This is the real deal. And I don't mean for authenticity, because I've never been to India or Nepal. I just mean this food was. Crazy good and you should eat here. Started with the samosas - two per order, great for sharing. I love that the potatoes are shredded instead of mashed! But the real winner here is the sauce. I would eat anything with that sauce, pretty sure. I ordered the curry and my friend ordered the butter chicken. Both were super tasty, although I may give the edge to the butter chicken. Apparently I'm a sucker for cream. Generous portions, we were stuffed. We also ordered garlic naan, which was really light and fluffy and delicious. One order came with four decent pieces, so don't overdo it (we did). Glad we tried this place on a whim! Definitely a keeper. read more

WOW! This place is perfect! Just visiting here and needed a good dinner restaurant on a rainy day and this exceeded our expectations! Huge portions and tons of flavor in each dish! For a family of 5, we ended up eating off of each other's plates. Would definitely recommend the momo, chicken makhani, saag paneer, and DEFINITELY the date naan (that naan is addicting. Even after being stuffed finishing each other's meals, we ate every bite of the naan). I wouldn't hesitate to ask for anything from the staff, they are very sweet and attentive but it is a busy place! This has exceeded our expectations! read more

I walked inside and placed a to go order. I told the guy I wanted his top two recommendations and he told me the chicken tikka masala and the chicken momo. It was plenty of food to feed at least 3 and it was soooo good. I've had dumplings before, but their momo was as good as it gets. Masala was also very flavorful. This restaurant has the most nourishing food. The chicken thukpa soup is full of fresh veggies and has a wonderful savory broth. The momos were delicious as well. The place is very small, but is run very efficiently. Even at 5:15 there was a wait, but it moved quickly. We found this place in yelp while in CB for the first time. It was the top rated place for dinner so we had to check it out. Small dining area, but good parking out front which was super convenient. They had a rush of take out orders when we arrived so it took awhile for us to get our orders taken, but they have a very small staff and they were trying to appease everyone. We ordered the chicken momos, garlic naan, and chicken tikka. All were SO good. The chicken tikka could've been spicier but we forgot to specify so that was on us. The momos were so unique! I've never had them before so they were a real treat, and super filling. This place is gem in this ski town that we will definitely come back to! read more

After trying three restaurants in downtown Crested Butte we finally found Sherpa Cafe. Friendly staff, quiet so you can talk to whoever is on your group, and not so pricey. Food was decent although not nearly as spicy as we like our food. We asked for it to be spicy but still was bland. read more

An amazing opportunity to have real authentic Nepalese food. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the chicken tikka masala. The appetizers were also great and the chai tea was unbelievable! They also sell local Nepalese beer which is extremely difficult to find. The owner was also great. She was extremely friendly and provided great service. It was amazing speaking with her. She accommodated our large group for a birthday and took reservations. There was no music when we were there so it felt a bit quiet in there but not a big deal at all. read more

I travel annually to Nepal; momos are my comfort food. As a DC resident, I was thrilled to find a Nepalese restaurant in Crested Butte which smelled authentic the moment I walked in the door. I sat at the bar during a busy lunch (we were in town for the Art Festival). As I was dining alone I was able to watch the dishes coming from the kitchen. All the right smells and with overwhelmingly large portions my anticipation grew. Thankfully my momos were authentic and exactly as I hoped! Wowwwwww what a hidden gem!! This place isn't on the main strip, so it's not as crowded, which is great during Covid. We sat outside and had a fantastic meal. We ordered the samosas and pakora as appetizers (dont skip these, they're absolute musts), and they were phenomenal. My husband got the chicken chow mein and I got the dumplings and both were incredible. The spices were fantastic, and this place is distinctly Nepalese, NOT Indian. While you can get traditional Indian dishes here (like the Tikka masala), I would highly recommend trying something new...it blew our minds. OH, and the chai!!! Yum! read more

We eat here often. Always good. Great authentic Nepalese food, nice atmosphere, great service. Love this place. We shared appetizers and main dishes. The samosas were so good last night with that addicting sauce. The naan was bubbly and delicious just a nice amount of garlic. All our main dishes were so good and we live the spinach dish. Wine and beer prices are reasonable as are their dishes. Highly recommend this restaurant when in Crested Butte. read more

Fantastic food. We had the Mo Mo dumplings and the Saag paneer. We could tell all of the food was hand made (including the dumplings. Generous portion sizes. We are Pakistani, so we are a little more discerning on south Asian food, but we were pleasantly surprised. We will return again on our four day trip. read more

First of all, huge fan of seeing Nepalese and Tibetan restaurants. However, flavors seemed to be watered down for the tourist clientele. Lacked the spice and flavor that I know and love. Service was good and food came out hot and quickly, but just wish it had more oomph. read more
