I'd never think to write a review of a gas station/car wash, but after reading some of these reviews I see that many have had the same experience. The people working here are RUDE. I come here every weekend to wash my car (not anymore!). I wait in the wash line, after the car in front enters I pay for my wash and wait. Today an older female attendant came out yelling at me "why would you pay for your wash before you go into the wash?" I was like, "what?". I was so confused (and I have to interject that she was very aggressive ). She then yelled, "do you SPEAK ENGLISH?" Really? In this climate you're going to say that? ESPECIALLY when the person yelling this has a thick Hispanic accent? I felt bad for the guy in front of me whose wash wasn't functioning and she yelled at him to go to the back of the line again. Today, the older lady who serves as the car wash attendant banned me from the wash because it malfunctioned while I was inside, which she claimed was due to me "going back and forth." When I told her I've been thru the wash countless times and have sometimes had to back up -- as the signals inside will tell you to do -- she claimed it was on me and I cost them money by making her have to pay for the wash of the person behind me (not sure why, except that person probably was a lot meaner than me and insisted on it). I politely let her know that she was costing them money in the hundreds per month since no one in my family will continue to buy gas there given her need to make an example out of me; she was belligerent and clearly getting off on punishing me as she said she was fine with that. None of this matters to them, given the number of reviews noting what a terrible place this is that are already on here. I will go about enjoying my life while pitying the car wash attendant who has apparently never known love in her life, and who seems determined to ride out her remaining years being as miserable as human as possible. I have been coming here for many years and today I had the worse customer service experience. Went to the drive thru car wash - car in front of me took a very long time driving forward and back and obviously caused error when it was my turn. Knocked on the little kiosk by the car wash, no answer. I have seen someone there in my many years of coming to this location. I went to the gas station store and was turned away by the terrible rude lady on shift. I told her my situation - asked if there's someone managing the car wash, she rudely repeated "it's self service". I showed her my receipt but she had no interest in helping me and advised that I "drive away". I asked again - is someone working in the kiosk, she again said "it's self service". This is the worst experience at a car wash that in all my years I've ever had. I went strictly to use the car wash. I have a brand new car and I went through and I got to the part where they hit your car with all the soap. It malfunctioned which they blamed on me and said I moved. I drove through, went inside where I was rudely met by two of the worst employees on the planet. She said there was nothing she could do. I said give me my money back and she refused. I told her I'm not leaving till she does. I told her she cannot leave all that soap on my new car. Her response, "Not my problem ". She finally refunded me and I told her now run it through again. Went to wash my car, for some reason the machine didn't work. I talked to the clerk who couldn't do anything to help. I had him make a note on the receipt that I didn't get the car washed and was told to talk w/ mgr next day. When I came back no mgr there and was told told come back later. I got the run around came back 4 times. Finally the clerk called mgr who said it has been 10 days "why you wait so long?" I was told I could not speak to mgr and to call corporate!! And I could google the number!! Luckily when I was leaving the corporate mgr was there for an inspection. She was awesome and told the clerk to refund my money, and why "did she have to come 4 times!!" The clerk was so rude, no customer service experience. Poor communication skills and very hard to understand. Also why is the rest room not available to paying customers? And why do they charge for air?? That's illegal. As others have said, skip the car wash here. Noticed that the car wash didn't have suds, like the previous times I've gone, so I let the attendant know and she told me no refunds. I'd settle for it being fixed and getting another wash, where my car is clean, and she told me that I can pay for another one. Used their car wash then drove over to one of the gas pumps to fill up. Like any normal human being I checked my phone for about a minute waiting for the spot free clean to dry up when woman with short grey hair knocks on my window to tell me to either "use the pump or get the F out". I guess I will not be gassing up here today, or ever again. ***This review is regarding the Shell Automated Car Wash*** I've been coming to this particular car wash for at least the last 10-years. It was never the best in the area, but it was convenient and the price was okay for convenience. It hit most of the spots on my vehicles, and I could live with the results. However, it's been awhile since I'd come to this one. There are good automated car washes I prefer and will stop at if nearby, notably the Spot Free Wash at the Chevron off of Sherman Way & Whitsett, off the 170. And there's also Victory Wash off of Victory just east of Lankershim. Both are good, affordable, and thorough. I just paid $5.99 for a basic wash on my other car at Victory Wash the other day, with an attendant there to presoak my vehicle before going through. This wash, which is not a coast through style wash, is higher priced at $9.99 for a basic wash and no attendant. The wash itself is a park and wait style where it washes around your parked car with your foot on the brake. It used to be slow, but at least it was slow because it'd make multiple passes at scrubbing your vehicle. One would notice how slow it is due to the queue of cars wait for their turn. Now it does one pass of scrubbing and doesn't hit nearly anything. Half of my car is still dirty! But the queue of cars are in fact getting through quicker. The price for the basic wash went up drastically. I recall it being $5.99, then $6.99, then $7.99. Now it's $9.99 with three quality tiers going up to $14.99. I could tell the higher tiered washes were also quick and ineffective. You can see the wash add-on's being used on the cars in front of you as you wait your turn, and their washes were also too fast as the machine gave them one pass of the mechanical scrubber. Basically, I strongly believe this wash is now a total scam, which I don't say that is word lightly. My car is still half dirty, the price is too high, and it's clearly been reprogrammed to not put much time into the wash process. Plus, you're not even paying for a wash attendant's labor that assists with the process! So you pay more, and get way less. As nearby washes offer better quality for less money, this Shell Wash is no longer something I'd consider a viable option. It's a complete rip-off to the consumer and I strongly recommend avoiding it if you can. read more

When I demanded another receipt and it was confirmed I was told I needed to apologize or she would call the police. I called the police and got the refund. DO NOT USE THEIR AIR PRESSURE MACHINE! The nozzle is broken and will let air out of your tires, not in. Wasted $7.50 trying to get it to work and they will not refund you. The older man who works here at night (the one pictured in another person's review) is unbelievably rude and not personable at all. The machine wasn't reading credit cards properly so I had to go inside to pay. He acted like this was the biggest inconvenience he had ever seen, grumbling the whole time he had to ring me up and then making a big AUDIBLE SIGH when I asked if I could please use my rewards points as well. Dude was so put out for just having to do his job. I was a tad fed up lately with gas stations that are dirty and the service is lacking. On my way back from the mall, I stopped at this Shell station at the intersection of Magnolia with Victory. It is cleaner than other locations and the screens work well. Not too many pumps and you have limitations because of that, but overall was a better experience than I had lately at other gas stations in the area. Price is in the middle, not the cheapest, not the highest. Luckily there weren't too many people getting gas because that would make it harder to exit on the street you need to be at. They also have a car wash here. read more

The car wash is good and standard however, is it me or has anyone noticed that they don't clean the car wash pay screen?? We have endured a pandemic yet I still see the same mineral deposits in the corners of the screen and there's a layer of it so thick you can barely read the screen buttons in the daylight....But at night the light shines through. Somebody do Something! Lol I pump gas here regularly no problems with that. No problems redeeming Ralph's rewards points for gas, but if I want to wash my car in the daytime and see the actual buttons I am pressing, I pump gas and add on a car wash at the pump instead of in the car wash line! Ok, so i went to this location 5/15/24 to get a car wash the machine ripped off my back spare tire cover. I went back a couple hours later. Associate in charge at time couldn't understand what i was saying. Problem #1 i got managers info called back next day. Anna the supervisor spoke to me like i was trash. I still cannot stand this car wash. When it's working well, it does an okay job. It definitely leaves behind a lot of stuff you'd easily get washing it yourself, but whatever, it's convenient and I don't mind paying for that. The real problem occurs when the dryer doesn't work. The employees get an attitude and claim that it works just fine, insinuating that I did something wrong. They know that dryer randomly goes out and has done so many times. There should be solutions in place when that happens, but there isn't. Unfortunately, they employees will continue to get the backlash for this company's faults, although they don't deserve it. Anyways, tonight I asked for a refund or if I could go back through the wash to dry my car. The lady TRIED handing me a yellow towel. AVOID THE CARWASH! Especially the 11.99 "Best" wash. It seems that I'm not the only one whose been scammed out of money recently. I've been going to this gas station for YEARS and getting my car washed here. For the past 8 years I've only driven SUV's (MDX and X5) and never had an issue, not once. Every time I've gone thru successfully without issue. Except today. I now drive an Acura RDX (a crossover) and we noticed a sign that said no trucks, mini vans, SUV's and a bunch of other vehicles (which hello, this is LA you are taking away a load of business but whatever) and I said, well at least we're safe since we're technically a crossover. We pay for the best wash, go through and since no one was behind us we decided to really take our time with the dryer. But after 10 seconds the dryer turned off. So I park my car to go in and ask if the machine is broken. The woman behind the counter rudely tells me, I can't have a refund, which I wasn't even asking for, I was more going in to find out of they knew the machine was broken and what had happened. She then proceeded to tell me how it was my fault because I had an SUV. I told her I had never had a problem before and successfully washed three of my last cars here with no problem. I also informed her, technically my car isn't an SUV it's a crossover. She still continued to fight with me that it was my fault and I should know better. She said if my car was a normal car, shed give me a refund, but since it's an SUV, she won't help me. I'm not sure if this only happens when you buy "the best" car wash or if it's happening with everyone, but when I drove up the car leaving was dry so I'm not sure why my car is now unevenly dried. It's a shame because I really liked this car wash, but I guess I won't be returning. Horrible costumer service and rude team members who act like they know more about my car than I do. read more

This gas station provides a self-service drive-through car wash. The problem is the blow dryer has been broken for at least the last five months. They refuse to fix it, and they're still charging full price. Washing your car there makes it come out worse than it was when it went in. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

For my $11 car wash -- which didn't seem to be much different than the other grades of washes, there is no dryer....I still left with wet spots all over my car! I came here since I was low on gas and while I was pumping it gave me the option to purchase a wash and since my car had black on top of black I figured why not! Well I wasn't sure if it was added on to my receipt so I went in. I asked the clerk that I wasn't sure if the wash was added to my bill, he nicely explained to me my bill and showed me it wasn't since I didn't have a wash code on the receipt. I paid for my wash and left.. Nice service there! Okay wash.. I will 100% admit this is NOT the best wash ever, it's basically to lay your car over till you can give your car the " supreme" wash with detail and so on and pay that $ 20 + tip wash However it does do a nice once over, it does air dry the water off my car and I honestly rather pay $7.00 for a 3 minute wash & dry then 30 minutes to wash it myself. read more

I live close by so come here for gas and car wash every so often. The dryer was not working properly today so my car was all wet after the car wash and left water marks all over. I spoke with the manager but she was rude and refused to provide refund stating their no refund policy which should not apply to the situation where the machine is not working the way it is supposed to. Like this gas station because there is a drive through car wash - $8 the economic wash, $9 the medium one and $10 the premium. It literally takes 4 to 5 minutes so even if you have a couple of car in front of you, have faith: you'll be out of there in no time. 4 stars because it gets really really busy all the time between people that want a car wash and those that are just filling the tank and the lines go out of control... there are no indication of where to enter for the car wash for instance so it gets pretty hectic... still I come here often for its convenience! read more
