He discovered a slab leak and listed several options. He is probably one of the most "real one's" there are out there. He does not just come to do a job, but genuinely cares about each of his customers. He tries to establish a relationship with his customers by making it feel like he is taking care of a family member. He tries to get to know you and is willing to hold a conversation with you and hear you out. Plumbing issues can be very expensive and Stephen is sensitive to that. It is never a great time to get plumbing work done, but Stephen is there to talk with you, hear you out, and just be someone who genuinely cares about the customer. I will be using Jim and Son's for any plumbing needs in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone. I wish I remembered the name of the other plumber that helped him out during the job, but he was awesome as well. Again, he understood the importance of customer service and making sure that customers are left with a great experience in addition to getting the work done. 6/5 stars if I could.

That's when I searched for a local family owned company that Had good reviews. Jims was straight to the point. Stephen came out and methodically figured out what pipe the leak was coming from. He showed me proof and explained it to me. It was under the cement slab in our garage. I was not happy about the possibility of tearing out concrete. He suggested running the pipe above ground where it would be accessible. He rerouted the line and used materials that saved me money. Instead of taking several days, it was done by lunch. I cant say enough good things about these guys. They really helped me out of a scarey spot. I highly reccomend them. They are ethical, honest and don't waste time. I owe them my thanks.

He quickly diagnosed our water pressure issue--our main valve was sitting at a dangerous 100 PSI--and installed a new 1-inch Zurn Wilkins regulator (our old one was 24 years old!). He also performed a hydro-jetting service on our main line to clear out all the debris. Giovanni was polite, professional, upfront with pricing, and worked incredibly efficiently. I also really appreciate the client portal they supply--it made it super easy to view my paid invoices and will be great for keeping track of any future estimates all in one place. The whole job was completed for a very fair price with great warranties included. It's rare to find plumbers this honest, organized, and thorough. Highly recommend Javier from R&R!…read more Our bathroom had 2 issues. The shower had 2 points of discharge and water came out from both ends when we turn on the water. The control switch was not working properly and it appears to have something broken inside the switch. The second was the bathtub was dripping for months. Our property manager gave us some recommendation on handyman, and we reached out to a few others. Everyone of the handyman looked at the issues and said they couldn't do it. Javier from R&R was professional and friendly. He came, looked at the problems and gave us multiple options. We were told that our bathroom fixtures were on the older end, and replacement parts would be pretty slim. Javier said he would try his best to find ways to fix our problems, and if it can't be fix, then he would have to go with the full remove and replace option. Needless to say, the cheaper option would be less than half the price of the worst case scenario. We were presented with the cheaper options to be less than $1000, while the worst case scenario would be in the mid $2000 with our drywall cut open in order to do the fixture replacement. We would also had to then deal with redoing the drywall since that is not part of the company's scope of work. Javier came back after we accepted the estimate and was able to fix everything faster than I thought. To my surprised, he was able to find the replacement parts and fix everything. My experience with Javier and R&R has been exceptional. I highly recommend R&R to anyone with plumbing issue like i had.

I hesitate to write this for two reasons. First, at the end of the day, our installation is complete and two, because I've read their responses to other negative reviews. But I have decided to go forward with it because I would want someone to "warn" me if I were about to spend a pretty penny with them. We were originally introduced to Sheldon's by Sam's club. I believe it was Todd who did the original quote with my husband. He was sold on their professionalism and quality. We were told it would take one but possibly two days to install new AC, furnace, ducting, vents and return. Like any working adult, I took the day off for the installation. The first hint of a problem was when I was told the vents would not be replaced. They decided on the spot that ours looked new enough plus they were never packed on the truck. The rest of the day seemed to run smoothly. Nothing big came up and the guys were working hard in the heat so I grabbed a couple pizzas. The plan was that the installers were going to give me a heads up when they were 1 hour from completion so my husband could run to the bank and get a cashiers check. Around 4 o'clock (from the best of my memory) I called him and he came right home with it. As soon as they "finished" and turned on the air he knew something wasn't right. He climbed in the attic and found that the new ducting was not being run to our vents leaving the most damaged/shredded to pump air directly into our attic. When confronted with his findings, the lead hvac tech claimed they had planned on coming back the next day to finish the job. Other then during the quote, this was the first we'd been notified of a second day on the job. When my husband refused to sign the completion documents and make the final payment until the job was done, they became frustrated and said they would have to approve it through a manager. Day two went a little more smoothly as my husband (who had to take a day off that wasn't planned) was there and was adamant about checking all their work prior to them leaving. My memory fails me as I can't remember if the vents were replaced that day or if they were brought another day. Either way, they were done. Once they received payment we were told they would send the inspection package ASAP. When we didn't receive the packet after 6 weeks, we called and found out it had been sitting on someone's desk all that time. Fast forward a couple more weeks to the inspection which we failed because there were three access points from our garage that were not sealed. Upon calling Sheldon's and expressing his frustration with the level of service we had received to that point, Todd agreed to finish sealing the very next day. According to him, no one on his staff told him about all the issues we'd encountered between August 20 and December 17. Tl;dr: Check their work before signing off on it. And if you're not happy, call Todd directly so he's aware. read more

We found Sheldons at the LA County Fair. We were planning on replacing our broken furnace with a new heat pump. Sheldons was amoung four contractors we had chosen from the fair and two local Long Beach contractors. After all presentations and due diligence on researching companies we chose Sheldons. Art Hernandez, came out to our house and explained the options available to us. He took his time and discussed the pro and cons of the different systems for us. After his visit he produced a proposal which we found would meet our needs and be in our budget. Before starting the project we did work with the office staff of Regina and Cheyanne. Both ladies were always pleasant and very helpful. Regina was especially helpful in getting all of our government rebate paperwork ready. Pre-installation foreman Dean came out and basically scoped out the project. He measured, showed placements and explained where things would go, their operation and answered all questions we had. Installation day. Lead Technician Tim arrived with assistant technician Mario. Tim explained to us what would be accomplished that day and how these units would be fit into our house. Both gentlmen worked hard all day and always had the time to answer questions, which I had many of. Day two came and Lead Technichian Tim arrived with a new partner David. One of the important things to us was that as with any major project, things don't always go as planned and adjustments have to be made. Tim would take the time to explain the problem, the different solutions and give his opinion on what he felt was the best fix. This allowed us input on the change in the original plans and we always knew the progress of the project. Overall the installation was accomplished as promised with no major issues. All three technicians were friendly, knowledgeable and very respectful of our property. They layed runners on the floor, wore covers on their shoes when they came inside. After all was finished they cleaned up both the exterior and interior of the house from all construction debris. We now have heat again and cooling for the summer in our over 100 year old house. This was a major purchase for us and we could not feel better on our decision to use Sheldons. We had Sheldon's come to inspect the air unit and the ducting in our attic, after reviewing photos and talking with the Technician it was obvious it was time for replacement. After scheduling an appointment, the Sheldon's team came out prior to confirm materials needed, so they were prepared for the installation. The team went into the attic and removed all the old materials and I was appreciative at the care they took and the clean way they performed their job. They had placed down floor coverings, and took the time to make sure that everything that could be was bagged before bringing it down from the attic to prevent dust and dirt being spread into the house. During the installation they made sure that the new ducting was properly secured up off the attic floor and that everything was properly sealed and attached correctly to all fittings. Once the work was done the technician had re leveled my overflow pan to make sure if we ever had a problem that it would drain properly, he had also gone through my unit to make sure it was clean and in proper working order to demonstrate how the unit was now running. We have noticed an immediate improvement in the air flow, how quickly the house cools and have even noticed a huge reduction if dust in our home. The office staff followed up during the time the technicians were here to ensure things were going ok and if I had any questions about anything they were doing and keeping me up to date about the time line of completion, the Service manager showed up to make sure the team had all they needed and to see if there was anything that was missed or needed to complete the job properly and on time. If you are looking for a company to take care of needs in a professional manner, this would definitely be who I would recommend. read more

We've honestly been rolling the dice for years without any A/C maintenance...13 years to be exact! Recently, we noticed our neighbors using Sheldon's, and they couldn't say enough good things about the company and their service plan. That piqued my interest, so I called and spoke with Regina, who was super helpful and really took the time to explain their services and what to expect. My service appointment was yesterday. The technician was on time, professional, and incredibly thorough. He showed me exactly what was going on with my system, what parts were failing, and why. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first (let's be real, we've all heard the nightmare repair stories online), but he was transparent and patient in answering my questions. Given that we've seriously neglected maintenance and the unit is 13 years old, it made sense to replace the worn parts. What really impressed me was that the technician worked behind the scenes to keep the repair cost very reasonable; no sticker shock here, which was a relief. Plus, my wife is thrilled that our A/C is ready to tackle the brutal summer heat without a hiccup. We called Sheldon's Heating and Air to look at the AC unit on one of my rentals in Moreno Valley. They sent a technician who is also the OWNER, told me the unit needed servicing, cleaning and TWO capacitors. I asked him why 2 when the fan is running. He said, "oh it's intermittent". And said BOTH needed changing at $89 each plus a service call. I approved it and asked my tenant to get the old parts. Almost $300 total and the photo she sent me was for a single start capacitor. Being in the business I am in I purchase these all the time for under $10. I called the company to see why I was charged for TWO. The girl on the phone had the technican who was out there call me and he had an attitude and tried telling me now, it's not two separate capacitor's it's a DUAL capacitor. With 2 charges on the bill for $89 each plus a service call. I told them I was stopping payment if I didn't get credit. They finally credited ma almost 10 days later for one of the two capacitors. Today, less than 3 months later the AC unit is doing the same thing. The technician now is saying the compressor is going out and they don't want to work with me because I was so difficult last time. The positive reviews on yelp for Sheldon's is accurate. I had an issue with my air conditioner and called out Sheldon's to take a look at it. They came out the next day after an evening call. The technician was very personable and great to deal with. My problem turned out to be my Nest thermostat and not a/c unit. The tech did the unit checks and didn't find anything. He waited as we ran the unit until it short cycled. At that point he told me it was the thermostat. He didn't try to upsell me or sell me services that I didn't need. He was honest and the service was worth what I paid. On the Nest thermostat. Because I don't used the air very much, the nest gets its power from the unit when it runs. If you don't run it much, it doesn't get charged up. Long story short, I researched it on the internet and found that to charge the Nest when the unit is off that an extra wire needs to be hooked up from the unit to the indoor air handler I ended up hooking up a common wire, (that was a spare in the wire bundle) from the inside air handle to the thermostat and that fixed the short cycling issue. We have used Sheldon's Heating and Air Conditioning on two separate occasions now, the first time was when we were installing our back patio and cover. They came out and moved the unit that we had installed by another major company in the area. When they moved the unit we found out that the original company had under charged the system, which would have caused it to work harder. We had them correct all the problems that they found. Recently we had them out for a Spring time tune up, the technician Miguel came out to check the system and found that the fan motor was starting to sling out the grease thru the front seal. Miguel called the company that made the motor and found out the unit was still under warranty. We had him order the motor, and today 2/15/2016 he brought the new motor, installed it and was done within an hour. He cleaned up the area he worked in leaving it clean and neat. Miguel is an extremely clean cut and knowledgeable young man. I would highly recommend him and his company to anyone that needs minor or major work. Early August of this year our A/C unit went out. We received competitive quotes from 3 different companies before calling Sheldon's. We called them because we had over 30 years of great service from our old Carrier unit and decided to stay with Carrier. Their sales rep. Zach explained the 10 year warranty on parts and labor.. He was knowledgeable and thorough in explaining everything as well as being personable. His quote included a Senior and Veteran's discount. He also explained the rebates we would be eligible for through our city utilities dept. We were placed on priority service because we had no A/C and it was the hottest of days in August. After waiting only 2 days, installers Omar and Omar (yes two different Omar's) arrived and spent the next 2 days installing our new A/C ,Furnace and duct work. They were courteous intent on their job, vacuumed and cleaned up after themselves each day. Bryan their mgr. came out each day to make sure everything was going smoothly. I could not of had a better experience getting my air conditioner tuned up. This was my first time having anyone come to my house for my air conditioner. Edward was incredible throughout the entire encounter. Edward taught me everything I need to know about how to take care of my air conditioner and how to avoid problems in the future. Edward took the extra time to clean everything out of my unit and filter. Edward was concise and meticulous with my entire AC unit. He was kind enough to wear shoe covers when entering the house to not track dirt or mud. Edward provided me with a great first experience with this company and I was astonished when Edward told me he had only been working with Sheldon Heating and Air Conditioning for 2 weeks. Edwards professionalism and knowledge of the air condition unit was far beyond a new hire and I would tell Sheldon's Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. to hold on to him because he is a great technician. As you read this keep in mind that I've owned a few business encluding a coffee franchise in OC so I know what I'm talking about. If a business was judge on the caliber of its employees Sheldon would be in the upper level along with the Ritz Carelton and Beverly Wilshire. Since they nstalled a new AC and heating unit we have had nothing but great service. Its only been 6 months since the installation on a Carrier AC so I cannot yet testify to the equipment. I can only say it works great and have had zero problems. However if the equipment is as good as their employees I've got an excellent unit worth every dollar. From their installers whom were very accommodating to their service tech Miguel whom was very professional, informative and spent extra time helping us connect our Wifi to our thermostat and even to the people that quickly and cheerfully answer the phones, the whole experience was a good one. read more

I recently used Sheldon's Heating and Air Conditioning to replace my old heater and A/C unit. Not only did they prove that they were the best people for the job, they gave me a great deal. I had already had 3 other companies come to access my heater and A/C unit over the years time, but this was the only company that actually looked thoroghly at my unit and let me know I had a heat pump, not a hydronic system like I thought I had. Plus the quote was almost $3000 less then the other quote I had been given prior. All the technicians I have met with Sheldon's have been funny, very personable, knowledgeable and speak very highly of their employer. I've never really heard employees talk positively about their job and how well Sheldon's treats their employees. Maybe thats why so many of them have been there for around 20 years. my ac unit stop working over the weekend the technician Joser came out very professional he laid down a Sheldon's rug at the front door and was wearing shoe covers I liked that a lot he gave me a run down of what he was going to due first and asked me a couple of questions he made me feel that Sheldon's cares for their customer after a while the technician let me know what the issue was and gave a solution along with a price that I agreed and he moved forward with the repairs when he was done he cleaned after himself and vacuumed around he's work area he included me when he turned my ac back on and gave me a very detailed summary of his work performed today great technician and company I will definitely keep them in my circle highly recommended the Sheldon's great customer service and detailed employe's thanks again and thank you for sending Joser he was great read more

Sheldon's Reply to my 1 star Negative review ( Check screenshots attached ) Customers. Please read Sheldon's response. I highlighted the critical reply section. I have never said that Sheldon's was trying to sell me a new compressor. Sheldon's attempted to replace a compressor that's STILL WORKING to make me pay the replacement service fee of $2,123. They came to do a "diagnostic" on 7/20/2023. But my gut told me that this diagnosis was incorrect. On 7/24/2023, The Technician, Jonathan Angulo, at Redlands Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning (THE HONEST COMPANY), I gladly recommend them. I found out that the real problem was the DUAL CAPACITOR. They fixed the problem on 7/24/2023. Check the invoice attached. Sheldon's Technician disconnected THE COMPRESSOR to charge me for service replacement. An UNETHICAL MAL PRACTICE to attempt to steal my money. read more

We had sheldons come out 4 years ago when our ac wasn't working. We had to replace the whole unit just because it was 20 years old. Since they we have had no problems but minor issues. Every time we call them to come out they are always so nice and take their time to explain everything to us. Today we had to have them come out because our outside unit was not turning on. Andy was the tech that came out and he found out the cap was bad. It was under warranty and he even suggested we add a kick start to the unit to help it. He explained everything and even checked the attic and found another problem. He explained what was wrong and when we told him he needed options on how to fix it he said he would look into it and call us. He was not pushy when we said we needed options and did not just want to jump right in to fix it. Thank you!!! read more

If you want a clean, honest, show up on time Company for AC issues - don't waste time - contact these guys! I had two old R22 units that needed to be replaced, I received 3 bids and from established businesses in the Riverside / Temecula area. Tod showed right on time - provided the best bid on the same exact units, was very professional and went over in detail all involved. This was on a Friday AM - I signed the contract with Sheldons - the units were installed the following Monday by Neil and Chis. They also showed up on time, very polite - wore booties in the house, etc... they completed the install and ensured everything was working properly - even installed the new air vents I purchased at Lowes. Anyway - can't be any happier with the service and results - keeping cool now - ready for the brutal Summer heat. Thanks guys! read more

What can I say about Sheldon's Heating and Air ..... To begin they are a VERY HONEST Company!!! My mom has had problems over these years with her A/C Unit not cooling off in these hot summer months, she has had people lie to her and rip her off with high prices; We had Sheldon's come out for the first time this past Saturday and they were beyond PROFESSIONAL THEY WERE SO TRUTHFUL AND HONEST that my mom has finally felt comfortable in giving her trust & business to a company who knows what they are doing!!! I have been working with Sheldon's Heating and Air Conditioning for about 5 years now. I bought an older home with an 25 year old system. Contracted with Sheldon's to do semi-annual maintenance to try to eek out as many years as possible on the system - was able to get 5 more years with some minor repairs. But, all good things come to an end. Finally got to the point of needing to replace the entire system. Contracted with Sheldon's to replace the AC unit, Furnace, ducting, asbestos abatement, and new insulation. All was finished within two days. They also gave me a rebate for repairs on the old system as promised when contracted. All in all, I've had a great experience with Sheldon's. I highly recommend them for your HVAC needs. read more

Our A/C went out during the worst heat wave this year, on a Sunday. I googled for emergency services and called the 877 number for a big corporate service because they were the first to come up. All they did was take my info and pass it on to someone who was supposed to call me back. My husband found a newspaper ad for Sheldon's and they had a local number. John answered right away and was here in an hour. He was professional and friendly and obviously knows his stuff. He was able to repair our A/C very quickly and gave us advice on how to keep it properly maintained. The price was very reasonable for emergency service. Sheldon's has a customer for life! Oh, and I never got a call back from the corporate 800 number. read more

When we started having issues with our brand new (as in just a little over a year old) system and…read morethe HVAC company who installed it was just not willing (or more like not capable) to go over and beyond to diagnose the real issue (there's a whole back story to this!) and decided to drop us like a hot potato, I knew we needed a new HVAC person. Went to Yelp and blasted out our needs. HVAC and Chill was the very first to respond. I was on the phone with Crystal who was very nice snd accommodating and assured me that they were an honest, family-owned business. She scheduled for someone to come the next day between 9AM and 11AM. The next day, I get a call from Chris around 8AM saying he was on his way and that he will be arriving in about 20 mins. True enough, he was at our front door at his promised arrival time and immediately went to work to diagnose the issue of our system (something our previous HVAC people didnt even do. They only suggested to replace the thermostat--- which was brand spanking new, btw). While performing the diagnostic, he found that our previous HVAC people didn't even wire our thermostat correctly (not the main issue but still!). He also concluded that the wiring of our system was just too old and was causing the short on the Y1 wire (hence our A/C just shutting off intermittently). He couldn't believe that our previous HVAC guys installed a brand new system and didnt take advantage of that fact that our walls were all wide open during the renovation. They should have replaced all the old wiring! He also offered to give a piece of his mind to our old HVAC peeps for not properly wiring the connections to our thermostat. I mean, you would think that wiring to the thermostat would be something BASIC! After diagnosing the issue, he said another tech named Mike would be coming in the afternoon to do the fix needed. He left and texted me updates as to when Mike would be arriving. Half an hour prior to arriving, Mike texts me his ETA. Again, arrived on time, with a big smile on his face, very courteous and went immediately to work. He asked me our preference on certain things and explained what he was working on. He even have tips to my husband to better take care of our unit. After replacing all the old wiring and installing the thermostat in a new area (no walls needed to be opened like what our previous HVAC guys suggested!), he stayed and tested everything thoroughly and made sure everything was working fine before he left. And the price quoted for the job? VERY FAIR AND REASONABLE! Oh my goodness, this experience made me believe that there ARE competent AND honest workers out there. What Chris and Mike don't know is how they made our lives much easier as we have a severely autistic 15 year old who doesn't understand that the A/C is not working and would just get quite aggressive when he's uncomfortable. Now we don't have to worry about him. If you need an HVAC person for whatever project or problems you have, look no further and give these guys a call. There is a legit reason why they have a perfect rating of 5 stars here on Yelp. THANK YOU Chris, Mike, Crystal and the entire HVAC and Chill Team!!!

Very personable and asked about me and my family. Those traits are rare in today's environment. He went through my whole system thoroughly and provided short and long term recommendations. I will be asking for him again next year when it is time to service my equipment. I just want to add that I have used this company since they were Avis in Colton. About 20 years and they have installed both of my units. They come on time, in a clean uniform and leave your place spotless. They are not the cheapest but are the best. You get what you pay for.
