After reading tips on Yelp for this place I called first to make sure I would get help from Lori, the point person for a contractor I had just met at my home. Must tell you that if you use the Yelp app it will take you to a shared business. Stay on Bougainville til you see the Super Store sign out of your peripheral vision on your left and proceed up the ramp as they are on the 2nd floor. Courteously greeted at their check in desk and the gentleman went to call Lori who was with a customer. After a friendly wave she approached me with hi Gail then started showing me several product lines. If you want an in stock item it is labeled with a yellow sticker. My tip: be flexible in your choice in case your dream sample does not have 1000 square feet and you need everything pronto working with 3 companies- demolition, installer and supplier. I couldn't believe my ears and eyes that hubs went with one of three choices as he got lost and I had time to browse and narrow down his options to make the decision process faster. Gave Lori a half down deposit to hold my supplies. I was relieved and happy that LaurIe communicated with Shannon right then and there. TERMITES!!!! I would like to give this more stars because I felt that their customer service was good. But in the end, the cabinets we ordered for both our upstairs and downstairs kitchens did not only arrive damaged, but now we have to get our newly renovated house termite tented because the cabinets brought termites to our house. We let Prosource know so that they could be careful and aware for future customers but we were told they were not aware termites were a problem. Both our upstairs and downstairs kitchens (blend of mantra and kemper) both came in separate shipments a month apart and they all had termites. This was confirmed by two separate pest companies that evaluated our house that the source was the cabinets. The tenting cost almost as much as the cabinets, so be aware of this if ordering cabinets here!!! read more

My contractor referred me to ProSource of Honolulu. I met with Jennifer Ihara, a sales associate. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. I told her that I was looking for very soft carpet for my home and brought in a sample of my existing carpet. We couldn't find an exact match but there were two samples that were very close. We went over other flooring options but I was pretty happy with carpet. I didn't know exactly how much I needed so we did a rough estimate of 1000 square feet and I put down a $5,000 deposit on my credit card. Jenn was fantastic in following up on the progress of my home renovation as to when I might be needing the thousand square feet of carpet and padding. Unfortunately, my contractor talk me out of carpet and into tiling my entire place. I put a call in to Jenn to cancel the order and she was very prompt to process a refund. If I'm ever in the need for any flooring, I will definitely check out ProSource Hawaii and see Jenn again. Definitely recommended. read more

My Dad's a General Contractor so had some business to do here. Fun Father-Daughter Outings! The parking is up a steep ramp so drive slow. I was happy to use Waze App. As I was strolling through the kitchen & bathroom showrooms, I met Acct. Manager Lisa A. she was helping other clients and was very nice when we spoke at her desk. Bought some flooring and kitchen things a few years ago. The staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful and we asked for high quality flooring. However, the flooring started staining and coming apart in a few places. They inspected and blamed it on the installers and environmental factors and took no responsibility. Went here again after a few years, as recommended by GC to select flooring for a couple rooms. Met with his sales person. Erica who showed me the basics, and I selected the flooring. My contractor schedule was pretty full so he couldn't get to it so Erica recommended one of her guys to come check it out. He came up with a estimate of materials needed. He was very unresponsive and took a week for initial estimate. Did not respond to email or phone calls. Called Erica she called him and he said oh yeah I'll get you that new estimate by tonight never did. So the order was based on his estimate which turned out to be inaccurate. Had another installer come double check all the measurements and he came up with a whole different estimate which ended up being a lot closer. So call Erica to cancel some of the things we don't need based on her guys faulty estimate. And got a talking point answer about the cancellation policy even though the order was just put in a day or two before and needed to cancel two unneeded trim pieces that her guy said was needed. Only after I contacted her to see if the material was in after a few weeks was I told it was there in the warehouse. Warehouse staff was great picked everything up. Ended up needing a special reverse reducer piece that the floor manufacturer advertises on their website. Called Erica and asked her to look into seeing if there was one in stock or if she could order one. She said she would check the next morning when she got to work and would give me a call. No call. Given the flooring is available, the other outlets, including Lowe's, and Home Depot would not recommend ProSource as their preferred installers are not exactly the best based on my experience, nor do you get a response when you need something other than your original order. read more

What a big disappointment. We are doing renovations to a bathroom at home and after someone recommended us to ProSource, we decided to go with them for our cabinets. FAIL. The model cabinets on display in their showroom looked really nice and durable. Rule number one when you are shopping for cabinets for your expensive renovations, check the workmanship AND construction! The cabinets are assembled together with very cheap materials and are in no way "ready to install". They are so poorly constructed that our contractor had the hardest time aligning them during installation . We should have done our homework first, so it's our fault too. Poor craftsmanship and quality. On top of that, when the cabinet and doors were delivered, several components were damaged and some were missing. I'm a reasonable person and I do understand that stuff like this happens, but if you're spending a lot of money for the products, should the business send stuff out that is OBVIOUSLY damaged? One of the pieces was boxed in a long packaging and it was broken in three places! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it... Their customer service tries to help somewhat, but not enough. They keep going back and forth with other people in sales which to me is unacceptable. After paying so much for a supposedly quality product, I give up. It's not worth getting upset over, but it is important that I alert all of my friends who are thinking of purchasing cabinets, etc. from them. Save yourself the grief and either have it custom made or go somewhere else and make sure you do your homework first! No service is the worst kind of service. Initial contact with my rep was fine, and I got an estimate from her via email, which also said I should feel free to email back if I had any questions. lol. No reply to my email. No reply to my voice mail. Could not even manage to make another in-person appointment. Was the cost of my project too cheap for her to bother? I guess I will never, ever know. I did stop by to make sure the building hadn't exploded or burned down, and yep everyone is still alive (and my rep was meeting with another client). I wasted maybe two weeks on that. Eventually went to Wayne's Flooring instead and got a cheaper price, so I guess they earned one star by not even letting me attempt to spend money here. read more

I would have given them a zero if I could but I had to give them a star. Erica is a liar. She over delivers and under promise. She tells you one thing to get the sale and then do something completely different. We have a disabled person in our home, we had a certain date to move. I'm making my home Ada compliant for this person. We know that move in dates are tentative. However, when you keep moving the move in date because you lied and can't supply what we need, also we are stuck with them. We can't go anywhere else for what we need. ProSource is the only company on island that has our particular items. We need to retrain the younger people on how to be a good sales person not a shady one. Was unsure about this place at first since the account manager, Lisa, was in training and I was told to just go look around. Didn't know how all the different samples compared (beyond what was listed on their labels). In a short time, Lisa came out of her training to assist me. She helped me to explain the differences in the products and provided suggestions. She said she could spend more time to price everything out after her training. I appreciated the time she spent so my visit wasn't a waste of time. As I continued to look over her suggestions, I had more questions. Travis (I think another account manager?) offered to help. He mentioned Lisa had helped one of his customers yesterday while he was in training. That's the kind of teamwork that makes a business work! Kudos to these two individuals! Totally two thumbs up! The customer service we received was amazing! Kudos to Lisa. ProSource has such a great selection it was really hard choosing which floor color we liked the most and spent at least three hours in the store. On top of this we're doing a lot of work ourselves, so we had a lot of first-timer questions. Lisa was patient the whole time and was extremely effecient in processing our order and providing recommendations. The customer experience she provided was defintely 5 stars! One small con (though it's totally expected and is a reality at every flooring store) is that some of the floor choices we liked can take several weeks to months to be delivered. read more

We were unfortunately stuck with a bad sales rep named Vinda. When we entered the showroom, she was already assisting my mom. I wasn't sure if she already worked with my mom in the past but her service was a bit relaxed. To me, it was a red flag but I didn't think much of it. I would ask what one carpet color is (and she made me bend down to look at it myself). I didn't expect her to know all the answers but at least try a bit harder to care. Eventually, we ordered the carpet and a few weeks later it arrived but it arrived with a shortage (as far as we know, it wasn't our fault). The problem with that was, she realized we were short and did not reorder before going on her vacation. We were left in the dark for days not knowing what was going on. When she finally returned from her trip, I called her and she was a bit frazzled. She didn't answer my mothers call so when I called, she said she was trying to get the facts together before calling. The main fact was she did not fix the mistake before her trip which pushed everything back for us. In the end, we didn't get the entire new piece to replace the mistake. Instead, we got just the missing piece (which should be arriving tomorrow). Hopefully it won't be too obvious. Side note, Vinda would make comments when we were showing how disappointed we were. She shouldn't be working with customers as she is really bad at mending things. read more

I had both my residence and my rental condo flooring replaced with same brand luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and underlayment (sound insulation) supplied by Prosource. We had an issue with the tile. The LVT was a 1st generation tile lock system that was not working properly with the recommended underlayment. In addition the 1st generation tile was coincidentally being discontinued (unbeknownst to us) after we were well underway in installing LVT. We subsequently had residence redone with the 2nd generation locking feature and a different (higher density) underlayment and this working rather well. However, we still had issue(s) with getting the rental condo fix completed. Long story / short, Aaron Okamoto, Sales Manager stepped in when things were getting no where and worked things out. We are now on the right path of getting rental unit fixed. My recommendation is to give ProSource a look. Overall you can run around and get overwhelmed. Hence, I would recommend that you check out what ProSource has as a "one stop" shop to address our flooring needs. By the way, in addition to the LVT, we had selected porcelain tiles for our lanais from ProSource. Note: I will be updating rating after we have the rental fix complete. This will take approximately 8 - 10 weeks since LVT has to be brought in. Please keep in mind that this is not a criticism on ProSource. As you will find that during a renovation process there will be many occasions that you will need to review, select and order what you want. What you want may not be locally available, however you can go with an alternative but remember you will live with what you choose. My advice....plan ahead, make informed decisions and allow for cushion to get things done. Don't get upset if things get a bit chaotic or there is an issue. Work on a resolution and count on folks doing what's right. If that doesn't work, you have options to file a legitimate complaint. In addition, you need to separate product from contractor(s) and address accordingly, unless the contractor falls under the umbrella of the supplier you had select and then your recourse will be with supplier. There is a lot to be cognizant about during a renovation process. read more

We experienced some of the worst customer service from ProSource. We ordered flooring material from them because they guaranteed that it would get delivered in 2-3 weeks. After waiting two weeks I reached out to our account manager to see if our shipment had been delivered. She told us she did not know the status and instructed us to wait for further updates. The only thing she could tell us was that it will get here before the end of the month which was another two weeks of waiting. What was very frustrating for us was she only responded after we contacted her for any updates. Another week passed by without any updates, so I again reached out to her. We were told that the flooring material was ready to be shipped from the mainland and would take another 3 weeks by cargo. We were then told to pay extra to get them delivered to us sooner via next day air or 2nd day air freight if we wanted. We shared our confusion about why we should pay this extra shipping cost when they should be responsible for getting the shipment delivered within their promised time frame. Then she wanted to negotiate and asked us how much are we willing to pay (so she can cover the rest) which we thought was very unprofessional. After a few days, she confirmed the 2nd day air freight was ordered, but we found out that this was all a lie. When I emailed to follow up on the 2nd day air shipping, she was not being transparent. We were never given the shipping tracking number even though we repeatedly asked for it. Then a week after we were told the material was shipped out via 2nd day air, she told us that the material was on backorder and might arrive two weeks later (when the shipment was estimated to arrive if it was shipped via cargo ship). We were then told the next day that the shipment is on its way to California via truck. We are still so confused about why we were given inconsistent information throughout this whole process. I do not trust ProSource. We have experienced some of the worst customer service, misleading time estimates, deceiving information, and lack of communication. Overall, ProSource has been a disappointment. read more

Be very careful of the manager at this Prosource, name Cynthia Cho. My builder/contractor referred me to her. I made an appointment and met with her the first time to specifically discuss kitchen cabinets. Cynthia showed me the whole store, which was fine, and when I returned home, I looked at a catalog from the store, and I emailed her the swatches of cabinet finishes that I am interested to receive. Ever since I gave her the swatches via email, she said she will let me know about a shower glass unit I inquired about, then I have not heard from her since. There was a couple of times when she responded via email telling me that she could not respond any sooner because of meetings here and there. I waited for any response in regards to my questions/inquiry, and I did not hear from her. I emailed her this weekend asking if she can refer me to another staff in the store whom I can work with closely and also inquired on when should I expect the swatches, no response. What a passive-aggressive woman! I assume she would be professional and refer me to another staff if she is too busy (or too good) to work with me. What a no-class unprofessional way to handle business. Anyway, I asked my interior designer about Cynthia, my interior designer confirmed she has always been responsive to her. Obviously, Cynthia chooses the person she would like to work with and does not even think about the Prosource store itself, and the business it generates from clients like me. If you can work with another staff at Prosource and avoid the store manager Cynthia, I think that is the best way to go. All of the details, timing and various coordination with subcontractors can make for an unpleasant experience. I am so grateful to Vinda and Lori (Shimabukuro) at ProSource who provided excellent customer service and guided me every step of the way with my carpet needs. With so many choices and varieties of carpets Vinda helped me narrow down an option that met my budget as well as fit my design needs. My service rep Brett was a nightmare. Sold me flooring by showing me a single plank and not mentioning that it was one of 6 different ones. We bought 1300 sq ft of it only to lay it out and find out there were variations in the color of the planks. Went back to the showroom, looked at the same plank again, flipped the board over only to see there are photos of the flooring and the variation of color, Brett said he wasn't aware of it... ended up ordering a different flooring with the condition that we would get credited, spent another $10,000+ . Also his math is horrible so we got 3 different calls and charges because he kept miscalculating or forgetting a charge... weeks go by, many calls and voicemails left, no return. Bro where's my money.. all I see on my credit card are charges and where are my invoices? After much harrassing I see finally a couple refunds come through but Brett is MIA at breaking down what he charged and what he refunded. Shady. Also won't refund me for any of the flooring that we threw out boxes for, pretty sure it's your fault that you sold us product with false advertisement.. Finally call and talk to someone else who says the manager Rocky will give me a call to sort things out . Hey Rocky, still haven't heard from you. Hire some people who actually have product knowledge, can calculate the cost of what you're selling, and God forbid have some customer service skills. Ps. Give me back my money you owe! read more
