Everything else was excellent, especially the staff - the nurse Miguel and especially the doctor - Kori N Cossey. Informative, capable, personable. So, save the initial wait everything was excellent.

My wife (who's also a nurse at a different Swedish facility) asked my nurse to call pharmacy and expedite verifying my pain meds but the nurse sarcastically responded "Congratulations, you're a nurse!" Refusing to call pharmacy, and said "We can all hear him screaming..trust me". There were three nurses sitting at the nurses station periodically giggling and looking at their phones when my wife made the request. However the doctor- Casey M Krebs was by far the worst part of my visit. She seemed incapable of creating a care plan and didn't show any urgency. She seemed more focused on pacifying us for the moment and quickly leaving the room than actually helping us understand our options or initiating the process of me transferring to a hospital with urology. We were still asking her questions as she was trying to close the door and leave. It was obvious she did not like it when my wife asked any questions on my behalf, and completely disregarded her concern that the CT results showed severe hydronephrosis. The doctor said "That is not the focus. Im not concerned about his hydronephrosis, Im concerned about his kidney stones." I got such poor care that I decided to leave AMA while still in severe pain and drive to Swedish Edmonds, which was the best decision I made that day. To be honest I'm not sure the staff at Mill Creek even knew the process of transferring me, let alone doing it quickly. Once I arrived at Edmonds they took my case seriously from the start, scheduling me for emergency surgery the next day to remove the obstructive stone. My pain was well managed and my whole care team was incredibly skilled and empathetic. I am still completely disheartened with my experience at Mill Creek and would advise ANYONE considering it to go anywhere else.

They are so kind to my children, every time we've experienced some life-calamity. Thank you for always providing us with accurate diagnoses, and healing results. Today my daughter and I came in with a cough that's been lingering for a month and I explained to the doctor for the situation and he lectured me for not coming to the doctor sooner. I told him my daughter did come in and finish her meds and we were giving it time to see if she felt better. He literally spent more time telling me and lecturing my 11 year old daughter to go to the doctor. I at one point got stern with him and said "Well we're here now." Like it was ridiculous to the point when he left the room my daughter looked at me and gave me huge eyes like what was that about. I'm not exaggerating when I say he spent more time telling me there's doctors in Arizona and saying I should have came back sooner then he did on actually checking us out. Tom was very unprofessional. He, at the end, apologized for being "antagonistic" towards us and I wanted to tell him not to be sorry but to choose a better career path. Tom did not strike me as anyone who should even work in the medical field. Not empathetic, let alone professional. If I was his PIC I'd want to know my staff was talking to and treating patients that way, that's why I'm writing.

My expectations were low based on past experience and hearing story after story after story of poor treatment from medical professionals regarding this disease, but I was desperate and getting so sick. I saw a Bridget Noorishad who was a god send in my life at that moment. Due to lack of funding for date, most doctors are misinformed and cling to false beliefs about the disease to misdiagnose patients. It's a problem that leads to death unfortunately. Bridget wasn't familiar with this issue (most aren't) and held some common misbeliefs as do almost all medial professionals with the exception of ER doctors for some reason they seem to know it more. But what was amazing about Bridget is that she listened to what I had to say and I could tell she genuinely cared (such a relief and so refreshing given my expectations and experience dealing with this). She was skeptical at first as she should be, but she did the right thing and I don't think she knows how grateful I was! She said okay can you give me a minute and she left the room for awhile to go investigate and get to the truth. She humbled herself and did what all doctors should do in this situation. After all, they can't know everything. She took the time and care to figure it out and returned with honestly the best possible treatment plan she could have. After being misdiagnosed for well over a year thanks to false outdated info and doctors who cling to it, this was EXACTLY what I needed in that moment. I couldn't be happier with the care I received here and while treatment was less than effecthve that was not her fault. It was the right treatment just too late and I went too long with insufficient treatment. It's complicated but I just want to say I 100% recommend this walk in. The care FAR exceeded all others I've visited in the area. Thank you for taking me seriously....all too often that's not the case with this issue and you have NO IDEA just how much I needed that! Edit Added:...Oh and I should add that she was even willing to go above and beyond and offered to stay late so my boyfriend could stop by on his way home and talk to her. She isn't a family therapist (or at least not to my knowledge) and definitely did not have to do that, but thank god there are actually good people on the world who understand the importance of their profession and take it so seriously! I'm telling you it's extremely rare to see a medical professional who is as dedicated
