Such a lovely cafe with delicious drinks, tasty food, and fantastic service! I hung out here with two friends on a Sunday around noon. We were able to sit in a cozy area near the front windows. You order at the counter, take a seat, then they bring out your drinks and food to you. I enjoyed the following: Persian tea, pistachio iced latte, guava croissant, mortadella sandwich on focaccia. My wife and I stopped in for a late afternoon decaf on a Saturday. The shop had a peaceful ambiance with tasteful decor and comfortable seating. Besides the Turkish coffee, they offered decaf versions of all their drinks. The family running the shop was pleasant and polite. It's great to have a local shop like this to grab a high quality coffee drink on the go or to hang out. I have been to this cafe three weeks in a row since the first week I went. I love the decor, and the owners and staff are super nice. The food is delicious. I have tried their mortadella, Persian style hot dog, kuku sabzi, lentil soup , and both their savory and sweet breakfasts, and they were all excellent. I also love their masala chai, carrot juice, and ice cream. I highly recommend this place for brunch, breakfast or coffee!!! read more

We ordered the sweet breakfast platter which included bread, berry jam (), orange jam, clotted cream, butter, and honey. It was perfect for two with some tea and coffee. I want to give a big shoutout to Shemroon Cafe, a relatively new tenant in Orinda's Theater Square (next to the old Starbucks location) owned and operated by a lovely Iranian family. The espresso and coffee drinks (including Turkish coffee) are exceptional. The best iced latte I've ever had! The cafe offers an amazing selection of pastries as well as sandwiches. Every pastry sold -- cakes, tarts, focaccias, various croissants, and even the bread for sandwiches -- is made in-house. And they serve a delicious Persian breakfast all day, enough for two people to share. They're out of this world! read more

I think we accidentally came on opening weekend because it was PACKED and it seemed to be a lot of family and friends visiting. It was sprinkling and there weren't enough tables inside so we had to sit outside. It started to rain harder and then our toddler spilled her water cup onto her banana bread, and I guess the owner saw this happen and was thoughtful enough to give us a new slice which we very much appreciated. The Persian breakfast came with clotted cream, 2 jams, honey and pita. The jams were so full of fruit flavor without being overly sweet that it makes you want to keep coming back for more. The pita was strong and pliable which was a great vehicle for all the different offerings. The staff is fast and friendly. The cafe itself is the kind of place you come to absorb calm and serenity. I've come to dine and sip Persian tea by myself, with my toddler (who also loved it), and brought a variety of pastries to a friend's house and back to share with my family.
