. I walked in on a Friday for tires, full fluids, and a primary service (I snapped a screw on the damn cover) and was offered next day service. I chose to bring it in the following Tuesday. The man stood by his quote, kept me up to date on progress, and even removed the broken screw at no extra cost. If you are looking to get your motorcycle serviced, THIS is the place. Shawn is a very fair mechanic. When I first got my bike I took it over to Wood's "Fun" Center for an oil change and they wanted to charge me $129. I declined that. When my buddy came into town and wanted to rent a bike we went to Shawn's Cycle Shop. He was able to change my oil and service my chain for less than what Wood's wanted for the oil change. I found Shawn's cycle shop on here. I'm trying to rebuild the to end on my cr250 and when i took the to end off some pieces of the piston fell down into the lower engine. Which then caused the engine to cease. Shawn was willing to go out of his way to help me out. But not to mention that you can go through him to get all the parts you need so that you don't have to hassle/worry about getting the right part and size etc..etc. he even helped me understand what exactly was wrong and I even learned a few things. So all in all i would highly recommend his shop and will continue my business here. read more

I was recently in a motorcycle accident that left my motorcycle just on the other side of being totaled. I told the insurance company paying the claim that I wanted Shawn to do the work and also to see if the bike could be fixed and not totaled. Shawn worked with them and today my bike is restored to it's former glory with all affected parts replaced.
