We dined with vegetarian friends and shared aloo gobhi (cauliflower/potato), dal makhani (lentils), palak paneer (spinach cottage cheese), and baingan bhartha (eggplant). The eggplant was delicious. The meal was fantastic. But the portions were not very big, especially for the price, so I was a little disappointed there was nothing left to enjoy with eggs in the morning. Service awkward but attentive. Ambiance relaxing though the acoustics seemed to be off. We ordered our food mild. Looking forward to returning soon and trying some dishes with meat. read more

Been many times to the big-sister restaurant in Media, Pa and loved it. This one started out well. Food is good. Decor and ambience is very nice. loads of cosy booths. almost modern bistro atmosphere which is lovely, and music is present, but In the background. Their rating of spiciness in a 1 - 5 scale doesn't seem to mean much, as our main dishes all had the same average spiciness, despite our asking for a range between 2 and 5. We couldn't figure why they had bothered to ask! Wait staff are friendly and helpful, but we must have had 5 different servers during one meal, and they were definitely not all on the same page. That becomes mildly irritating when someone else asks if they can take your order!!!! Overall, the food is very good, although we really did want a spicy blast on a couple of dishes, but everything is fresh and aromatic. read more

Brought two kids with us, discovered they also have a kiddie pizza naan (but the kids preferred the biryani rice and mango lasso). One star because I had no other option. Worst food I had. I ordered Punjabi tikka masala and reshmi kabab, the gravy was very bland, a mixture of tomato puree with some yogurt, I didn't taste any Indian spices in it, chicken was very dry, kababs were stale and dry, highly over priced for the low quality food they served, they are charging people for the place. I have been to this restaurant three times since september, which itself is unusual for us as we dont usually eat out often. The first two times were eat-ins and the third time was a take out. I believe that this restaurant is the best Indian restaurant in the Philly area - the ambience, the quality and service are all excellent. The first time we ate here, our waiter was very attentive and made sure the order was made as per our 'Indian' tastes. The food was exactly what we wanted and a class apart from the average fare dished out in the name of Indian cuisine at the typical Indian restaurants. We were back within a month and this time, ordered two different dishes. We werent dissappointed ! (Dont miss their gobi naan !) This is one of the very few Indian restaurants I have seen in the Philly area that has clean, spacious toilets with good decor. The third time we ordered a take-out and for some reason they thought we had ordered 1 naan when we had ordered five naans. In order to make up for this misunderstanding, the restaurant only billed us for one naan ! I thought this was a great gesture on their part and showed that customer comes first for this restaurant. This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had. On par with places that I've eaten like Rasika in Washington DC and some really great curry shops in the UK. We've been there for lunch and dinner and the food has been consistently fresh and delicious. I love the fact that they have a 5 point spiciness level for you to pick your comfort level. The "regular" is spicy enough for a wimp like me. We've had the Tikka Masala, the Saag, the Vindaloo, the Aloo Gobi, the Naan, the fish appetizer, the samosas, and the Aloo Tiki Chat (which I LOVE). All fabulous. Would highly recommend...would love to see this place stay in business so get out there and support it! read more

The price is high, the portion is small and the taste sucks. Ordered shrimp vindaloo and for a dish that is $17 there are only 7 shrimps in the whole dish. These shrimps are not jumbo by any means. The sauce has an artificial taste. Does not taste like any vindaloo that I have had. Really disappointed. Will not return. read more

I finally found an Indian restaurant in the area with great food. I asked them to make me their most popular dish and it turned out to be wonderful. My wife and I have ordered it twice. We are frequent customers here and we love it. The breads are just perfect and yummy. Our favorite curries are chicken tikka and malai kofta.. They are splendid and we end up ordering them almost every time. Only once we had ordered a different chicken but it was not cooked properly. Food was delicious and service was prompt and attentive, without being intrusive. My son spent time in India and enjoyed his biryani. The 5 star heat was hot enough for him. The pakura was awesome. I have been to this restaurant several times for both lunch and dinner. the ambiance is nice and the people friendly. The food is very good. I find the menu a bit complicated because their dishes are not the standard Indian fare. The chef puts his/her own gloss on to (what I think of) as traditional Indian food. We stopped by this place for an early dinner on a Friday afternoon after work. I have to admit that we were initially a bit skeptical, as the restaurant is nestled in a shopping complex (Glen Mills location) and almost always appears to look empty. However, we were pleasantly surprised. There were a variety of selections on the menu, all of which could be customized according to your preferred spice level (1-5, with 5 being the most spicy). We ordered about 6 different dishes and all were good- just the right amount of seasoning/spices. The wait staff were friendly, and the restaurant itself was not too bad. Probably not enough seating for large parties, but ample seating for a typical lunch (or dinner) crowd. We have sampled several Indian restaurants in the PA/NJ/DE area (Nirvana, Palace of Asia, Monsoon, Tashan), and we believe that the food here is pretty decent compared to other places. Came here for lunch. A little pricey for lunch; I wouldn't exactly call them specials. The menu says they come with salad, but we were brought a small plate with some iceberg and cucumbers with no dressing for the two of us. We also were given only only one small bowl of rice for us both to share. The waiter asked if we wanted a refill of naan, but didn't mention the double cost. I also thought the main dishes were mediocre. So, maybe this place better for dinner, but we weren't impressed for lunch. read more

This is excellent Indian food! I asked the waiter 2 times what he recommends that is dairy free and he has never steered me wrong. I said I like spicy food and so I tried a 3 (out of 5) and wow, it was pretty spicy. The next time I got a 2 and it was perfect. The flavors are amazing and the atmosphere is clean and neat. Even though we made a reservation (2 people) we still had to wait for a table. Service was terrible...we were seated about 30 min. before we were successful flagging a server. Service deteriorated throughout the meal but the kicker was the manager who took our payment but had to be "reminded" to bring us our change. Food was good but we won't be returning. read more
