Great little place for cheap Chinese fast food. Pro: Its always busy and they are constantly putting out fresh trays. Con: Its small and can get crowded pretty fast. My favs are the tempura green beans and salt & pepper prawns. Everything else is your run of the mill Chinese fast food: sweet n sour, broccoli beef, chow mein, rice, egg rolls. Sit down buffet is a good bang for your buck. We usually do the buffet sit down. Wow, what happened to Sherman's, quantity over quality. The teriyaki chicken was made with Tenderloin and the tendon was still attached. The broccoli and beef, is a cheap quality of beef they use baking soda to soften it. I would rather have less food and quality. People let wake up to this lower level of service. read more

Always enjoyed the food up until recently. My son found a hair in his food the previous time he ate at Sherman's. Decided to give it another chance after a month or so and after inspecting our food this time 3 of our combo plates had hair in them. Two of them i took back . The other we threw away . Two different times with hair in our food. The restaurant should really look into hair nets. 5 stars for service and quality of their food! You get such big portions compares to the amount you pay. Their garlic chicken and teriyaki chicken are my go to's for this place. Check it out if you want something fast and cheap, but the quality is still up there! Time after time I continue to go regardless of the shitty service you receive. It's so upsetting that you literally get made an ugly face, and treated poorly for asking for an extra hot sauce. So many good moments there. I heard the rumors and wanted to try this one out. I'm glad we did, excellent food at reasonable price. Here's my story The Eldest Princess I was with my daughter having our Daddy and Daughter day. I wanted to take her here. I told her it's the at the old Fuzhou place. Fuzhou was another Chinese restaurant that was located here. But they went out of business. So we arrived and it's a buffet. We sat down and ordered our drinks. Then went to get our food. There's not a lot of space. So during peak time, you might not be able to find a place to sit. It's pretty much the basics of Chinese food, that you'll find at most places. Chow mein, pork fried rice, fried egg rolls etc etc. But the food is on point, doesn't sit around in the heat trays too long. Because it's usually pretty busy and that's a good thing. Fresh food, ya dig!! So we loaded up on everything and went to town on the grub. I really like the egg flower soup that is served here. Also the little fried puffs with cream cheese is on fire. My daughter liked pretty much everything, she trips me out. She's so tiny but she eats hella good. We hit a second plate and just continued to talk and enjoy the moment. I looked around and told her "Daddy will make it happen". So we ordered two to go plates. Loaded with who knows what. We walked outside and opened the trays and ate the food off the hood of my car. Talking and just gazing at the night sky. We do stuff like this, making the best out of anything and everything. The Fam Bam. I told my Mama and brother about this place. So I suggested that we come here. Mom was against, didn't want to try something new. I told her "You'll definitely like this place" It wasn't too packed inside when we arrived. I'm glad they opened another Sherman's on the other side of Stockton! This is located in the same plaza as Safeway and serves the same quality of food as the other one on Waterloo. The amount of money you pay and the quality of food is extremely worth it. You will never leave hungry and they fill up your to go boxes to its maximum capacity. The noodles and rice are decent and my favorite side dish is the teriyaki chicken with onions and green peppers. I recommend this place over all the other Chinese delis in the Stockton. read more

We stopped here for lunch today. It is a very tiny restaurant..but I was awestruck at how well it was run. The staff keep things sparkling clean and wait on everyone in a friendly and professional manner. This is a small buffet and the food is fresh and hot. All the seats were filled. The restaurant is cool and inviting...with two tv's. I especially enjoyed the garlic chicken..which was fresh and hot...and the stuffed cream cheese things..I can't think what they are called..but they are triangular..and you dip them in a red sauce. (04/30/17) Based on service, quality, and portion size for your buck, this is easily a 5 star joint. Yes you can get some better Chinese food somewhere else, but not for the type of prices or serving size as Sherman's. Chow Mein - more noodles less veggies just how I like it and it's not super greasy! Fried Rice - I could do without the peas but very few places make it without. Still a good dish. Orange Chicken - I think I liked Joy Luck's a little better flavor wise but here you actually get chunks of chicken not a bunch of batter! The quality for the food here is great. Just looking at their buffet set up, a lot of the food looks better than most Chinese delis I've been to. Great new additions--spicy boil beef and fish in 1-1/2 quart container --sauce was spicy, beef was tender and plentiful --fish (basa) quantity was adequate. Taste was quite good. Well worth the 7 bucks (7.50 now) highly recommended, --I asked for less oil, and they accommodated that--it wasn't that greasy. Note that the sauce, while quite spicy and taste good, did not have the small red pepper flakes that most spicy boiled beef/fish dishes have. Still good on 2nd try. The chow main had a little weird tastes my husband and I couldn't figure it out. The fried rice was pretty good. I can't give four or five stars because they don't have sign for what food you're getting (chicken or pork) I just winged it and grabbed it. I don't eat pork so it sucked to not know. My first time to check this buffet out, from Dale's recommendation . There are some things that I didn't like. It's a small compact restaurant, with the buffet I would say not a lot of selections . I went on a dinner time . So I thought if it's a dinner there will be more selections . For me it looks like the food for less Chinese to go selections . At first I got confused coz i didnt know how I am supposed to get my food since there's a lot of people coming in and the staff are asking ( in a hurry ) to get their orders ( for to go) so all these people just come right in front of the food and in my way even if I came in first .
