I've been a patient in many different dentist office's across the country and abroad. Dr. Louie and Dr. Scott's office is far and beyond the best experience I've had. Anna the receptionist is simply wonderful, the hygienists are all genuinely caring, and Dr. Louie (who I see) is great. He managed my Invisalign process, along with some other light cosmetic work. Dr. Louie took the time to explore different options with me, and Anna happily researched and explained the associated costs in advance so there were absolutely no surprises. I've never waited more than 5 minutes for my appointment-- they really run a tight ship and yet the environment still seems so friendly and relaxed. STAY AWAY from this doctor. I came in for 2 minor fillings. Within 2 weeks both fillings had cracked and one caused me enormous pain. Dr. Louie re-did the fillings, with some incompetent excuses, and within 2 weeks I had to see a root canal specialist because he had destroyed my tooth. I've had three doctors look at his work now and confirmed that he has no idea what he's doing. read more

I've only had two dentists in Los Angeles, so I don't have much to compare Dr. Louie's office to. HOWEVER, my visit with Dr. Louie and his staff was amazing. They take every precaution and follow COVID related procedures. My hygienist Valencia (?) was very efficient, knowledgeable, and kind. I got a standard cleaning from her, received an X-ray, and had a general exam with Dr. Louie. Everything took a little over an hour. They accepted my delta dental insurance, scheduled my next cleaning, and sent me on my way! ALSO, I learned that Dr. Louie and Valencia are both USC graduates (go Trojan!) and Dr. Louie even taught at USC dental school for 10 years--definitely makes me feel like I'm in good hands. In the middle of a pandemic, the LAST thing you want to do is probably go to a dentist. But I have to say that the staff AND Dr. Louie were super upfront with costs and efficient and this was not only a great visit but I really felt that they weren't trying to upsell me on things I didn't need while fixing immediately (and they didn't have to!) the thing I needed fixed. Dr. Louie is a disappointment. I was a patient of Dr. Louie for 6 years. Was very happy with the service. However, I have now had multiple disastrous appointments at this office now. Be aware, when they say to call them if you have any issues (pain, etc.) and they will take care of you...THIS IS NOTHING FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH. If you call with pain they will do anything to divert you away from them cleaning up their mistakes. In my last cleaning, I told my hygienist very clearly NOT to use instruments on my receding gum lines after she began poking them (putting my mouth in pain). AFTER I told her this, she continued over working my receding gum lines while she wouldn't stop talking in order to START focusing on what she was doing. They don't listen and are to busy talking instead of paying attention to the work. So I left that appointment with extremely sore gums that I still have today. Then I saw Dr. Louie who told me that I had a mercury filling that had to be removed because if it wasn't, I would need a root canal eventually. FYI - I had no pain in this tooth - ZERO and the root was perfectly healthy. So, trusting Dr. Louie (big mistake), I let him do a crown procedure which I paid $2500 out of pocket for. I had immediate excruciating pain the day after. I was in continuous pain for 2 weeks when I went back in for the permanent crown. Dr. Louie told me next time to call him when I am in pain. OK, I agreed. The first night of my permanent crown my pain continued. So, I CALLED DR. LOUIE. Dr. Louie told me there is nothing he can do and he needed to send me to another Dentist for a root canal. You are kidding me? I just had a tooth with a healthy root and no pain and now I am in pain and Dr. Louie wants to send me to another dentist to spend MORE MONEY so I can be pain free? Dr. Louie did a procedure on a painless tooth and I now have constant excruciating pain. I cannot EAT, I cannot SLEEP. What a crappy performance from such a "highly touted" dentist. Go to Dr. Louie and this is what you get: -You pay $2500 -You get pain when you DIDN'T HAVE ANY TO BEGIN WITH (both in a teeth cleaning and under the drill) -You get nothing but a brush off and intimidation tactics from both Anna (she is another story...someone that needs to be in another job not face to face with the public) at the front desk and the Doctor himself when you call Dr. Louie. They "want" you to call but they are praying you don't so they can take your money and run. This office has become a sham. Maybe it always was? read more

I've been coming to Dr. Louie for the past 7 years and he's the only dentist I trust! Almost 10 years ago, at the beginning of my 20s, I got veneers with a dentist back home. They were horrible, bulky, completely opaque, they didn't properly cover the contour of my gums... I was stuck with them for almost a decade because I couldn't afford new ones. I found Dr Louie 7 years ago and he was able to shave them off a little bit and give them a better shape. I could tell right away how good he was. He understood exactly what I wanted and had a great eye and incredible attention to detail. When I could finally afford new veneers, I knew I had to get them with him. My main request was that I wanted my smile to look beautiful but natural. After a traumatizing decade of having very fake looking teeth, the last thing I wanted was for anybody to be able to tell I had veneers. I was only doing the top teeth so I wanted them to blend in with the bottom in both color and translucency, and not have that "veneer overbite" where the top looks much wider. Dr Louie understood this perfectly and I felt heard and very involved in the design of my new smile. He is very thorough, works with the best labs and truly cares about giving his patients the best result. Here's a before and after picture so you can see for yourself! Went to Dr Louie because my dentist (Danny Scott who was amazing), merged his practice with him as he transitioned to retirement. After Danny was gone, everything changed. They constantly try to upsell you on products, they pressure you to come in every 4 months for cleaning, I refused and stuck to the every 6 month schedule. They did two crowns for me which keep falling out. One crown does not match in color and is too long. They fired my dental hygienist because she wasn't selling enough...unbelievable. The people who work there are very nice, but I would bet they are also pressured to sell, sell, sell. Not impressed. read more

What a find! I am so dental phobic. Dr. Louie and his staff are just the absolute best. They call and check in on me frequently before and after appointments. And after a recent procedure, my friend was running late to pick me up (I was doing sleep dentistry so couldn't drive myself after coming out of anesthesia) and Dr. Louie actually drove me home... NO KIDDING. They also gave me a $50 gift card to give to a friend... Who does that? Dr. Louie is amazing and takes great care to make sure you're comfortable and that the process is as painless as possible. I've had the best dental work of my life done here and am completely impressed with the results I've seen from Dr. Louie's work. I had multiple crowns and fillings done, as well as comprehensive Invisalign work done that made fixed a very serious underbite issue that I was convinced I would not be able to fix without jaw surgery. I came to Dr. Louie's office for help with repairing a bad crown job from a previous dentist. He took care of the whole procedure and I really felt like I was in professional hands. He had to rebuild the entire post and crown from scratch and he did a fantastic job! It was a long procedure but he was really thorough and did not take any shortcuts unlike my last dentist. I now feel so much more confident and happy. I also love Len, his assistant and Lora, his receptionist. They made the whole process smooth and comfortable for me. Just great!
