When you need to change your oil, you want to spend money, or you just want to spend some time in a customer lounge- you should be able to do it...well not at this Ford dealership. Nope can't do it. I've spent a week trying to get a simple oil change for a little truck. Called Monday? No we are full they said, how about next week. Called Christmas Eve? No we are busy, how about next week they asked. I really need it now as I put 800 miles a week on the little truck--called Thursday? No sorry, but... we have the quick lane for oil changes, if you get here really early, like at 7am we can get you in tomorrow. We only take walk-Ins from 7am until 11am. GREAT I'll get there at 7am...Friday morning at 7am first in line, I say I was told to get here early for an oil change. Girl behind counter, "I don't think so, I only have one technician and I have 6 appointments before you"..? I was told yesterday to get here early, answer, I didn't work yesterday. My answer, BYE FOREVER. Btw, I was given $100 credit from the last time due to service was so bad. Get it together Sheehy service because sheehy service can hurt business. Maybe it's because my lil truck is 17 years old and you only work on newer trucks, hum, another place was glad to get my oil change today.Ha! read more

I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR OR TRUCK FROM SHEEHY FORD AGAIN!!! I bought my truck from them around 2 years ago and had problems from the start. the first being my tires felt like they were gonna fall off. I got it looked at over 6 times with them never finding the problem. I took it to an actual mechanic and they told me one of the tires had a broken band in it. I also had to get them to put a tire jack in my truck because it didn't come with one. i also got them to supposedly fix my parking brake which didn't work from day one.They said that the parking brake line was out of adjustment. Come to find out from my mechanic the parking brake was worn so bad there was no pad left on it. Sheehy passed my trucks inspection twice while this was messed up. These guys are smucks for real. If i was there service manager i would fire and rehire everyone. They are a joke and i can tell by all their reviews that i'm not the only one who thinks that. Please do not waste your time these guys, they also told me my battery and brakes were bad on several occasions in which they were not bad. I test batteries for a living and at no time did my battery fail. When i went to change my brakes nothing was wrong with them.This place could use a better manager. Just as a followup, the car was repaired by a mechanic at Station One on Hilton Head Island and he guessed what it was before he even looked at it. It was the rear wheel bearings. It is running great and he did NOT see any oil leaking from the Power Transfer Unit. I WILL NEVER GO TO SHEEHY AGAIN!!! The actual service here was fine. My major concern was the lack of COVID-19 safety precautions. The state and county have clear ordinances on masks. COVID-19 is real and at the time of service, more contagious variants were on the rise. Yet, mask use was not enforced. After someone sat within 3 ft of me, I left the waiting area on what was a very cold day and walked to Starbucks. I mentioned to the service manager and all I got was, "Yeah, I feel your pain." Safety for employees and customers matter. If people can't wear a mask, then they should wait outside. read more

I came in today for a quick oil change that I MADE AN APPOINTMENT for. Two hours pass as I'm sitting in the waiting room, so I go up to one of the men to ask how much longer it will be. He then tells me it has not even been started yet. So it's now been 2 1/2 hours and I have still not gotten my car back. I pay extra a month for VIP service. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. read more

Everything on their website is priced at KBB prices but Bc this truck was a blue one with a panoramic roof they decided they were going to use NADA because the price was higher. DO NOY BUY VIP service package, it's a complete waste of money and the employees are rude! I just called for an oil change and was curtly informed "um we are booked until next Monday" (it's Tuesday today)... so how VIP is that? I can drive down the street and get in and out in 10 mins TODAY! Very frustrating since this was the first time I was able to get someone on the phone to even attempt to schedule. I made multiple attempts Saturday and after being passed around to 4 different people I was sent to the coordinator who wouldn't pick up. Horrible customer service! read more

I am writing this review due to a VERY bad experience. I couldn't, in all good conscious, mislead those who are considering using their Service Department. Although Jessica Wells continues to be a ray of sunshine in a less-than-honest department, it's not enough to continue using this dealership's Service Department. As mentioned in my previous reviews, I have, in the past, purchased several vehicles at Sheehy. I always had my vehicles serviced there. I own a Fusion, two Escapes, and a Focus which were all regularly serviced at Sheehy. A few months ago, I took my Fusion in for regularly scheduled maintenance and asked them to check to see what was making a noise within the engine compartment. I told the Service Advisor (SA) (who no longer works there) I thought it was the tensioner pulley but couldn't be sure. After some time elapsed, the SA came over and told me that all 20 of my lug nuts needed to be replaced. At $9 per nut, I was more than a little curious. He stated they were warped from "heat" and couldn't be placed back on the car. Strange I thought, especially since several of the lug nuts had been replaced by Sheehy just a few months prior. Then the SA stated they found the offending pulley and replaced it at a cost of approximately $300. This is where things started to get bad. I went out and started the car and the noise I was hearing was still as evident as when I initially took it in. I immediately went back in and told the SA the noise was still present. He came out and with a very condescending shrug of his shoulders, told me it must be the alternator. And for only $600 more, they could replace that as well. What??? I flatly stated I would not have them do any more work until I had the car checked out by a third party. I took the Fusion to a local mechanic the next day. He quickly isolated the noise. Surprise...it was the tensioner pulley as I had initially told the SA. So I spent $200 to have it replaced and the car was then right as rain. I contacted the Service Department manager, Mr. Rick Cheever, and told him about my concerns and asked him how was Sheehy going to "make this right". His answer was that the SA was a bit difficult to work with and was no longer employed there. Great. So what about the $700 I spent getting my car fixed properly ($500 at Sheehy and $200 at the local mechanic)? Crickets chirping. I even contacted the General Manager of Sheehy, Mr. Mike Lorton, via email several times. Zero response. Again, crickets chirping. I will no longer purchase a vehicle from Sheehy. How can I buy a vehicle where I have no faith in the Service Department? Since this occurred, I have purchased a 2016 Escape Titanium at another dealership and am preparing to purchase a 2016 Fusion Titanium from another dealership. I do genuinely feel sorry for Mr. William Goin who was my salesperson for my other vehicle purchases. I never had any issues with him yet he finds himself losing my business because of the antics of the Service Department. The only work Sheehy will ever perform on my vehicles is the free VIP oil changes on two of my vehicles. Once I use the four, which are pre-paid, I will go elsewhere for the remainder of the year. I'm no mathematician, but I think the $500 they deceptively charged me is far less than the money they would have made selling me new vehicles and having them all serviced there. I guess the management lives for the day and doesn't really have a sound strategic business model. Their loss I guess. read more

Worst experiences ever. Taken car there three times and had a bad experience every time. No one ever answers calls to help resolve issues. No one ever returns calls to help resolve issues. They can't even do an oil change or fix a tire without causing some kind of an issue. Absolutely would never buy a car from these folks if I were you. This dealership is absolutely horrific. They sold me a car knowing how rusty it was and covered it up. I bought a used truck 2 years ago and am just know dealing with horrible rust issues on rocker panels and can corners. My body shop guy even showed me where they undercoated the frame to cover up rust so they could sell it. This is despicable. I purchased a brand new F150 2015 supercab. I inquired about getting a ford bed liner installed for free as I was purchasing a new truck. They said they couldn't do it which I accepted. I asked how much it would cost to purchase it and have installed, they quoted me $500.00. I opted not to do it . I went home looked up the exact same ford bed liner on the official ford site and I was quoted $400.00 installed. Aside from being a stand up, fantastic guy, he knows his stuff! He's always who I try to get my appointments through. He goes out of his way to make sure all of the issues I contact him about are handled as quickly as possible. He communicates clearly and frequently, giving regular updates. The ladies in the car rental section here are great to work with, too. They've always been quick to respond to me when I've needed a vehicle to use while my van was being worked on. Honestly, I can't see me going anywhere else to have my van worked on or serviced and I'll likely continue buying Ford vehicles because of the trust I have in Stephen and the individuals who work in the service area. read more

My 2001 Ford Escape was randomly shutting off, so I had it towed to Sheehy on Thursday morning - no service appointment. Called as it was on the way and learned the first available appointment was Monday morning, but they would try hard to look at it sooner. Daniel called back about 90 minutes later to say they had taken an initial look, and he had some questions. We discussed, and he promised to call back soon. Daniel called back within the hour to let me know it was the fuel pump and filter. He had it fixed that day - and I didn't even have an appointment! Daniel was great at calming my fears and making sure I understood everything along the way. Great experience! read more

I got a great price on my 2011 Escape Limited with low mileage. It didn't take long to reach our negotiated price and Pete Clark was GREAT. It really felt like he was working as hard as he could for me. I financed through Sheehy and that took some time, but finance whiz Phil did a nice job finding me a loan with a decent rate. The only downfall was the amount of time it took to do the paperwork and get the vehicle cleaned and gassed up to go. I was there from around 12:00 noon to at least 4:30. However, I know that's not unheard of in car buying and I was offered the use of Pete's computer, printer, and fax machine to complete work with the insurance company. If I'm still in the Richmond area next time I buy a car, I will definitely go to Sheehy first! read more

I purchased a used 2013 Boss 302 from this dealership in early July, 2015, which about 9,200 miles. After agreeing to the purchase, we waited for 90 minutes to two hours for the finance department, even though we were paying for the car with a cashier's check. The salesmen disappeared, and we sat, waiting, and waiting, and waiting ..... Except, of course, for a couple of visits from other employees trying to upsell protectants, etc. Even though the dealership was running a barbeque, no one bothered to offer food or snacks. While we were examining the car, the salesmen assured us the trackey was properly programmed and functioning, in spite of repeated questions and concerns from us. Upon arrival in California, the vehicle was inspected by CHP to verify the VIN, and which time we discovered the car had been in a collision which did not appear on the Carfax report as it was not paid by an insurance claim. This was not disclosed by the dealer. Further investigation into the trackey, requiring several visits to a local Ford dealer, revealed the trackey programming had been corrupted, resulting in a service change to reprogram the key. A report to Sheehy management yielded no response, other than a claim the it was fine when the vehicle left the lot. I also had to have the wheels spin-balanced and an alignment performed, resulting in additional charges. The service enter reported that significant adjustments were required to properly align the vehicle. It will be no surprise that I suggest you take your business and cash elsewhere. read more

My wife and I had a terrible experience at Sheehy Ford Midlothian. Once we decided on the car, the salesman was going to show us how the voice command on Bluetooth worked. We sat in the car and waited but he could not get it recognize a call name. After about 25 minutes of trying, he gave up and told us we could play with it later at home. We later found out that it did not have a navigation system in like it was supposed to have. We also found out that it does not have "sync my ford" abilities. About a month later, I was on the web and noticed a Ford recall for my vin number because of a faulty fuel pump. When I called and spoke to the GM at Sheehy ford about this recall he told me it was not a recall. We argued and finally I ended the call. I would NOT recommend Sheehy Ford to my worst enemy. I own a 2014 Ford Focus, I am having issues with my transmission, which Ford knows is a problem. I have already had the clutch (torque converter, automatic transmission) replaced 2 years ago. My warranty was up in June, they wanted $2,500.00 to replace this same thing again knowing that this is a flaw in these cars. There is/was a class action suit against this issue and still Ford does not stand behind there vehicles. I will never buy another Ford. The dealership said to call Ford Customer Service, which did nothing and the dealership also did nothing. My car should not have these problems being only 5 years old. read more

This was the easiest car purchase I have ever made. First, our sale representative Eric H. went above and beyond while making the purchase. He was busy with a customer but took a few mins out to see if I needed help. After he got done with his customer he helped me look at 4 different pickup trucks and was very knowledgeable about every one we looked at. We test drove all 4 models until I found the right one and he was there every step of the way. He stayed well after closing hours to make sure I knew about all options and explained every one! All the sales people see is a young man looking at a truck with his parents and think I will take full advantage of this family. Not a good experience. Never met a dealer like this. Have purchased 14 Mustangs in my life, owned two Shelby's, purchased 44 cars since I was 16. These guys...will walk away form a deal over their $300 fee, and WILL NOT deal with you like any dealer I've met before. I've had my last 4 Toyotas delivered with the paperwork and done the deals at my house, at my work, and also at Bass Pro Shops. They won't sell you anything unless you are there in person, and when you're a state away, not being willing to deliver is ridiculous. Enjoy selling your specialty top end Mustang to someone else. We all know why - when you get there you want the deal to "change" and tons of backend FI shams. Well, I'll be ordering a 2020 Shelby GT500 from my Ford Dealer in Goldsboro. What a bizarre dealership. They are actively trying not to sell cars. The first time we went, we were there for 30 minutes before anyone helped us. We listened to two salesmen argue in parking lot. We went back again, because of an internet price. What a joke. Price online was $49,000 . They were willing to sell it to us for $200 MORE plus tax/tag/title. Carlos, our sales person was nice but clueless. Kept asking for silly thing like drivers license, phone number etc to get price. The decision maker was too busy to talk to us. We told them we were buying a car this weekend. Carlos could not stop talking about Sheehy difference. He fumbled through the sales points over and over again. Never mind the fact that we arrived in a 2015 car with sheehy licence plate brackets. When we left, the door was blocked by 4 silly employees playing some prank on each other. Completely unprofessional. I guess we are driving to Gaithersburg to get buy our car. We like Sheehy. We ha e bought 2 cars in the last 2 years from them (Ashland). We are not going to hold Sheehy Richmond store behavior again the brand. My husband commented that this must be Sheehy "low rent" store. I recently purchased a new 2017 Ford F150 XLT from Sheehy of Warrenton. I live in Central Virginia and would have purchased the truck from Sheehy of Richmond except I couldn't come to terms with Calvin McHenry. Sheehy of Warrenton sold me the truck for the exact advertised internet price (which was offered on both Sheehy of Warrenton and Richmond's website). When I contacted Calvin to attempt to purchase that exact vehicle locally he quoted me an out the door price $1,500 more than Warrenton (keep in mind they are both Sheehy dealers and offer to transfer the vehicle). When I asked Calvin why he couldn't do the same deal he said: "At this point, I strongly recommend you attempt to get printed numbers from that location and then you will see what I have stated." Calvin was saying they quoted me the price in error and included rebates for which I didn't qualify. In a different email Calvin said' "You will see what I'm talking about as you attempt to get the same printout I sent you without any hassle from them." And in another email he said, " If, and I say that with a strong if... If they honor that price when you arrive, run with that deal because that pricing is crazy and ours is already crazy too! " he went on to say, "I'm telling you that they aren't going to honor that price because it has extra rebates included that you will not qualify for." I assumed Sheehy Warrenton and Richmond were under the same umbrella since their website has trucks from both locations and mentions for $300 a truck can be transferred from one location to another. In my case I don't see how one Sheehy location can offer a truck for sale $1,500 less than another. Not only was Calvin unwilling to make the deal, he actively tried to sabotage the deal I had made with Sheehy's Warrenton location. At no point did the Warrenton location try to change the price or offer my anything other that what was agreed upon, all of which Calvin said they would not do. After this experience I am a BIG fan of Sheehy of Warrenton and their salesman Mathias. I wish I could say the same for Sheehy's Richmond location. Calvin was snarky in his communication and spoke of the Warrenton location in a very unflattering light. While I appreciate Calvin being upfront with me about not being able to match Warrenton's price on literally the identical vehicle it was still an unpleasant experience. I will discourage everyone I know from buying a car or truck from Sheehy of Richmond based on my recent experience. read more

Unsatisfied: Bare Minimal Service from Sheehy Ford in their Service Department in Richmond Virginia. Being in the military for 23 years, I know a thing or two about service. When I came into the Sheehy Ford Dealership in the morning for an oil & valve cover gasket servicing. I felt Jeff Dowdy (customer service representative) in the Service Department was slow getting to his desk when I showed up at 8:30am. Another customer service representative covered for him in the beginning. Once Jeff finally showed up after about a quarter of hour or so later, he was quick and effective in telling me they can replacing the gaskets in no time... I am thinking, great, this place is not wasting my time! So I came back in three hours which my vehicle was finished. So Jeff Dowdy ask if I would like to have the 'Service Engine Soon' Indicator Light turned off. I was thinking this is unprofessional for a Ford Dealership to fix an issue & forgot to turn off the Engine Indicator Light... Attention of detail is definitely lacking at Sheehy Ford Dealership. I told him, Yes, please clear the code which he did quickly. Jeff completed the transaction & out the door I went. No Resolution: About 10 miles down the road, the Engine Indicator Light when off. So I called Jeff Dowdy at the Sheehy Ford Dealership. I ask him about the gaskets and why the Engine Light is ON again. He stated, we only performed the gasket maintenance and no other troubleshooting (no diagnostics) was done on the vehicle even though the Engine Light was ON. He then blamed it on one of his coworkers for not telling him I wanted the problem fixed. He referred to the problem as my issue that Sheehy Ford Dealership did not do a vehicle diagnostics. The bottom line was Jeff Dowdy was unfriendly and unhelpful in solving my issue. I have zero confidence & trust in this individual. I move down the road and get it fix somewhere else. I've been to all 50 states and I've been to many Ford Dealerships around the country, too. I would not recommend the Sheehy Ford Dealership in Richmond VA. It definitely lacks Commitment to Service. On Monday May 21st I took my 2012 Escape w/ 19,900 miles in for my "VIP" service appointment. After about 2 hours my horror story began. I was "advised strongly" by Samantha that my brake lines needed to be flushed and fluid changed due to a slight pinkish color. Oh! and also my fuel injectors needed service!! She, and her technician, filled my mind with tales of doom if this work was not done and pressured me for approval. When I inquired as to why, being the vehicle was running perfectly with no issues at all, she got snippy as if to say "how dare I question them". I am an 82 year old who trusted them to do what is right. After an unexpected and unneeded $332 bill I can now "STRONGLY" recommend that those who read this NEVER ever trust them and in fact, never give them your business. I came to this conclusion after speaking anonymously to three different Ford service managers from varying locations in Virginia. They all unanimously agreed that this work was unnecessary and was in the realm of normal conditions. Nothing to be concerned over. I was pressured and taken advantage of. The store's management offered a small discount to appease me but no apologies for the unappreciated pressure they applied to get the work. He did what was expected, covered their butt! read more
