Aside from the $24.95 Ultra-Wash, where they run your car through the wash, then a worker or two will clean the entire interior for you, the other washes, "Wash 1 (6.95), Wash 2 (7.95), and Wash 3 (8.95) are sub-par. Add another dollar on those prices if you don't get 8 gallons of gas before hand. They'll do light spraying before you enter the wash, then you go through the automated wash, which takes about 2 minutes or so and then you're done. Car comes out a little better than when you went in. If your car's really in need of a wash, it'd be better to either take it up one more block and do it yourself or go to one of the places on Divisadero or Van Ness where 30 workers go to town on your ride at once. If you just need a quick rinse before picking up your date, then this place will do. read more

Yesterday I went to Shell for a fill-up and car wash. My hand was aching as the fill-up took forever. I was amazed as my car only takes 30 gallons and the gas was still running up to 39 gallons. When I sstarted my car, the fuel gage registered only half full. I do not have any leaks in my new car, so the only conclusion is that Shell is running a "shell game". Came here after a bad experiance at loop carwash at 19th ave. This place is PACKED! And I can see why. Great carwash for its price. Car came out very clean thanks to the 2 employees prepping my car before entering the tunnel. This method is way better than those automated ones. (Note. Tip them and they do even a better job) Staff and manager are excellent. Had a tree sap spot on the roof and carwash staff tried their best to get it off, but no luck. Asked the manager for a tip to remove it, and he simply just took care of it for me! This will be my permanent spot to get a carwash. read more

The "Ultra Carwash" here is $24.95 and includes a thorough interior cleaning in addition to the wash. The guys here do an excellent job. They even took a stain out of the front passenger seat. It takes about 20-25 minutes after the wash, but there's a coffee place right right down the block on Cook and the same side of Geary. read more

Also, it actually did a horrendous job of the actual wash lol. Trust me, I have low expectations to begin with but seeing as how your car is put on a motorized conveyeur belt, it literally went through "drying mode" for 5 seconds. Our car was still so wet that we ended up pulling back into the lot to manually dry the car windows off with paper towels. I used to be a regular customer here, but I won't be going back anytime soon. The prices have increased by two dollars per wash, the wait time has gotten unbearable whereas before you could find time during the week when it wasn't too crowded. When I finally got through the car wash on Saturday, they had rushed the job - hadn't washed side mirrors nor the base of the windshields. Definitely not worth the time or money. read more

I loves this place!! I bought a packet of car washes (6 super washes for 50 dollars) and have been pleased every time I get my car washed. More specifically though, I drove up to Tahoe this past weekend and my car was super filthy and although in the forecast it was going to rain the following day, I needed my car to be washed. So on Saturday, when I went to the station there was only one guy working. He did an amazing job. He pre-washed my car so well it looked like I got it detailed (not even exaggerating). But, for the most part, (as Lisa R. said) living in San Francisco=your car being dirty all the time. So I will gladly pay less than 10 dollars for my car to be so fresh and so clean clean. P.S. Location is convenient and car looks cleaner than before. However, I suggest you avoid the upcharge for the "wheel" package. I bought the most expensive package at $16 (cheapest was $12) and this is how the wheels looked after the wash. When I complained to the car wash attendant he dismissed me with a shrug of his shoulders. The cashier told me, "They just spray on a chemical. It's not like they scrub the wheels." Good to know. I live in San Francisco + I park on the street + I park under trees + I don't want to spend a lot of money getting my car washed. On Sunday I walked out to my car and it was embarassingly filthy on the outside. So filthy that I looked up "cheap car wash" on Yelp in my car and immediately drove to Shell. It's a drive-through, but the pre-wash and pre-scrub down was a nice touch. So, for less than $12 and 30 minutes roundtrip, bird poo gone, windows no longer have a black-brown tint to them, and car is back to its pretty shiny red self. Happy, and will return. read more

Not too sure about this one....Shell Car Wash is easy and convenient for me, but the wash is never quite the spic 'n span I would hope for...I usually get the #3 wash (most expensive) but I don't see a difference when I've asked for the #1 or #2. So the gas itself seems a little more pricey here, but they offer a cheapie quick fix lazy car wash. The $8.95 gives you a 30 second live attendant(s) pre-wash and soak. You then finish in the 2 minute car wash with the air blower tease at the end. So the reason it's a 3 is b/c as I was manually vacuuming ($1.50 for about 5 to 7 minutes) the attendant noticed that the wash I just went through missed some spots. So I actually got a second freebie wash where he manually scrubbed out some of the bird soup on my hood. I thought that was real professional. However, that tells you that the car wash itself probably isn't that spectacular. Again, this was Monday 2PM when it was pretty ghost town. I wouldn't expect this during high traffic days. My car was pretty dirty. I think if it was a rinse off type purpose, it would be OK. But at $9 shells, a garden home rinse might be worth it. I probably won't be coming back since a good hand wash can be as cheap as $20 at some other places.... It took two cycles, you know what I mean? But the Asian dude that works there is cool. This is for the car wash. I went there this evening and got the #3 (the full service package). Since it's the COVID apocalypse I felt it was best to bring in cash I had sitting around for sometime vs credit card handling between myself and cashier. No. The cash was acquired pre-COVID apocalypse and wasn't touched since. I only had a twenty and decided I was not going to accept change. I drove over and handed the twenty and told him no change. He thanked me and looked very happy! Then him and the other guy went to town! I've never seen such dedication to clean my car before! There was no other car behind me so that may have made it better for them to be thorough. They thanked me when done as my car and I went through the tunnel of wax and roll. I didn't know they accepted tips. Next time I'll bring another twenty. It's a much better deal than most local hand wash places. It wasn't much left to them, $2 a piece but I guess it adds up at the end of the day. The best part was their enthusiasm and dedication to quality work! read more

Worst wash ever. Truck was dirtier after this poor excuse of a wash. I paid 11.xx. They spraid my car with no scrubbing. Went through a large bunch of dirty dangling rags. This set up always scratched your car and is a sponge full of everyones dirt. Car got sprayed again and the only good thing about this wash it the blow dryers. It literally took 1 minute, its so small. Took it home and got out to see black streaks all over my truck. Its yellow and you can see tar/oil like stains all over. Got out some cleaner and went over the entire truck. Big Fail. Rims were dirty too. I will never come here again. I recommend touch less on Divisadero where you car is pampered and looks fantastic when you get it back. Cost nine bucks more but well worth it. read more

I figured it was because of the work being done or a temporary cash only. I came back and there were no signs saying cash only but the guy at the car wash insisted I pay in cash so I told him I need to back out then and that's when he took my card and let me pay with it... 1. Opted for the priciest package (12.95) which is supposed to include Rain-X, poly sealant and tire cleaning. We got nothing beyond a hose down and soap up. There was still brake dust all over the rims and clods of dirt on the roof of the car. 2. The vacuum, which costs 1.50 per use, is supposed to go on for "5+ minutes" but we got about 3. 3. The air hose ($1 per use) has a faulty (super old fashioned) gauge and I ended up having to take my car opposite to a tire shop to get the tires filled up properly. Overall a very unsatisfactory experience. Serves me right for trying to be cheap. From now on, I'll be happy to pay 2-3 times more to take my car for a proper wash and detailing. read more

Since my bad review I have had the opportunity to speak with Corey after he reached out to me last week. I now understand more & apologize to everyone. A worker was injured recently while cleaning a wheel because they didn't follow protocol. So they were instructed not to provide the service where if a little cash was provided extra, they would bend down & rub them cleaner with a rag. But a notice wasn't posted to the customers of the change. That is being corrected as I type this. I gave the guy $8.95, while one of the guys waved me into the auto-wash. Supposedly they give you a 30 second pre-wash, but it had to be only 1 side as the other side I had my window open. The auto-wash was very quick, it hardly seems it could have been long enough to really work. Only compliant is that both the gas and car wash is a bit pricey; but this is probably the nearest, if not the only car wash around the area. When this place it super busy they don't do as good a job. So don't expect to get your rims to be done very well at all. The car wash isn't bad for a 'hand wash/automated' car wash. It's convenient bc it's not too far from where I live or the city but the price is a little steep for how much you pay. I paid 14 bucks and the wash was shorter than normal drive thru car washes unfortunately. I paid 14 dollars for literally 2.5 mins which was really sad. Waste of money. Don't do it. I'm writing a review on the "wash" service I just received. I'm a big believer in anything that costs more than $10 for less than a minute of time is generally a bad deal, but I got suckered into this because it was close and I was short on time. You're simply paying $12 for a luxury wash that is anything but. The tire wax, bug repellent, and all that doesn't mean anything. This is a $5 service, if that, and if you're car is truly dirty like mine was then this won't help much at all. Don't support this business. Also, somehow the vacuum service is not included in the $12 price so you have to pump $3 more into the machine to get a decent vacuum job on your car (no attachments to the hose). My car left extremely clean and spot free. I read the reviews and went anyways - I was glad I did so. I think they must have installed a water filter or something because my car was as spot free as when I get it back from dealer service - and I know the dealer car wash does something to their water so it dries with no spots. The 2 pre-wash guys are as courteous as I'd expect from some dudes who are washing cars all day. I don't expect any special pandering for $9. One pointed at the instruction sign, which was easy to read and helpful. I hadn't recently been to a wash where you put your car in neutral and the system just pulls your car through on a belt, so it was a good reminder. The air dry system got rid of most of the water, and 2 minutes down the road the rest was gone - spot free. Maybe other reviewers went at a different time of the week when the water was dirty, I'm not sure. But during a mid-week day, I was spot free and happy to have a clean car very quickly for under 9 bucks, my 'lazy limit'. read more
