After some wildly overpriced, poorly executed renovation work (oh, don't worry boys, you are gonna get a well deserved review of your own, trust me) left us with paint that absolutely did not match the original walls, I got sent on what can only be described as a Home Improvement Side Quest™. We even had the original Sherwin-Williams paint can with the specs on it. You'd think that would make things simple. You would be wrong. Home Depot tried several times. To their credit, they at least noticed the color was drying wrong. But after enough "close enough" attempts to make me question my sanity and my walls, I finally went to the Sherwin-Williams on King Street. That's where I met a younger Polynesian guy with an incredible afro and the energy level of someone who actually enjoys helping people, which frankly feels rare these days. This guy spent OVER TWO HOURS trying to get the match correct. Testing, adjusting, remixing, checking the dry-down, trying again. At one point he literally told me, "I'm still not happy with it, give me a little more time." Which is exactly what you want to hear from someone matching paint, and not from your surgeon or airline pilot. The best part is I wasn't even buying some massive contractor order. I needed ONE quart. One. Tiny. Quart. And he still treated it like a mission of national importance. Eventually, he nailed it. But honestly, the thing that stood out most wasn't just the paint match. It was the attitude. The guy was smiling the entire time. Super upbeat, super patient, never once acted annoyed. And weirdly enough, everyone else there seemed genuinely cheerful too. Management included. The whole store felt relaxed and positive, which was especially noticeable after dealing with the emotional support zombies at their auto paint counterpart store recently. Sherwin-Williams (on King Street), seriously: you've got a keeper. Give that guy a raise, a promotion, or at minimum his own reserved parking spot. Excellent service. Excellent effort. And finally, walls that don't look like they were patched using leftovers from three different dimensions. read more

POOR SERVICE. I had bought paint for my classroom and even mentioned that this was for the school I work for (it even says it on the receipt.) The school decided to go with another option. When I went to return the paint, with my receipt, I was told that one month had passed and I couldn't return the unopened product. I then asked if I could at least receive store credit and was denied as well. I was blatantly told to try to sell it online. Really?? Thank you for being such a wonderful business motivating us teachers to improve our classrooms. I will tell all my colleagues to think twice before setting foot in your store! Poor customer service!!! Went in to pick up paint, they only had 2 of the 4 paints that we wanted. They said they would call when the paint was ready to pick up. No call for 2 weeks, my wife goes in today to check on our order and they told us we were given all 4 gallons!! They said we would have to come back to speak to the manager tomorrow. Went there to get a specific color I want (more to like creamy purple mixing with some green) the sample color dot on top of the lid shows straight up gray. I double checked it if thats the right color I want with the sale person and he said yes, it's just because it's not dry yet. So I assume maybe that's just the process how it works. I got home and painted a small area and let it sat for a good 24hrs and it is gray. Note: no returns on custom colors and $17.45 a qt read more

This store is very small and parking can be limited since they only have about 6 - 8 parking stalls. Try not to go first thing in the morning if you can help it- many contractors are there picking up what they need for the day. Even though it is not a large location - the staff there are very knowledgeable and friendly. I honestly would not have been able to figure my way around the maze of colors they have without them! They take the time to explain types of paints that will fit your needs and price, as well as colors. My only problem is I spend too much there when I go - :) I also appreciate their app which is great to mix and match colors and get their latest sale information from. Or you can sign up and give them your email address to get notifications of in store specials. It seems silly, but paint and supplies are expensive so when you can save 40% off you have to! The other benefit of being a customer there is you are put into their system so every order of paint that you make is remembered. So if you forget the name of a certain paint - no problem they can look that up for you! If you have a paint job that needs to be done - go there and check out the selection! This is where the professionals go if they have a choice in paint. At least this is the place my painting contractor told me to pick up paint when I had our place redone. I listened and got all my paint from here and nearly five years later, the paint job has stood the test of time. I've never had any uneven coloring or distortion, which some of my friends have experienced with Behr paint and others. I love the great selection of paint supplies. I also like that they do keep records of your previous purchases in case you forget the color you picked up and need a bucket for touch ups. Finally, there's "generally" someone on staff who can provide some advice. Recently, I decided to take on a DIY project redecorating (aka repainting) a room. For a couple of minutes I was a little concerned about the service because a sales person was a little light on training. I came in with room dimensions asking how much paint to get. The sales person hesitated and we bumbled through a couple of math equations until fortune emerged and someone else stepped forward to help me navigate this part. I picked up a new shade of pale and some painting supplies and because of the quality of this product, have every confidence the DIY effort will turn out well. read more

Staff seemed pretty good. Manager Mason quoted me a price, rushed along the order and after left the store saw it was 12% higher on base price?? He had also said he was giving me a deal on another paint which found much lower at regular price at City Mill. Would try to work with another staff person who looked like they were handling customers well. And would double check the prices. I painted my house last year and used Sherwin-Williams for all my paint and supplies. I believe I spent over $800 with them. I also purchased touch up paint (new cans) for future work should I need it. While the paint was never used the can lid rusted away even though it was stored in my garage. I figured Sherwin-Williams-Williams would mix me a new one gallon can; especially after spending over $800 in a prior purchase...WRONG!!! They would only gladly sell me a other can.
