This is by far, the greatest hotel lounge/lobby area I've ever seen. To have this amount of space open to the public is nuts. It's certainly a spot I'd come by to just work, sip a cold brew (millennial, I know) or just people watch. That being said, Sheraton's worldwide are getting major upgrades so I decided to check this one out mid last year. Great stay and a great value. I get that downtown Phoenix doesn't have the best rep as far as things to do, but I found plenty within a scooter distance and would stay again. Just watch out for that Phoenix sun in the summer cause it will scorch your skin. read more

I stayed here last month for a conference. I was really impressed. From the lobby to the rooms, everything was immaculate. I usually don't sleep well away from home, but the bed was amazing. The conference rooms were very nice as well. The restaurant will deliver certain menu items to your room. After a long flight - that was amazing. Our cab driver from the airport told us about the outdoor dining and said they had a great breakfast. He was 100% correct. The menu is a little pricey, but I feel like that's just understood in hotel restaurants. The location is great and the amenities are very nice. They have a nice gym, and small pool with a bar next to it. If I ever have a reason to come back to Phoenix, this is definitely a place I would stay again. read more

I was not completely surprised to see that this hotel only averages 3 stars. I was hinged between 3 and 5 stars for the following reasons. Initially, I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service at checkin, as their hospitality seemed quite excellent. The agent was eager to assure our every need and request was met - including a late check out we had requested. 5 They have a magnificent 99 foot lap pool on the fourth floor, which I had all to my self three days in a row in the mornings. Perfect temperature and extremely relaxing. They have a wonderful pool bar adjacent (just outside the pool gate) with a friendly attentive bartender who also doubles as a Pool Attendant assuring there are plenty of towels, lounge chairs, menus and tables are clean and at the ready for guests throughout the day. So far, I loved this place... 5 STARS The rooms are quite nice, well equipped, however, lacking some full service hotel amenities, specifically a microwave. Huge flat screen TV is very nice, bathroom is on the smaller side, but does it's job. Rooms have nice views of downtown Phoenix. 4 STARS There are no restaurants, snack bars or shops open after 9:30 PM. There are also no snack vending machines anywhere on the property, so finding anything to eating or snack on after 9:30 PM is an impossibility unless you leave the property or were fortunate enough to have planned for that ahead. Sheratons are typically Full Service Hotels, which should include food, or snacks at minimum, round the clock, if not room service. There is also no guest laundry facility available, however, they do offer a laundry service at a cost if you are to be staying long enough. 3 STARS They have a huge and beautifully equipped fitness center with everything you could ask for, with a terrific filtered cold water dispenser. I filled my empty water bottles repeatedly during my stay to avoid buying more plastic. A very nice feature if you know where to look. 5 STARS I would happily stay here on future dates just for the pool, and wit( the knowledge to bring extra food for late night munchies. Well, I had very high hopes for this hotel! Located in downtown Phoenix not far from the Biltmore district. I decided to stay at this particular hotel due to a sheraton grand hotel is usually just that, grand. I will say, that the view was amazing, the Room looked stunning, but the bed was absolutely horrible. I truly felt like I was sleeping on a bed of bricks. It was so badd that both nights that I stayed there I woke up at about 3:00 a.m. Unable to go back to sleep because my back literally hurt me that bad. My goodness Marriott/sheraton hotels for the type of money that you're charging to stay there you really should invest in a better grade of bed. As we all know the most important thing when you travel, especially for work, is to have a bed that you can actually sleep in and get a good night's rest. The staff at the Sheraton has always been nice, helpful and understanding to one of the largest Anime Conventions in the state. This is a higher priced hotel that provides very minimal quality in return. Bathrooms towels are very thin, room is poorly designed and doesn't have the best furniture mix. They just sent a shortchange you in everything they do. read more

Beware! Sheraton Phoenix Downtown charges for things that are not requested nor delivered. I was charged $20 per night for a "High Floor" fee. I never asked for a high floor and was actually on the second lowest floor with guest rooms. This hotel, and Marriott by extension, are dishonest. read more

My stay was excellent. Room was outstanding, parking easy, and staff was upbeat & professional. Perfect spot if you need to stop over in downtown. My room was modern, clean, had large TVs and was loaded with ports and outlets. This place will be added to my short list the next time I'm in downtown. read more

This is a beautiful property inside and out. Customer service is 5-star, however there were just a few issues with the room (high pitched sound coming from adjustable table, toilet not flushing correctly and slight sink backup) however the beds are super comfortable and rest of accommodations were very nice. TechnoGym equipped workout facility was very nice and lap pool was clean and inviting. Restaurant inside is pricy but yummy food. Within walking distance to Phoenix Convention Center and other area restaurants. I would definitely stay again! read more

There are a grocery store near by too as well as other restaurants and shopping center across. The best thing about this hotel is their friendly employees at the front desk and I love the upgrades and late check out because I am their Bonvoy member. What a lovely hotel! I had to attend a conference here and everything went smoothly, staff guided people in, it was easy to get to, signing in was simple, and I could easily find my seat. Everything was very well organized. They had a huge breakfast for attendees which included a drink station: coffee, apple juice, orange juice, tea, and water. As for food they had eggs, french toast, diced herbed potatoes (these were my favorite part, delicious!), french toast, breakfast burritos, and oatmeal and probably more, it was pleasantly a lot to choose from! Staff was very friendly and accommodating, props to them for getting up so early to prepare all of this and having such a great attitude during the conference! The tables were done nicely and the restrooms were beautiful and clean. Overall I had a good experience! read more

Beautiful lobby area. Lacking in customer service. Front desk employee who checked me in didn't know what was what, didn't provide me with room rate details. I had to ask her all the questions such as parking, how the drink credits work etc. she was aloof and seemed annoyed, low voice so I kept saying 'excuse me?'. We self parked but their encrypting machine wasn't working so I had to call for help every-time we left the hotel. The room was not up to par - hair on the floors, in the beds and the shower curtains smelled like mildew. Absolutely disgusting. Dirty cups, remote controls, cabinets. Hotel windows were so dirty. What's the point in paying so much money for a dirty room and lackluster customer service? read more

I was staying multiple nights attending a conference. The checkin and checkout were seamless as both front desk agents were friendly and professional. The room I stayed in had a nice view of Chase stadium and was comfortable. The bed was extremely cozy! The lobby bar was always busy so during conferences I recommend staying open later- tacos and drinks were made to perfection! The one recommendation I would give the GM... please have a different option for bathroom amenities as the scent of all the amenities is too masculine, strong and woodsy. I paid months in advance for a late check out. At the time of reservation, the late check out was listed at 5pm. When I checked in I doubled check to make sure and they claimed it wasn't listed until I pulled out my reservation details. They told me late check out was at 4pm. The day I was checking out I went downstairs to ask about something unrelated and decided to check on the late check out time. They again claimed I didn't have a late check out until I insisted and then suddenly it was there. This time they told me late check out was 5pm. Around noon housekeeping knocked to clean my room and I had to explain AGAIN that I had paid extra for late check out which again they suddenly found after I didn't backdown. This added unneeded stress to my trip. I would be hesitant to book with them again for business. The internet also cost $15 a day?? read more

Sheraton Downtown Phoenix tacked $50 of undisclosed charges labeled "Urban Fee"s. I called their customer billing service and the agent said these are "mandatory" resort fees that Sheraton adds to all bills. These charges were not disclosed in the room rates or the invoice when I booked with the online travel agency Egencia nor were they disclosed by Sheraton prior to check out. Adding undisclosed, unauthorized charges meets the legal definition fraudulent business practices. Its unfortunate that Sheraton has these billing practices. Sadly I do not recommend this hotel and would not return. Check-in was smooth and easy, and the Marriott Bonvoy app makes things nice & convenient (checkin, ordering room service, knowing when you're room is ready, digital key, etc). Big issue though is that some of the rooms had signs of bed bugs. The first room I was given was not cleaned well--food on floor, hairs in bathroom, and black spots on bedding. So I was given a second room--which was even worse as the comforter had TONS of small red blood spots (looked like bed bug infestation)! I ran out of that room! I had to stay at this hotel because of being there for a work conference, otherwise I would've left. Thankfully the manager took this seriously and said they'd look into those rooms (up on 22nd and 27th floors), and instead she brought me to rooms on a lower floor. The next room she brought me to had a few red spots on the bedding...so we then went to another, 4th and final room that didn't have any signs of bedbugs at least. But throughout this lugging my luggage back and forth to reception after each room was exhausting, and I was so surprised that they didn't comp or upgrade anything--I felt like compensation would've been appropriate but I was too exhausted to bother asking. It was a horrible stay bc knowing there are bed bugs in the hotel made me feel itchy and anxious. I was surprised that their beds are just a cotton fitted sheet on the mattress itself--not even covering the full sides--without any mattress pads or covers. They might want to fix that. Housekeeping is pretty subpar as all four rooms, including the one I finally stayed in, were pretty dirty. If you stay here, do not look at the corners, phone, or anything too closely. The pool is the best part of this place. Also unusual that the coffee maker is in the bathroom right next to the toilet. If I return to the area, I'd stay elsewhere. read more

I went to an event last Saturday at this hotel and the three boys that were working in valet went above and beyond to help me with my car. The boys were Tommy, Copper, and Craig. Amazing stay other than checkout. Titanium Elite and thankful for the upgrade and late checkout but when the guy said they won't hold our bags at checkout (now that is a first in the hotel industry) and he was a jerk about it. We had to store our bags in our hot car (summer in AZ) and had to throw our food away. Not your typical Marriott experience and put a damper on the stay. Sheraton typically does better and I wish I caught his name so he could be coached up or moved out. Hopefully next time is a better overall experience! I have yet to see the bill so hoping that is correct and don't have to reply to this note again. read more

This has got to be one of my least favorite full service Marriott properties. I'm lifetime titanium elite so I feel like I'm qualified to compare properties. I asked for a quiet room not near elevators or vending and I was put across from the ice machine and the housekeeping office where they go in and out of constantly. There was no upgrade not even to a king room. They do have a concierge lounge but they quit serving breakfast at 8:30 in the morning which I find to be ridiculously early. This property is also very dated and to top it off my refrigerator is broken and there's water everywhere on the floor. There are too many other hotel options in downtown Phoenix I would recommend staying at any other one of those. read more

I go to an annual convention which takes place in a different city each year. This year, that convention was in Phoenix at this Sheraton. Out of all the convention hotels at which I've stayed for this particular event, I have to say this was one of the best. The convention center layout was perfect for our needs. The hotel rooms were not completely state-of-the-art, but the rooms were comfortable and quiet and dark at night. The biggest asset of this hotel is the staff. The practically bent over backwards to accommodate us. This was particularly true at the start of the week. There was a horrible explosion in downtown Phoenix at some sort of power supply center (including a fatality), and much of downtown Phoenix was temporarily out of power, including the top floors of this hotel. They gave everyone on the upper floors the option to move to a lower floor to have power and especially a/c. Their restaurant (reviewed separately) was also without power, so they gave everyone interested a complimentary continental breakfast that morning. The pool is on a terrace on the 4th floor, and it is a saline pool, another big plus for me. It was a pleasure to stay here. read more

I'm from North Carolina and was so impressed with this hotel. My daughter works at the Ritz in Charlotte and this hotel has as more amazing than that. The lobby was absolutely beautiful and the service for food and drinks was on point. I love the bright, airy atmosphere this hotel has. The rooms are beautiful but the bed were not as comfortable as I would like. Sheets were not as luxurious but nonetheless we so enjoyed our stay. I stayed here for 24 hours on a work trip, and I must say: out of all the downtown Phoenix hotels I have stayed at, this one is my favorite so far! It is centrally located to many bars and restaurants downtown. There are also public transportation options a short walk away. The rooms had a mini fridge, safe, coffee bar AND a robe inside the closet, which was plenty spacious to hang clothes and store a suitcase. The large king sized bed was firm but comfortable, though I did need to use three of the pillows to sleep comfortably because they flatten out pretty easily. There was a huge TV in the bedroom with Netflix and YouTube capabilities. The bathroom was large and clean with great lighting and shower pressure. Free continental breakfast was included in my stay, with the option to upgrade to a full breakfast buffet for only $6. The dining area was located on the 4th floor, along with the gym and outdoor pool/bar. The gym was very large with plenty of cardio machines, a variety of cable machines, and free weights. Overall, this hotel had everything to keep guests entertained, and I wouldn't be surprised if anyone didn't have to/want to leave for anything! 10/10 hope to stay again! read more

Stayed here for a work conference. The property is very nice, very clean, and very well maintained. The bar was also really nice and had a nice selection. Hotel rooms were immaculate, no complaints about any stains, old furniture, bad smells, or dust. My only complaint, which is a small one, is that the showers are a bit small so it's kind of hard to fit inside of them and use them properly. Your arm will hit the metal soap tray that's awkwardly fixed on the shower wall. The conferences rooms got a bit stuffy but overall they're really great and well sized. Everything was set up perfectly. All in all, this is a great place to stay if you're in the Phoenix area. read more

But what are the odds of us staying on the same floor?!?! Super loud!! Non stop!! From 7 am to 4 pm!! So if you are looking for a quite place to relax for a couple of days.... Make sure to stay somewhere else, or ask if they will be drilling on the floor you are gonna be staying!! This is so loud its ridiculous. read more

First, the lobby is under construction so the review might not be fully accurate in a few months, but most of the review won't change. The Sheraton Phoenix downtown is located a convenient 10 min ride away from the airport. Huge hotel with a large pickup/drop-off zone, multiple elevator banks, and grand conference room facilities on the 2nd floor round up the place. The 2nd floor has 1 conference room temporarily being used as the reception desk. A bit awkward but whatevs. However, due to renovation there is no real bar except a small pool bar area which is tiny, has limited drink selection, and closes early. No bueno. I got upgraded to a suite (yay!), which is very spacious, but still a bit dated. Furniture was comfortable enough, but the room was not the best lit and the bathroom was typical Sheraton bland. However, noise isolation was good, and wifi worked without an issue. Overall, decent enough stay, but Phoenix does have some really good hotel alternatives. read more

I thought this hotel was great. 4.5/5 stars. Easy check in, modern lobby and FRIENDLY checkin staff. Room was on 27th floor. Quiet, modern, nicely thought out room. Had a cool sit/stand desk with electric height adjustment and power plugs built in. Must have been fairly recently renovated. Parking was $30/day and was easy to get in and out. Only issue is small hair on bathroom vanity. But overall very clean. read more
