I purchased a 2024 Ford Maverick from Sheehy in early December 2024. I am happy with the compact pickup, but I was not prepared for having my trade-in vehicle so astonishingly undervalued in the process. The first interactions with sales office were positive and friendly, but when the trade-in was priced so absurdly low, I asked for more. They then brought out the sales manager (beware the tag-team!), and that's when the experience became *uncomfortable* and, as I reflect on it, regrettable, even disappointing. He spoke with the tongue of aggressive capitalism, interrupting, insisting that Kelley Blue Book values were meaningless to them, and doggedly repeating that they were being fair in their assessment of my trade-in's value--a vehicle they had spent practically no time inspecting. I felt somewhat stuck having to make a compromise, as the bottom line pricing after $998 dealer fees (which they said is how the dealership "makes a profit") and other fees rounded up to what the sticker price was before what was advertised as "dealer discounts." The lending process was also chaotic, as they didn't know I was putting cash down, and they went ahead with the payments and interest rates anyway because, by that time in the day, the credit union where they had secured the best payments had closed for the weekend. This is all to say: if you approach this dealership to purchase a vehicle with a trade-in, carry with you a shark cage to buffer you from the sharpest and most aggressive sales tactics in the commonwealth. They're a high volume dealership and so proud of this achievement that they will tell you about it from the get-go. Their selection is impressive, indeed; vehicles are parked all over the place, even on the sidewalks. I get it that the marketplace rarely favors the consumer these days, but whew, friend, the experience was rough. I do like the vehicle I ended up purchasing. Just wouldn't wish this brambled experience on anyone. read more

Absolutely terrible car buying experience! My son purchased a used 2019 Ford F250 2 weeks ago. Was not able to take it home immediately because they had not yet performed their 139 point inspection, and there was an open recall that needed to be addressed. They also promised to thoroughly detail the truck. 2 WEEKS LATER we finally get the truck delivered after threatening to cancel the sale. There is no documentation that anything was actually done, including the recall. No evidence this 139 point inspection was completed. And the truck was not even detailed: dog hair in the back seat, empty bottle in the truck bed, dirty cupholders and dash. And now we can't get anyone from Service or Finance to call us back to provide documentation that the inspection and recall were actually done! Absolutely terrible customer experience; we will never buy here again and will tell everyone we know not to as well. We may yet end up returning this truck! read more

Finance officer was rude, disrespectful, and unwilling to offer any assistance for a contract issue within my lease. I was conducting a lease buy out at this office because my original dealer is no longer a Lincoln dealer. This dealership chose to charge me full tax, title, tag and admin fees to convert my lease to a purchase when my contract stated I was only to be charged $500 to convert the lease to purchase. I have been a loyal Ford customer for over 30 years. I can not believe that this is normal customer service from Ford. Ford/Lincoln should have a system in place for customers dealing with a dealership that is no longer operating to handle these issues. read more

Took my 18 Explorer to Sheehy for a transmission leak after about two days I received a phone call stating that there is no transmission leak got charged 92.50. Transmission still was leaking fluid so I went to a transmission shop and got the leak fixed! I will not be going to Sheehy Ford again!! read more

Service dept is way Overpriced! I brought my truck in for a broken tail light. They quoted me $2126 to replace it!! They said the tail light would cost $1500 from Ford, which means they were charging me $626 to install it. The install is removing two screws, taking a plug loose and then reconnecting the plug on the new light and installing the screws again. Literally takes under 10 minutes. What was more frustrating is that I found the tail light from another Ford dealer for $1100. Rip off! read more

Numbers were fair and beat the competitors right out the gate. Coordinated the majority of the sale remotely and then scheduled a date to drive onsite to close the deal. Was told car was ready to be picked up around 11am. Got there at 3:30 or so and checked in with service advisor. was told someone would bring the car around. Went out and waited FIFTEEN minutes and nothing. The guy that came in after me has his car brought around. went in and said what going on? was told it's on it's way. waited another FIVE minutes. I'm $3,500 into motors in my dashboard that were all burnt out because I needed the drains cleaned out from my sunroof. When I brought it in for repair of the first two motors, they fixed them, but did not clear those drains. after that repair, I started to look for the root cause of the issue and found that water was backing up in the dash because the drains were clogged. Fixed it by looking at YouTube videos and cleared them out myself with a five dollar can of compressed air. I called the dealership and asked why they didn't recommend that cleaning when they replaced the first $2,000 worth of motors. The representative at the time said it was a bad thing that they hadn't recommended it when they replace the two motors. I just took it back in to have another $1,200 repair to replace the motor for the defrost. I won't be buying my next car from there. read more

Within one month the problem was back, and I was told I would have to pay the full cost for More diagnostics. For reference, I already diagnosed the issue and provided that information, paid for the shop diagnostic, paid for full tire, oil, and inspection (those were only moderately inflated), and was told I would pay again to fix what wasn't fixed. That alone is what I would expect from a third-party random shop, but I tend to actually get better service than this from those places than at Sheehy. So what was the problem? Cylinder misfires. Not an uncommon problem given the age and milage. I have personal experience with rebuilding engines and have performed a full ignition system upgrade myself before (all best-of-the-best components, no expense spared). What did that full engine rebuild (top of the line gaskets, a sensor, spark plugs, coil packs, and spark plug boots) on another vehical cost me in terms of parts? $600 and about 2 unrushed hours for the ignition system (another 4 to create custom tools for some ​of the bolts for the head gasket). What did Sheehy quote just the spark plugs, coil packs, and boots as? $2,000 including the 'diagnostic'. What did Sheehy quote just replacing a single coil pack as? $240 A reasonable coil pack (OEM or better) for this make and model van costs about $40 (and you can get a pack of 8 for $240), and a very nice one will be around $80. A good mechanic should be able to replace one in under half and hour. At $130/hr, that price only makes sense for a full hour for VERY high quality coil packs (and by that, I mean I can't find any that cost $110 each). I have never seen such overpriced service or parts in all my life. read more

I had a piece of metal in my tire and left my vehicle there for a tire repair or replacement in the morning. When I returned in the afternoon, they told me there was no issue. My tire pressure was low when I got in my vehicle. When they found the metal it was too late to get a tire so I had to drive my rental back to Northern Virginia and come back the next day to get my vehicle. I had to complain to several people before a manager addressed my issue. I had to ask them to credit me for the rental fee of $45, which they did. The service and customer service was not good. read more

Salesman JR was great, so my initial impression was based upon the customer service he provided. The financing phase was disappointing. I changed my mind about added options after leaving the dealership so immed. emailed the finance mgr & phoned early the next morning. The FM was out so I spoke to another employee to request the change. When I asked if I was too late, I was instantly told that the add-on option had already been completed. Turns out, that was totally untrue as my car was still going through the multi-point inspection. I love my suv but my overall experience was soured by the employee's aim to sell a product instead of being honest with a new customer. read more

Took my car in for an inspection and they quoted me $1000+ for a new battery, brakes and rooters, oil change, and headlights. which is wayyyyyy to high they quoted me $873.84 for new brakes and rooters that which obviously is ridiculous so I went to the advanced auto parts and got brakes for $36 and rooters for $76 so that sums up why I won't be going back or recommend them to anyone. The only reason I gave one star is because they were quick. read more

The keypad on my 2013 Explorer was not working reliably. The technician said sheehy determined that it was not working in a completely consistent manner. There are diagnostic efforts, however, did return the system to an acceptable level of functioning. To replace the entire door panel containing the keypad, if it comes to that, would cost several hundred dollars. So Sheehy 's as allowed me to continue to use my keypad and postpone a more expensive repair. read more

They are always friendly and try to take care of issues when I call. Sometimes they are busy and I have to in most cases not very long. They are proactive and call to set upcoming scheduled maintenance around the due time. The pickup and return service is great. I've been a customer for more than 10 years. read more

Pleased we were to find Sheehy of Richmond could handle the size and weight of our Ford F53 based class A Motorhome (a rarity even among truck dealers). Repairs indicated by our flashing engine light were completed in a timely manner. John (leader for RV repair) took extra time to share good maintenance tips. Only negative was their backlog of RV work, but John indicated construction was planned for Sheehy of Ashland to also work on the truck part of RVs. read more

I returned about 3:45 pm and had to wait until 5:15 to finally get my vehicle back. Absolutely the worst. My car broke down (Ford Escape) and since they have serviced it for a few years, I had it towed there. From calling to make an appointment onward, Sheehy was unprofessional and difficult to deal with. Our contact in the service department was very hard to reach. The car needed a new transmission and the response was basically, "too bad, we don't have the parts and we can't get the parts. We'll give you $500 as a trade-in only." As if I would continue dealing with this company?!?! After years of less than impressive service (the service department can never fix anything because according to them, nothing is EVER wrong with the car, and so on...) I have owned and driven Fords for YEARS but have now very happily switched to another brand and a dealership that goes above and beyond for their customers. read more

The communication between sales and service as well as within the service department is terrible. The attention to detail and care that your vehicle is treated correctly is almost nonexistent issues that identified at the time of test drive that were supposed to have been taken care of by purchase or not then, I had to pay to get them to fix an obvious problem after they delivered the vehicle to my house because they were locking Lugnuts on the vehicle but no key in the vehicle upon delivery after my first review of that situation they offered to refund the money that I never should've had to pay in the first place And offered to fix the transmission that they were supposed to have checked in the first place. My experience with them is more like buying a used Honda then a luxury vehicle the vehicle was not cleaned inside or out upon return. There was no quality control inspection done. The transmission is still not right, still hard and returned with other issues that may not have had anything to do with the work that they did, but if there was any quality control check, they would've at least identified those and told me what it would cost to repair them instead they returned the vehicle with the folding step Non-operating on one side and operating intermittently on the other side. It worked just fine when I dropped it off as it turns out it could be a battery issue going bad it could be dirt up inside of them which would've been fixed. Should have done a proper wash job, the service manager has tried to fix it but the service department is somewhere I don't trust and this is sad because I have a motorhome and they offer a great plan. I'm learning about for seven years a package including five oil changes a year on a motorhome for seven years, but I don't trust they do the job right I will not purchase or service that ever again. Richmond Ford on the other hand has been fixing the problems the first time keeping me in the loop telling me what else they findand leaves me feeling I can trust them she he not so much. I commend them for making an effort after I did my first review I received apology calls, and they offered to fix it, but I feel it was fraudulent that they charge my warranty for something that we all knew existed prior. to purchasing the vehicle was identified to sales staff, and according to the story sales staff failed to tell service staff about something that anyone with any knowledge of vehicles at all would've known was a problem which tells me that there was not a good inspection or service on the vehicle prior to placing it up for sale or delivering it the customer relations manager was great, but there is absolutely no way that she should be expected to make the mechanics do quality work and check everything over. I will have to wait to get my navigator fixed because now it is a warranty issue that I will be bringing to another dealer and paying out-of-pocket for because the warranty company is not going to pay for it after work was already done and I'm not going to go back to Sheehy I would say the service manager seems to have tried but just does not have skilled workers or is not managing his workers or both and the customer relations manager tried but she is not an ASC certified transmission, technician or mechanic so I give two stars because the efforts of those two individuals were four stars for the service manager and five stars for the customer relations manager But their promises fell short, leaving me with a $60,000 headache that I will have to come up with more money to get fixed elsewhere. The actual quality of work and quality control I rate negative -10 stars so I'll give it an overall experience of two stars. read more

Initially i brought my car in for recall and was told that my car was good to go only to have to bring the car back the next day to tell me the car needed a new battery and hose replacement this is the third time I've brought in my vehicle for repairs mind you the vehicle was just purchased a year ago. when I brought the vehicle back they found new issues that weren't found the previous day such as a ecm and 4 wheel directional replacement. I was told the part wasn't in so it would be an additional 4 days. When asked for a loaner I was told there weren't any available and they wouldn't cover a rental now I'm out of pocket additional funds without transportation. everyone's time was surely wasted. They didn't fix the part I called SPECIFICALLY about (a broken and ripped rubber piece above my driver side tire) and a small leak in the tire (I also explained that the leak was not of importance but still chose to SOLELY "fix" that). I bought the car from another Ford dealership and they explained to me with the warranty I should have no issues going to another Sheehy for free maintenance and repairs, which is the only reason I chose to come here. I explained to them I had full coverage warranty and everything and was told no problem, they had my claim information yet I was still charged $40 to patch the tire. My car sat overnight for absolutely no reason. Here we are not even THREE WEEKS later and my tire pressure light is back on so whatever they did to "fix the leak" clearly did not work. I also don't drive an absurd amount so there's no way that's possible. I whole heartedly believe they just put air in it and called it a day. My car sat overnight for not even the bare minimum of the work I asked for. Then got told to just "glue the rubber piece back on." I didn't pay an arm and a leg for a full coverage warranty to do these fixes myself, so why the hell did I bring my car to you guys? Didn't fix the actual problem I needed fixed, and then half assed the job you charged me for, then told me what to do to fix it. Absolute waste of time and definitely disappointing. Got The Works package and front end alignment recently done at Sheehy in Midlothian. Actually was able to get an appointment within a week of the request which was good. Service was done in about 2 hours which was good. Only issue I have is the exorbitant charges for the Works package. In Sept of 2022 the cost was $48.31. Charge went up to $99 last August of 2023 and this past week I had to pay $133. Way too high in my opinion. read more
