My second time at a Shell Shack. The first time was at the location on Abrams (now closed) and food and service were great. I will not be back to this location on Henderson. The food was delicious but the service inside and out was horrible. Went to park amd they had valet. I was rudely told I have to pay $6 to park in the giant empty parking lot. I parked on the street. The waitress looked and acted like she didn't want to be working. She had an attitude. My companion and I tried to be kind. She didn't give us her name or describe anything on the menu. Barely checked on us to see if we needed anything. We had to ask for drink refills. Although one nice man did come by and check on us, our main server was not attentive. Never get the unsweet tea, it tasted like it was a week old. My coconut shrimp platter was delicious and had very sizeable portions. The calamari was also very good. Because of parking and service I would not recommend this location. read more

After setting at another known location, not happy with service, I called Shell Shack & Ms. LaToya answered the phone with a smile, answered my questions, & my guest of 4 traveled to come get that same customer service over the phone in person! She was so welcoming over the phone & it didn't end there! I haven't been to this location in 2-years, but after our experience with Ms. LaToya & a new waitress Ms. Zay: whom she was training, has gained me as a returning customer. Now, the PLATTER!! LAWD..... The Heavyweight platter was no joke with an added 2lbs of crawfish & an additional fried shrimp plate. heck, the shuck oysters were on point! EVERYTHING WAS SOOO GOOD! Came in for a pre valentines dinner and the shell shack did not disappoint. We were quickly greeted by front desk staff. They ask our seating preference and took us to our table. We started beverages and an order of wings. Drinks came quickly and food was served hot. We decided on the snow crab boils. I had the kitchen sink and it was delicious!! My boo had the garlic lemon pepper on his and everything was sooo flavor-full!! Our waitress was.. Brittany I think and she was training another waitress named Jade. They were both very attentive. THE CRAB LEGS SERVED TO ME WERE ICE COLD! Shell Shack in Arlington has gone down hill! Their crab legs are not fresh. They bought me "ice cold" crab legs in a "Crab boil". They must have cooked them ahead, refrigerated them and then warmed them up upon request. They did remake my order.... likely just warmed them up. For $70, it needs to be right! The management team didn't seem to care about the quality of service they delivered... particularly Beth, the general manager. My server Ashton was awesome though. From the minute I walked in, The waitress ...Lavora better known as Lv made me feel special! Wished me a happy birthday .. and said my drink would be right out. Explained the menu in detail and surprised me with singing Happy birthday and of course assisted with the marriage proposal! She Recorded the whole thing! They have a young crowd and the happy hour menu is pretty good. The food was ok. Not to my standard but was doable. I ended up eating at another restaurant afterwards. The staff attire is tacky. I like sexy... but even hooters' dress code and choice of staff was more tolerable. I feel with the age of staff they hire looking barely legal... a little more clothing would be appropriate. I am a seafood lover from the east coast, and very aware of pricing and weight. I decided to take a friend to Shellshack instead of Red Claws because I absolutely love their fries. This was her first time visiting the restaurant even though she lives in the DFW area. She does not eat boiled seafood so she chose catfish fillets. OMG! SS, has lost their crab charging $26.99 for 2 catfish fillets and 8 shrimp. I could see if this were Pappadeux where the entire menu matches the ambiance but lordy each meal is charged a mkt price, even the combos. Aren't combos suppose to be the better deal? Not in this case, I'll answer for you. The waiter was great during lunch and very attentive. I know he couldn't do anything about pricing but this is price gouging even in the fall of the year when seafood is cheaper. Bayou Cat offers the same combo for less than $20, and they are just as good. The high prices are due to revitalization of the area: AT&T stadium, Six Flags, Ball Park, new living, etc. Come to central Arlington to get more food for your buck. read more

Food was bad and the service was worse. We sat down and (no social distancing by the way) Our waitress didn't arrive for at least 15 minutes. We finally ordered, and the food came fairly quickly. I love this place . The only reason not 5 stars is because of the pricing on some of their items. Sometimes their market prices are inflated wayyyyyy more that other seafood restaurants. But the food is always delicious and comes out fast! Great staff too. read more

I tried to give this shell shack location another chance, however the results were still the same. As you can see in my photo the shrimp was not cleaned well at all. The greasiness did improve. I ordered the calamari and that was so salty. Overall this will never be a place for me to go to anymore. I will just stick with the uptown location because they never let me down. read more

Big disclaimer: hubby rates the seafood and service a five star experience! I rate the non-seafood offerings a three but the service, from Lydia, a five. Date night, no reservation needed. Two separate bags arrived and Lydia skillfully emptied each bag onto its own tray. Donning a bib, he tucked n and didn't come up for air, except to gesture at the napkin caddy! My burger and fries came at the same time as my salad, so by the time I got to them, they were cold. I tried a french fry early on and it was cold too, so minus points there. Asked for the burger medium-rare and medium is as low as they go. Burger looked huge, but that changed when I dumped the lettuce and tomato. Oddly enough, the lettuce on the burger was that weird tickly stuff!! I asked for extra mayo and got just a plop so not sure if that was right or not. Ate here two Fridays ago after getting glowing reviews from friends who've gone to the other locations. When I called, I was told they were doing a soft opening as they still had kinks to work out I'm grateful they warned me, because it lessoned my expectations for great service. Having said that, our waiter was very friendly, if not a bit overwhelmed. I ordered two pound of crawfish, and a pound of snow crab, mom got crab and shrimp, and hubby got, crab, crawfish, shrimp, and sausage. We all got kitchen sink flavor with varying degrees of spiciness. While my meal was tasty, I had two chief complaints. I ordered potatoes and they were forgotten. After inquiring about them three times, someone finally bright them, but they were plain with no seasoning! Perhaps I am spoiled, but I want my potatoes seasoned too, and it wasn't the same trying to sop up the juices with my dry potato. Secondly, the temperature of the food was undesirable. Although it was hot, by the time I finished my crawfish, my crab legs were lukewarm. Of course I ate them, but I would have enjoyed them more had the entire bag been hotter when it came to the table. Hubby shared the same thoughts about the temperature of the food, my mom had no issue, however this was her first and probably last foray as it was too rich for her digestive system. All in all it was a decent experience and I'll be sure to go by again in the next few months once they are open more hours and are running more smootbly. read more

We stopped here on our way from Austin back to Oklahoma. We would've gone to Boiling Crab but didn't have time to wait in line. This place wasn't bad. We were seated right away, restaurant and patio are huge. They have a hand washing station where you just stick your hands in and it's like a whirlpool. The bathroom on the other hand had 4 stalls and only 1 had toilet paper. Since you have so many employees, I recommend utilizing their labor wisely.. Not only was the food good but the customer service even better! Employee name Cee was very informative helping me pick my flavors. Upon leaving noticed accidently left my lights on all day lol and ofcourse my car didn't start. I went back inside and Cee was kind enough to give me a jump! Greatly appreciated. Utterly disgusting and inedible. When we did try to eat it, everyone was toilet ridden. Everyone had the bubble guts. Nothing was flavored. AT ALL. Spent about 100 bucks here for absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, I will not return. And I'm wondering what the higher reviews are talking about. The potatoes had growth on them and was undercooked. I ordered food online but had to wait still. King crab Ut was some bs. The pasta tastes like nothing. Crawfish tails were flavorless. Shrimp was overcooked and not the flavor I asked for. Corn was nasty. Let's start off with saying if you're going to throw someone new on the floor you should train them to take orders first. It took us 45 minutes to get our order in. Secondly we asked for a hightop table, the waitress put two tables together and we sat at the table. The "manager" came by and accused us of moving the tables and said "We can't move the tables and block the walkway". We told him the waitress did it and he said okay and walked away. I called him back over to our table to have him apologize to us and he said "No" and walked away. For the restaurant to only have 6 items only the menu and the waitress to take so long to take our order is unacceptable. For the manager to act so nasty is unacceptable. I can't see myself coming back to this less than average restaurant. If I could give it less stars I would. Update: they never brought my sisters food out and the waitress didn't know what my sister ordered. My friends sausage came out cold and the so-called mild wings were extremely hot and spicy.
