My poor stylist Leanna got stuck fixing a botched cut I received at another salon. She spent so much time making sure the cut was just right, and making sure most of all that I was happy with it. There was a lot to fix and I think she could tell that I was very upset. Huge chunks of hair missing and not an even end through the entire bottom of my hair. I really gave her a big task. The word fantastic doesn't even begin to describe the end result. We both knew it was a bit shorter than I wanted, but it had to be. I wasn't impressed. My hair desperately needed some love after bleaching and I was ready to chop it off and start over. I made an appt here based off reviews and location. I arrived at 5:10 and basically told my stylist I needed to get rid of the damaged hair while keeping some length with a cute style that can grow out. My hair was washed, cut, dried and I walked out the door by 5:30 with about hair about 3 inches shorter. No style to my cut whatsoever. I didn't have anything specific in mind but I figured that's why you go to a stylist. I could have went to supercuts and saved a few bucks. My search for a good hair salon will continue. read more

I cannot praise Shear Paradise enough! I've been going here for a few months, now, after purchasing a Groupon for tanning. I also started doing red light therapy, to help with acne, back pain, stretch marks and wrinkles. I am loving the results, so far. While these are not the newest beds in town, it is the cleanest salon I've ever been in, the sweetest group of girls I've ever met and I've accomplished a nice golden tan. The owner, Kathy, is 100% focused on customer satisfaction and you can tell that this is the culture of the business, through each interaction with the staff. There is no pressure to purchase any of their products, but they have a lot to offer and they're always willing to price match. My Salon of choice is Salvador Calvano - hands down - but it's a bit $$$ and such a drive for me. After trying a few salons over the last couple years ranging from Great Clips to Ulta to Super Cuts to various other higher-end salons, I tried Shear Paradise. I actually found them doing a proximity search on my cell phone. My problem is always that no one ever cuts my split ends out, and they always end up cutting way too much off. I have very coarse, long hair and I want to keep it that way, but I get soooo many split ends; since no one can ever seem to just do as I'm requesting and cut only my split ends off and no length, I end up with hair breaking off all over the place (not to mention it gets really coarse on the ends). Salvador does a "dry" cut on me, which enables him to 1) actually see the split ends because water hides them, and 2) allows him to see how my hair will look when dry. I ended up calling in and speaking to Sara who actually specializes in "dry cuts", which is unheard of in the salon industry. She was busy so she recommended Rachel who also had experience in this type of cut. Let me say - Sara was amazing! Not only did she actually listen to everything I had asked, but the cut was perfect and much less money that I expected to spend - $25 for a cut, then shampoo and condition. When I was leaving I was looking over a product Sara had used in my hair, when the (presumably salon owner) actually just gave me a small bottle of the product! Mind you - this was a ritzy hair oil, not a cheap sample product! I will forever be going back to Shear Paradise!! read more

My first experience there was AMAZING!!! The people are so down to Earth, yet still very professional. They work with your schedule and even your style, whatever it may be. It has been more than a year since I've been able to find someone with a good set of hands for hair, but when you walk into this place, you'll just know your in good hands. The lady who did my hair was absolutely talented! I explained what I wanted and showed her a picture and she replicated the picture with the few extra tips I gave her. Crystal ROCKS!!! Went to the nail salon TWICE, both bad experiences. Both times when I told them what nail color I wanted they said "ugh, are you sure? don't you want a different color?" like really? the first time I chose white and the second time I chose black. I got my nails done here two weeks ago. While my conversation with Chong was absolutely fantastic - my nails we done very thinly and within the first few days my first nail broke. I dont have time or money to go get one nail fixed so I redid the nail myself. Shortly thereafter, two more nails done by her broke. I'm not a very active person. I most type... so I'm not very hard on my nails or my hands in general. So it was very disappointing for me to know that my nails broke so quickly and easily. It's also disappointing to know I paid $60 including tip for nails that should last me at least two weeks without breaking so easily, and then I'd have to pay again to have the nails fixed that should not have broken like that to begin with. I've been getting my nails done for more than 15 years, sometimes they break and I get that, but they shouldn't break the way mine did. I had high hopes too.... my suggestion... get your hair done, your toes done, get massage even... but if you need a sturdy set of nails this probably isn't the best place to go. read more

Had a spa finder gift card and this was the closest salon that would honor it so I thought I would give it a whirl. I met with Debbie who was very slow, was very messy and a very unprofessional nail tech. It looked like a three-year-old did my nails. She was nice but then when it came to my pedicure she messed up on my toe color pattern, and didn't get half my pinky nail. I had paint all around my skin, and over my cuticles, it started to lift. I was going to say something at the front desk but she walked me to the checkout girl and just stood there waiting for me to pay and I ended up tipping a 20% because it was a very uncomfortable situation. I contacted the website and told him about my story and I haven't heard back in about four days. I had to have my nails redone and ended up paying for something that I was supposed to have as a gift for my bday. I really love this salon and the owner, she is always so sweet. I go there regularly for tanning however I am so disappointed with my hair. I went in for a consultation, low lights and a trim. I wanted an inverted bob and just needed the neck line trimmed up to give me more volume. I sat in the chair discussing what I wanted and showing her pictures before I decided to move forward. She acted as if she knew exactly what I wanted and had no issue doing it. She foiled my hair with the low lights, then she SCALPED me. She cut my hair with a razor in the back ( my neck line)and she messed up cutting it too short then she tried to fix her mistake and completely ruined the back of my hair. She blew dry it flat when I went there asking for more VOLUME and I looked awful. You could not even see the low lights. I couldn't wait to get out of her chair and out of the salon. I am so upset I can't get my hair to style correctly and half way up the back of my head my hair is an inch long. It does NOT blend in with the longer top pieces of my hair and I will NEVER go back there for hair. Do not let Collette Meek touch your hair especially a razor cut. I was recommended to this salon by a lady I met at work. A very nice lady named Lauren did her nails, and had an amazing design. I went to try it out for myself. Boy was I surprised about how nice the people were including the girls at the front desk. Lauren did such a great job on my nails, and always does amazing and unique designs to fit me. I let her create her own designs. Honestly her designs look like they were stent staled. I couldn't believe how great. I will NEVER in my life go anywhere else. She is unbelievable with her talent. This salon is a JOKE and Patrick (one of the hairdresser's) is an even bigger joke!!! I should have gone with my gut and not ever returned to this salon that looks like it should be on an episode of "Hoarders" but I tried to give Patrick the benefit of the doubt. He proved to me three times in 2 months that he is not a true hair stylist. Hair stylists are detailed to a T, they ask what you want and follow what you ask of them. All he does is cut cut cut and RUN HIS MOUTH about his own problems. He dyed my hair Monday night and this is where the nightmare begins...all I wanted was blonde highlights in my already dark hair. When he took off the towel my head was orange! For whatever reason, the bleach dyed all of my crown, not just the parts he sectioned off (or didn't). I saw the panic in his eyes and he said "oh once I blow dry it, it will be ok". 15 minutes later and it still looked horrible. Instead of consoling and showing me he wants to repair it, and FIX THE MESS HE MADE ON MY HEAD, he was breathing heavily, stating "I'll be here till 10pm tonight and this is just more money that has to come out of my own pocket". No concern for his client's head he just ruined. I told him I would be back the next day (yesterday) for him to fix it. I walked in yesterday sat down in his chair and asked him what his co-worker said and was told "she says to wash it for 2 weeks". Uh, no that's not happening, you need to fix this today. "Ok then, I will just dye it back dark". No, that's not happening either, you're not going to just keep dying my hair and ruin my hair more than you already have. Then, and this is what triggered me the worst is he had the audacity to roll his eyes at me in the mirror to another stylist that was near us! You don't disrespect a client like that, let alone in front of her face! I got up cussed him out for being a shitty stylist and a joke and then told the manager what happened and she did absolutely NOTHING either to try and fix it. All he could say is "but I didn't charge you". You're damn right you didn't charge for me this mess you made on my HAIR. If he had handled yesterday differently, with some respect and compassion he would still have a client but instead I am telling anyone that is interested in going to him DO NOT, YOU WILL REGRET IT. The previous two times I saw him were for an initial short cut and then a trim. He took no time to LISTEN to what I wanted, he just chops and talks. I am absolutely livid over this. If you have any sense of what a true hair stylist is supposed to be, you will not go to Patrick. THIS WHOLE PLACE IS A JOKE. One star for the price - $25 for a haircut before tip. One star for a great shampoo with yummy-smelling conditioner and a brief head massage. That's where the experience ends. This was my first visit here, and I asked for only 2 things - a little less length to my hair, and a cut that I can style. Well, I got less length. Apparently, "style" here is defined as cutting about 5 strands of hair around my face a little shorter than the back. The back of my hair looked like I had someone chop it straight through in one swipe with a machete. I have very fine hair - and my stylist told me that you just can't do layers in fine hair, or it will just look thinner. Maybe SHE can't. I have personally had some GREAT layered haircuts from stylists who know how to do it on my hair type (many being Asian haircutters that really understand thin/straight hair!). The other problem is that even though my hair is thin, I do have a LOT of it... so when you chop it straight across like a ruler, it looks choppy and heavy. I didn't realize quite how bad it was going to look until I was already home (since I left the salon with wet hair)... by the time it was dry, it looked and felt like a heavy mess. I've had some bad haircuts in my day, but I did something today I have never done before... I re-cut my own hair. I have no experience or training with cutting hair, but out of sheer frustration (and figuring the worst that could happen was needing to get it fixed, which I was planning to do anyway), I stood in front of the mirror and did my best to snip little bits off the ends until the back no longer looked like the sharp edge of a ruler. It took a while, but it actually looks a lot better now than it did right after I came home. Now THAT is sad. read more

2nd time going to this salon for nails. Bad nail service. This time I paid 60 for a full set of gel nails. Within hours the first nail broke and product is chipping off. I'm a position where i interact with Executives on a daily basis. I want a full refund! I called to advise and told nothing that could be done the nail tech's are independent. The owner doesn't care who they do hire? I asked to be called back with resolution and told nothing could be done independent booth owners! I'm going to make sure everyone knows the owner of this place doesn't care. I'm going to FB, Fours Square, Tweet...everyone will know not to go here. I fly out tomorrow morning and they can't fix what they created. I can't believe this I could have gone to a different salon for half the money. I paid extra thinking they cared about the customer. Oh well guess not. You need to train your CS reps to better handle these types of calls. You as a owner obviously don't care!!!!! Now i'm on a flight and have to face Exec's looking like this!! The owner called me back after an hour and said she would refund only if i came back ...after i provided a picture of the crap job...i don't have time to go back..well i'm out the money for SHIT quality job...The owner just kept going on and on about her etichis ....Well if you really had any you would refund my money after view the pictures I sent you...You really don't care about my time or who you hire...then she proceeded to tell me how she's never had trouble with this person..instead of listening and looking at the proff i sent her...Her tech screwed up!!! Went in for my first time for a simple nail color change. Walking in I didn't know where to turn, the place is huge. And quiet. There was no other customers, yet the front desk had to go see if the lady could look at my nails and see if she could help me. I felt interrogated about why I didn't want anything extravagant, and when I was told $5, I handed her a $10 and she just pocketed it, no ask about change. She applied clear coat and said it dries in 2 minutes but looked at me like she wanted me to go away then. Very disappointed in the customer service of this place. I've been coming here for about two years now. ( once in a while ) I purchased tanning packages which are considerably less money than single tans. ( this seems Like a good value ) when o started coming here I use to complain about little things, like a bulb being out in a bed. Being new, I didn't know one bulb didn't make much difference. I just knew that I was paying for all of them to work. When ever I encountered this and mentioned it , they gave me a free tan (NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE, made me feel good!) ( AGAIN GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!) So ..... What drove me to post this, was my last experience. I was at home hanging out by the pool trying to squeeze in the last few Rays of sun after work, and didn't feel like I got it done ,so I jumped in my truck ,and drove to the salon. I got there and was out of tanning sessions , I was in my swim trunks with no cards or money, and was going to head home when HAILEY who is a very pleasant smilie young lady ,told me to go ahead and tan, and that I could pay, next time I came. I called on a Tuesday, which was my only day off, and the lady on the phone was very friendly and accomodating. I wanted an appointment with Noha since I had read good reviews about her on Yelp. Noha was off that day but she offered to call her at home to see if she wanted to come in. Noha called me later that morning and I met her at the Salon an hour later. She did a great job in listening to my needs, making suggestions, and then proceeded to color, trim and style my hair. She did cut off a little more than I had originally wanted, but she showed me prior to cutting, that due to my split ends she wanted to trim about an inch and a half. I was pleased with the results. The only reason I didn't give her 5 stars was the bangs were a bit shorter than what I like and the color was so subtle that my very observant husband didn't notice. However, it did cover the gray and in the sunlight it was more vibrant. I would go back. Also, I watched Christy (?) who had the chair right next to Noha. She did a great job on cutting and styling her clients (I observed her work on 3 while I was there). read more

i have only experienced getting my nails done here, but this is the worst experience at a nail salon that i have ever had. i got gel acrylics and all of my nails were done different shapes/ sizes. they also got the nail polish all over skin, and some of my nails were even darker than others. she even filed my nails after she had already polished them which made some of the nail polish come off. she also made my nails super thick, and they look bubbly. i should also mention that the lady was very rough, and would get a little frustrated when she would mess up. now my nails feel sore, and i will be going to a different salon to get them fixed. i will not be returning here to get my nails done ever again. read more

I visited the salon for the first time last night. I found them through yelp after my salon told me my stylist no longer worked there and they wouldn't get me in. I called and they got me an appointment an hour later with Bella. I arrived and was impressed by the size of the salon. They offer so many services in a welcoming clean environment. All of the ladies were sweet and friendly. Bella did a fantastic job on my hair and didn't try to talk me out of going short like a lot of other places do. She reviewed my pictures and gave me exactly the same cut. She recommended good products for my curly hair and was very personable. After the cut I got awesome compliments from the other girls working in the salon. I am so impressed with their services and reasonable prices. My cut was only $25! So much cheaper then my previous place for better quality work. All of their other services look very reasonable as well. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Our regular stylist went out on maternity leave and never came back. So, I bought many Groupons to many salons, looking for a replacement. I bought one for Shear Paradise, and have been happy ever since! I bought it for my daughter, who was randomly assigned to Candice. My teenage daughter is super picky, but gave Candice an A plus! A few months earlier, I had fried my hair so bad, that i never wore it down anymore. I was told by numerous stylists that my only choice was to cut it off, the damage too severe. Candice told me she could help me, that I wouldn't need to cut it. I was skeptical, so she said to just let her try, she had an awesome mask that she guranteed would help, no charge. I had previously tried many deep conditioning treatments at salons, and no improvement. Imagine my SHOCK, when I saw a significant change in my hair's texture. Over the next few months I came in for regular teatments, and now have my hair back to normal! No cutting it off! Candice is amazing! I will never go anywhere else! The owner is wonderful. My stylist was not good! She took a razor to my hair and 'framed' my face w/ super short, uneven layers. Now it looks like I have a mullet, with clumps of hair missing. She also used too much product, and I went home straight away to wash my hair. This was not worth $40! Unless you want to shave your head I would recommend you look elsewhere for a haircut. This was my first initial visit to a salon, ever! Being very hesitant to have someone other than my mother color/ cut my hair, I went in with an open mind. Having spa-finder coupons, my visit was based solely on reviews I had read online. I arrived at the salon thinking I was right on time for my appointment, but apparently I had written it down wrong. I accepted the fact that I was at fault, but was very taken back when I was told they tried calling me several times. I was never called. After this fiasco I had my nail and appointment swapped. Thankfully ROCKIE was able to get me in ahead of time! ROCKIE is very personable, quick, and awesome at doing hair. I would highly recommend her to anyone. When it was time for my nails, I saw DEBBIE she was also very friendly and SOO conscious of her work, and that it be perfect and exactly what YOU want. Overall I rate Sheer Paradise a 3! It's very clean and cute. As for professionalism of the front desk, I feel, it lacks. I went in on a Saturday not looking up to my usual standard, making it a lazy comfortable day for myself!!
