A favorite early meal spot for locals. Ladies working there are lovely and sausage & buscuit offering was delicious.

Okay service Haddock chowder was more like potato soup…read moreway too many potatoes very little haddock and thin flavor was decent. Seafood platter was pretty terrible haddock was either frozen or old calamari was hard to find inside the breading same with the shrimp way to thick of a breading. So even though this seems like a classic breakfast and lunch spot, they are open til 8pm so we were able to stop in for dinner while bypassing the rush hour traffic. So glad we did! The friendly host gave us a great seat by the window and our server was wonderful - quick and very accommodating with our modifications. Great beer and wine list too. My daughter's butter pasta was a big bowl of nice, buttery fettuccine that she devoured. The club sandwich is a tasty classic, served with house-made potato chips that are super crispy and addicting. My favorite bite, though, was my black and bleu burger. I'm a sucker for this particular type of burger and this rendition was one of my favorites - big juicy patty, plenty of funky bleu cheese, super fresh veg, and a homemade roll that held up nicely to all the deliciousness. The side salad was LOADED with veggies (just how I like it!) and the raspberry vinaigrette was so good, I could drink it. We took home a homemade lemon cookie with cream cheese frosting that was flipping outstanding. At the end of it all, I was super happy with how reasonably priced everything was, especially for the quality and portion. The people here are also a big draw - every interaction was kind and genuine. Just good people serving good food. Don't wait in line - go to Jodie's!

We arrived early and found a spot in the very small lot they have next to the building. There were plenty of street spots open within walking distance as well. The whole area fills up starting in late morning, so I would plan your trip and know all of your parking options in advance so that you aren't driving 5 miles an hour down the road looking for parking. LOL There is usually a wait, so just be prepared for it. I was able to put our name on the list and we walked around the area. Our server was great - wow was she energetic. Zipping around, smiling and engaging with all of the customers. Our food was delicious!! The sticky bun...we managed to snag one of the last few left. Again, get there early if you don't want to miss out. The corned beef hash - amazing Biscuits - YUM Gravy - savory goodness. Home fries - flavorful and not too greasy. Eggs - perfect! I highly recommend this place and I hope to be able to return again soon, during the non-tourist season.

This cozy breakfast and lunch spot is popular with locals and visitors, so you'll likely have to wait for a table. It is definitely worth the wait, but If you're in a hurry, check to see if a seat is available at the counter. Service at Home Kitchen is warm and welcoming, and you're in for a treat if you're lucky enough to sit in Zan's area (short for Suzanne). I couldn't decide between a tuna sandwich or a grilled cheese, and she suggested combining both into a tuna melt. Brilliant! Along with a shared order of large fries, it was a tasty and filling lunch. The best part? All of it was gluten free! Home Kitchen bakes their own GF bread and pastries, and they are far superior to grocery-store GF baked goods. Even though we were sated from lunch, Zan encouraged us to order dessert, since they had a GF chocolate cupcake with salted caramel frosting. On her recommendation, we got two cupcakes to go - a GF chocolate cupcake for me, and a pumpkin cupcake with maple cream cheese frosting for my friend -- which we enjoyed later in the day from the comforts of home. Wow. Super delicious. More please!

Holy goodness!! Worth the hype!!…read more This was on my list of places to try and wow I am so happy we finally did! As soon as we walked in, i knew it would be great as you can see them working in the kitchen. I always think that shows how good the food will be if you can see them work. The food was fantastic, the donut was insane!! All of it was so tasty I can't wait to start driving up and taking everyone I know. I know I will love it through the seasons too! Everything is so fresh. The space is small but quaint so I would recommend getting a reservation! They do have a sweet bar you can sit at and look into the kitchen too. I loved the market, you can actually go and grab something to drink in there and have it for your table. The market also has quality cooking ingredients you can buy and cute nic nacs too!

I think the space is very cozy, with an open kitchen and wood tables and bar. The cute little market in back is wonderful to check out before or after your meal. The staff is absolutely wonderful. So kind and making recommendations along with answering any questions you have. I think for the price of food you are really getting a great deal. Everything is made fresh in house from scratch which you can watch when you sit at the bar which i did. Watching orange juice wbu freshly squeezed and the donuts being put together from absolute scratch. The burger is definitely a great choice, I couldn't get over the house cut fries and the alna sauce was wonderful to dip them in. The burger was juicy and delicious and paired perfectly with the Volcanique red they had on the menu. My mother ordered the grits and eggs, this dish was cooked perfectly and had a house made salsa verde. The side of sourdough is a must get for shareable side. The house made jam was spectacular - they make every sauce and dip and spread in house and you can really tell. It elevates the meal so much. The drinks were a bit overpriced in my opinion but as someone who lives in Portland i wasn't surprised they were priced that way. The standout from the meal was definitely the sour dough donut. This was fried fresh to order and we had the seasonal flavor that was lime glazed and it was absolutely breathtaking! The crispy exterior with the fluffy inside was perfection - you have to order this. I definitely will need to come and check out dinner here. Highly recommend making the trek out!
