9/2/18 6:30pm I ask the hostess for a table for 2 and a high chair for our sixteen month old. She tells me it will be 30 minutes. I can see past the hostess stand to 3 open tables, and no one in the waiting room... hmm... ok we will wait. 20 minutes pass... 5 families have left... still the only 3 in the waiting room. Wait staff comes up to the stand multiple times, standing around talking. They are not busy. Meanwhile I'm sweating in an 80+ degree waiting room, wrangling a toddler. He needs to be changed, and I start to take him to the bathroom. I walk into the dining room and count 6 empty tables. That's it. This service sucks. We leave. I'm not giving this place my money. It doesn't appear that they want it anyway. Take it from a local. If you want a seafood boil that blows this place out of the water. Drive down 360 to Boiling King Crab. read more

Ate here for the first time and oh my goodness! Definitely some amazing food. Our waitress Gen was fantastic and she made the experience that much better. We ordered 1 lb of the Dungeness Crab (kitchen sink flavor) and also The VIP which comes with 1 lb snow crab legs, 1 lb shrimp, 3 potatoes, 2 or 3 sausage (can't remember), 2 corn, fries, and hush puppies. It was SO MUCH FOOD. I really love that they give you gloves because it made everything so much easier. They also have really sturdy and tough crackers that crack straight through the crab. I didn't have to use nearly as much effort as I have at other seafood spots. I will definitely be returning in the future!!! read more

I ordered the peach mule, a lb of shrimp w/3 potatoes and the whole kitchen sink. The food and drinks arrived quickly. The shrimpwas slightly over cooked, a lil chewy. The peach mule was good - a little strong in the ginger side. We got here around noon and. We were the only table and four additional tables showed up before we left. The service was ok and the atmosphere was average. Good music. Nothing I will crave but a nice alternative to driving to Boiling Crab. read more

Ok today is my daughter's birthday and she wanted crablegs. I called in an order for 2 pounds. Drove all the way to the Arlington location to pick them up. Paid $60. Get home and there was only 2 clusters in the bag. Sent my son back and they would not fix the order or give me a refund!! What kind of rip off joint is this???????? Ordered this place for the first time ever on uber eats for my bar team the other day and it did not disappoint. Got a combination of crab, corn, sausage, shrimp and fries/hush puppies as well as a fried catfish entree. This was a ton of food and fed 4 people with left overs! The spicy sauce was great and the quality of the seafood was good. It was prepared and delivered quickly and for such a messy item the boil came neatly wrapped and easy to pour into a bowl for everyone. Will definitely order again. read more

Service was pretty sad, oysters on half shell were off (some cold, some warm, one bad one) let's just say I only ate 4 and other guests ate one each. We left other 6. If I could give this place negative stars I would!! Me and my family went here for the first time last night and IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! We went inside and were told that it was going to be a 25 minute wait for a table. Which we were fine with that besides there were literally 7 open clean tables and we asked the host if those tables were reserved or taken and he said "no" and he walked away ignored us! so then me and my husband went to the bar to get a drink while we wait and GOT IGNORED AGAIN ! We were sitting there waiting for the bartender to acknowledge us. Apparently, one of her co-workers just got done with her shift and came up to the bar and sat in a chair right next to us. And the bartender acknowledged her first and started talking to her and served her up some shots before me and my husband. We noticed a sign that said "happy hour all day Sunday" so finally this random guy walks up to us and asks "can I get y'all anything? And I'm like "yeah what's on happy hour ?" And he's like "I don't know today is my first day" then I was like "okay well can you find out please ?" And he's like yeah I'll be back and then he comes back and says that the bartender told him that "there's no happy hour" even though there's a sign on the wall in big letters that's says HAPPY HOUR ALL DAY SUNDAY. We get called for our table we go sit down and our server takes forever to get to us. We ordered a appetizer and never got it. Our main course came out before our appetizer. We asked our server where our appetizer was And she bluntly said "she forgot to put it in." I ordered the VIP shrimp and crab and she didn't give me any bucket or plates or anything to put my shells in. Not even a utensil to crack the crabs! She literally just gave us our food and disappeared!! My husband had to flag down a worker and we asked where our server was and they said "she got over whelmed and left" like I said this place wasn't even that busy and our server completely abandoned us and no one was attending to us at all! I asked to speak with a manager , because at this point I was really bothered. This 17 year old kid comes up to us and I'm like "your the manager ?" And she's like yeah how can I help you ? I told her everything that happen and She just sits there and listens to everything I said just shakes her head agreeing to what I say but doesn't verbally say anything. So that was useless!! To top it all off right before we left My kid needed to go to the bath room and the women's restroom was TRASHED! Completely no toilet paper in the stalls!! this place had two hosts working the front sitting there talking not really doing anything to help the business ! What a major disappointment!!!!! Short version: Food great, bar staff great, Women's restroom needs to be kept an eye on. Extended version: So we walk into the restaurant and add our name to the list and she (the hostess) says "it's 1 1/2 hour wait." And I give the whole restaurant a look over and lots of tables are empty. I'm hesitant on saying yes but I go ahead. So I'm like ok, sure put our name on the list. I'm thinking maybe they are just short staffed. Which is strange for a Saturday night. But oh well, I look toward the bar area and find seats at the bar and we sit there instead. That worked out perfect. No wait and we started in on the crawfish fun. So we order and while waiting on food, I go to the restroom and it's a mess in there, left side sink slow to drain. Water not sitting in the sink and not draining. Toilet paper all over the floor. Completely not being managed clearly for hours. I come back and start in on the food. We ask for plastic hand gloves and start in! Crawfish are ok I got the Cajun seasoning one and also added the potato and corn and sausage. Now let me tell ya the sausage is very good! Loved it. Potatoes also had a great flavor to it, I really liked that too. We made our own special dipping sauce to go with the crawfish. Here is the "special sauce" recipe. Ask the waitress for a small bowl and then ask for: mayo, mustard, ketchup and a little hot sauce. Mix it all together and you have the perfect dipping sauce for your crawfish. We also ordered the fried shrimp and fries which was very good also. I loved the seasoning on the fries. All in all the food is good. The bar staff is great! But they just need to clean up there act a little with front door staff getting wait times right, lots of people basically left after hearing it was 1 1/2 Hour wait which was not true cuz we got to the bar and by they time they called our names it was NOT 1 1/2 hours later. More like 20- 25 min. If they could get the info they give out from hosting staff straightened up and literally clean up the restrooms this fun place would get a extra star from me easy. Went to this location today and it was terrible! This was my first time ever going to a shell shack and I will never be back. The crab legs were small and not worth 25 dollars pound. The kitchen sink sauce was not good. My friend and I got the same flavor but hers tasted completely different from mine. The server was slow and never came back to the table after I told him I didn't like my food. Poor service and poor food. read more

This place has the least happy servers around arlington. The food is okay but the servers and their outfit does not make you come back. The appetite goes away when you see how short their uniform short pants are and how inappropriate and unpleasant looking they are. It would have been fine if they have bodies to show for. I'm not sure if they are trying to be hooters in uniform but without the bodies to go with. Our group was very displeased. I felt completely humiliated and disrespected along with the entire dinner party. We went to the Shell Shack tonight and was the worst idea ever... The food had great flavor but the service was the worst. We sat in the bar area and waited for a good 15 min before I finally walked to the bartender and asked if we had to order from her or someone else. She told me she'd wait on me in a minute. She never came and about 5 min later, what appeared to be the manager, came by and took our drink orders. We took advantage of him being there to order our food. We finally got our food and our beer glasses were empty. We asked for another and some lemons - they never showed and I had to walk to the bar to ask for it again. The bartender brought my lemons but never got more beer. By this time we were half way done and decided it wasn't worth the effort to get another round otherwise it would have come way after we were done eating. When finally got our check and closed out the bartender sent a guest sitting at the bar to bring me my credit card and slip to sign! What if that lady was shady and took a picture of my card? Luckily I had my on the whole thing because I was waiting to see if I had to walk up to the bar to get it... I love Shell Shack (I go to the one in Dallas ALL THE TIME). When I found out this location was opening up (10 minutes from my job) I was ecstatic. After multiple visits, the food at this location doesn't seem as fresh and the customer service sucks. Hostess will literally stare at you as if you don't exist or until someone else finally asks if you'd like a seat. And the waitors take forever to come around and check on you. The last time I visited, I was given crawfish that smelled and tasted spoiled. I think that was the last straw. read more

This post is strictly regarding the service of the restaurant. The food was good, but everything else was sub par. My girlfriend and I walked in the other night where we saw the usual "Wait to be seated by the hostess" sign, and after 10 minutes we figured there was not an actual hostess. We sat at the bar and after about 5 minutes were greeted and ordered two beers that arrived 10-15 minutes later. We watched other couples and people arrive that also waited at this sign for almost 10-15 minutes as well. We ate at this location on August 24, 2019 as part of a college alumni chapter meeting held in the restaurant's private room. The 2 assigned servers took our meal orders. The servers who took the meal orders returned with the food and had no system in knowing who ordered what. Some meals were left where no one was seating. When my wife and I received our meal, the server did not bring utensils. In fact, we had to ask for them. Then the server came back with a bucket of forks. I asked for a knife utensil so that I can cut my salad. I never received it. My wife never received her bib, gloves, and tool to use for her snow crab. I never received my order of hush puppies. The service was so poor, we asked for the manager. A manager named Clint came out to assist along with additional servers. We got tired of the poor service, and requested the bill and for them to box up my wife's food so that we can leave. The first receipt that we received was an error for food that we did not order. Therefore, we had them provide a corrected receipt. Other alums at the table where we were seated experienced similar issues with the food service. We all agreed that we will not be returning. I decided to give the shell shack another chance, because my nephew requested it. I'm happy to notate that they have made improvements. Our server Kati Love was absolutely amazing and professional. She was the only server during the lunch hour, but I never felt neglected. She was attentive to every single table and she was knowledgeable about the menu. She was amazing! So I've been here 2 other times where one of the time they charged my card for someone else's tab and I had my bank dispute the charge. This time I came here to just get some drinks with a college friend and ran into some girls who were sitting at the bar. I found out later they were strippers and they were trying to charge their drinks to my tab. That was a red flag and I tried to tell the bartender (Michael) about it but he seemed oblivious to it. Then when my friend and I were about to leave, the stripper girls wanted 2 more shots on "US" but they said "Bartender, 4 more shots". I'm thinking who is is going to pay for this. Throughout this time my friend who I invited here has been waiting on his TO-GO- bag to come so we can leave but it took way too long. But then after the girls left his bad MYSTERIOUSLY appeared and who was left to pay. Hahaha....I could take this as a loss for a "dumb dude" but I think the bartender and those girls are working the situation including the bar area so for any single dudes coming to this business watch out. It's bad enough that I had to fight with them about charging my card for a tab that didn't belong to me. And now to deal with this.......this lets me know this business is not really legit nor do they screen their employees because I travel 90% all over the US and this is blatant disrespect for the customer and business all together. This place is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I came late on a Thursday night and ordered a pound of crawfish and a pound of shrimp and oysters to eat. When the oysters came out, they were super fresh and we ate them so quickly!! Then, the crawfish and shrimp came out and we had picked the "kitchen sink" seasoning and medium spicy. Omggggg. The crawfish melted in your mouth and the shrimp didn't need any dipping sauces. I had premade some lime/salt/pepper mix to dip my food in but I didn't even touch it.
