Just att their mango pudding mousse sponge last night. It made me so happy, my toes were twitching inside my socks. Absolutely perfection. And so is their chestnut cake!

Very convenient location to very some Chinese bakery fixes after shopping at Ranch. We get our usual cream filled and cocktail buns, plus whatever catches our eyes at the moment. The buns are always spongy and fluffy, very fresh, but also very pricey. Not too much of our favorite varieties, we actually prefer the selection at their competitor, but can't beat the convenience

This review is for August 2025. Went there around 5:00pm. They ran out of the Chocolate Bun with cream that I like. - HK Pineapple buns no fillings inside $2.09 each - Pineapple buns with taro $2.65 each - Red bean bun $2.19 each - Cream bun $2.39 each All the buns except for the Cream bun were a little dry . Had to microwave them for 10 seconds.

All of your favorite things - individually wrapped in plastic :-(

Sheng Kee is one of popular spots in the Pacific East Mall, and it's just across from 99 Ranch. This place has all of your favorite Chinese and Taiwanese baked goods. Walking in is like a trip down nostalgia lane. . . I want one of those, and one of those, and one of those . . . But everything is wrapped in plastic. So. much. plastic. Every little thing, individually wrapped. I just couldn't do it. I wanted it all, but our world is drowning in plastic.

We tried some mango mouse cakes and tiramisu from this bakery and they were so delicious! We are so happy we tried them and will be back for some more. The mousse cakes are not too sweet, and had the perfect combination of mouse and cake in them. The tiramisu was very delicious though sweeter than the mousse cakes. The Tiramisu also had the right balance between cake and mousse as well. We will definitely be back for some more dessert here and happy to see that they have several locations throughout the Bay Area and will be trying other locations around the area.

Fruit danish from sheng kee was really good, inside was like vanilla pudding, fruit on top and danish pastry as the base.

This bakery is in Ranch 99, the interior is nice and clean! I'm not sure what these buns are called, but my family and I have been eating these for years and we found some here! It's absolutely delicious! It's creamy, buttery, soft, fluffy, and the coconut flakes add texture as well! Such a great dessert, its not too sweet too!! They have other desserts as well that range from sweet to savory. I also love to get their pan fried bbq pork buns, so delicious! The price isn't too bad as well!

I've got a sweet tooth - and I found this bakery hard to walk past with all the colorful cakes covered in fresh berries. Good quality. $10 minimum for cards. I saw a Japanese cheesecake - I probably should have gone with my instinct and taken that cake home. They didn't sell it in small slices so I didn't. Got some mango pieces. Good taste - not the best thing I ever had in my life though. The one piece had a lot of different layers. I liked that.... I suspect a lot of this was previously frozen or that the refrigerator was set too cold here. The inside middle layer was very crunchy frosty. Packaging was beautifully done and with a plastic fork included. Great to eat on the go. Ten dollar minimum for credit card use. For that I remove one star. My sweet tooth has recently caused me to avoid a sticky situation. You see I was heading to Trader Joes in Castro Valley but then realized they don't carry Dunkaroos. So I headed toward Safeway instead. On my way back I saw that a car drove inside the TJs that day. A Toyota Avalon. I got home and could hear the helicopters whirring above as I live very nearby. I guess what I'm saying is sticky sugary treats could save your life. Really all I ever hear about desserts is that they are unhealthy. I'm not so sure if I believe it fully.

Overcharged us for Raisin Bread instead of Sweet.

Been coming here for years since it's conveniently located across Ranch 99. Usually a quick grab and go; our usual go-tos: sweet toast, dinner rolls, and the occasional triangle sponge cake (was never a fan of their birthday cakes) or bbq pork pastries. We even bought $500 worth of gift card/coupons for my sister's tea ceremony last year because they have a few locations across the Bay for family and friends to visit and grab some baked goods. Fast forward to tonight-- we rush in thinking they close at 8pm (have gone at 7pm in the past and they would already be closed). We quickly grab a loaf of the SWEET toast & dinner rolls and the cashier rings up $9.80; we hand over a $10 gift certificate. The lady says we're like 20 cents under and we tell her it's okay and to keep the change, but she insisted that we had to buy another item....what kind of policy is that?? What takes the cake is that when we get home, we notice that she charged us for RAISIN toast instead of Sweet, which is almost $1 more. Normally we'd just shake it off since it's petty change, but being overcharged and forced to buy something else we didnt need/intend to get was an unpleasant experience overall.

Just love their bread!! Favorite is the cheese puff bread so good and no one has able to replicate this! It's being a while since I came back to visit here and now it has new type of bread and dessert

Cash only if purchase is under $10. I love the custard brioche buns. Tons of custard. Make sure you eat them that day for freshest flavor and quality. I love the little chicken and beef pies near the cash register. Most everything is good here. If you can't decide what to get, just get something random. Great spot. Price is a little high, but it's ok because quality is also high. 5 stars. Always a nice treat.

Chocolate bear cake over priced for the size and also horrible service!

I am so disappointed at the food changes and feeling bad to give a bad review as I love supporting small businesses and love Salvadorean food. There's a lot of room to improve. I've been eating Salvi food since I was child. If you order to go check before you leave. I had an item missing. I called and was able to get a refund. She handled it nice too since she forgot to add it. I took food to go. I added pictures on all. The tamales both chipilin and pork were good. The masa was excellent. The size was small to medium. The pupusas are tiny, they are good but nothing extraordinary. As they are small there's no cheese stretch or a good feel about the filling. The masa is good. The quesadilla pasty was crumbly, it did not feel fresh. It was dry with no flavor compared to ones I've eaten before. The best Salvi quesadillas are moist. The guava, pineapple, and custard empanada pastry were small. The pineapple one did not feel fresh, more on the dry side, crumbly compared to other flavors. The pork empanada was probably the worst. They were tiny with hardly any filling. The empanadas usually have a ground meat or shredded chicken. This one had pieces of pork so it was not flavorful at all. There's table seating indoors and outdoors. The yucca con chicharron was okay too. Usually it comes with a salad like but this one came with 1 beet, 1 slice of tomato and 1 slice of cucumber with a small bag of curtido. No sauce. Tip: The server gave me a business card and recommended to call for orders to go as the waiting time was 30 minutes. I did not mind waiting. I appreciated her sharing this. Tip: recommend the pork tamal. The pupusas if hungry get at least 3.

She was nice and helped us choose a cake that would meet our needs. I reminded her after the order was completed that I would be the one picking up the cake and I do not want it to be revealed what the gender is to me. When I went to go pick up the cake, the cake box was smaller than the cake so we couldn't close it properly to transport it safely. But I did notice pink on the top layer icing and I went back to the guy and asked him to cover it up. Instead of just covering the imperfection on an all white cake, he said you know the color on the inside is blue right? And i told him, no I don't but now the surprise is ruined. After being extra careful for a week to not know what the gender was going to be before the reveal. The person who packed the cake decided to get defensive about the imperfection on the all white cake and say what the color is on the inside. All I asked was to cover the imperfection so the cake is solid white like we ordered and not tell me what the color on the inside was. It was truly disappointing that they would try to argue the imperfection as it was clearly pink on top corner than to cover it with more white icing. Wouldn't recommend getting a gender reveal cake here. Truly ruined a good moment for us by having bad customer service skills.

I arrived around 7:30 and it was empty, but as I was deciding what to get there was a line out the door. Everything looks delicious it was so hard to choose. For myself I got the egg and ham croissant which was so unique and absolutely delicious. A perfect savory treat. I also had a bite of their strawberry-rhubarb breton which was also delicious, kinda like a shortbread cookie with cream and strawberry. The worker was super sweet helping me out and patient as I was struggling on what to order for her and myself. Small shop with meter/street parking.

Their food is generally pretty good: ranging from average (certain seasonal desserts, their ham and…read morecheese croissants, scones) to excellent (toffee cake, almond croissants, certain beads). They are on the pricey side but that's expected in the Bay Area. The reason for the two stars: of the last three times I've been there, they have gotten my order wrong TWICE. Once in a while is totally an acceptable accident but two thirds wrong is really poor service. The workers are nice but not exactly approachably friendly. They take the order in front of the register, receive payment, and then step over to the counter to collect the items. The issue is when you (I) order a lot of stuff, they get collected behind the counter and placed into a large shopping bag so you can't see what you are getting (or not getting). They walk around behind the counter grabbing stuff and those that have paid stand in a small corner away from the purchasing line so it's difficult to see what they do (or don't) pick up. The first time I came home to find my order of half loaf (they sell the large ones by halves, if you want) missing. I brushed it off as an accident. I don't live close enough to go back before they close and I wouldn't have proof anyways. This last time I went, they didn't put in a pastry! At this point, I'm down about $16 and beginning to wonder if it's deliberate. *sigh* So now I have to decide whether I boycott them altogether or only buy one or two items so I can see what I am getting or be the weirdo that takes out every item in a large shopping bag to double check their work. *sigh again*
