We have visited over 30 wineries, breweries, distillerys along the Finger Lakes and this was by far…read morethe most disappointing. The server at the meadery/cindery couldn't answer any of our questions about the products she was pouring, and the place had the feel of abandonment. We were the only ones there, and now we know why. The staff was disinterested in helping us, had zero knowledge of the products, and was definitely not engaging or fun. Made us feel like a burden. There are PLENTY of good places to go, places that want your business, and want to talk about their products. Leave this place off your list!

I only had two wineries earmarked for our Finger Lakes trip: Montezuma on the Cayuga Lake wine…read moretrail because I already knew I liked their mead and blueberry wine, and this meadery on the Seneca Lake wine trail because meads and fruit wines are my favorite. Right now, you come inside to ask for a tasting which they will bring to you at a covered table outside. They currently offer tastings from a few preset lists. The traditional mead was my favorite. I might even like it a smidge more than the sweet mead from Montezuma, but they are pretty closely matched in flavor. The contemporary mead has spicier flavor (not hot, just herbaceous). If you're familiar with the Niagara wine trail, the traditional is like a lighter, less heady Odin's Nectar from Black Willow Winery (which I also love, but prefer in cooler months) and the contemporary reminded me of meads I've tried at 810 Meadworks. I also tried meads blended with cranberry, strawberry or raspberry wines. They were good, but my favorite wine is Blueberry Bounty, which is 45% blueberry wine and 55% mead. It tastes 100% like Red Vines to me (except not synthetic). I bought a bottle of that, and the traditional mead. Service is great. The venue is beautiful.

I love mead so I was looking forward to trying this place but ended up disappointed. They have a…read morelarge selection of different flavors of mead - but I didn't see any that were straight-up regular plain mead. Mead is delicious by itself without anything being added. I got the Horchata one (since that is also something I enjoy). The first sip was good, but the more I drank of it, the more it just tasted fake and flavored, and I did not finish it. Based on that one I wouldn't want to try others. The food menu is very limited. The pizza crust is very thin - more like a crackery flavor - and the pepperoni is only in a circle on the outside? So it's basically a cheese pizza until you get to the crust unless you want to reorganize the toppings yourself. Atmosphere varies - many times I have stopped by and it was standing-room only and very loud, and I left without making it up to the bar. This time I came early enough that I was able to get a seat. It feels very dark after coming in from outside. Staff is friendly. Decor is fun and bee-themed. Restrooms are easily accessible and all-gender. Overall it is a fun place to hang out but the food and drinks didn't do it for me.

The staff was very friendly, helpful, and fun. The cidery and winery are on the same property and only a 1 to 2 minute walk apart from each other. The traditional honey mead had a beautiful, light honey flavor with a little alcoholic kick. I might not drink this straight, but I could think of many ways to blend that beautiful honey flavor into drinks. Then we tried the mead blended into fruit wine. I liked the raspberry blend but blueberry was my favorite. The very clear taste of the fruit was beautiful with the honey notes and you knew it wasn't just a juice drink..the alcohol was there as well. The ciders were a nice surprise taste wise. I'm not a big cider fan, but when I tasted the gold medal winning Strawberry and crisp apple cider it was a win for me. The single fruit choices of all these were selections were wonderful.... sometimes the blending of different fruits leaves to confused tastes for me. Our bartender was very nice and friendly and helpful. It also has a winery Torrey Ridge in the same facility.
