I wish you can rate it a zero!! Bought a car on December 16. 2021 on the Allstate Car buying program, coolant was at the minimum level, so I asked them to top it off before purchasing the car. When I inspected the car, Shield Auto Sales denied the low coolant level and we pressed him to check it. He called his "mechanic" and the mechanic confirmed the low levels. He filled it up when we got out to the car to take it home. This "mechanic" spilled it when using a funnel and then asked the seller if he should put more in after I said that its now above the max level. He wanted to put more after already overfilling it. Three weeks later January 2, 2022 and less than 800 miles later, I turned on the car and it would shut down by itself automatically. I tried it 3 times and the 4th time it stayed on. I popped the hood and noticed that the coolant levels were way below the minimum and Shield Auto Sales said it was normal. And he will schedule an appointment with his "mechanic" because the warranty only states that his "mechanic must be used". I asked him when, where, and who am I taking the car to and all he answers, "99 percent sure you'll be able to drop it off on Thursday." I asked him repeatedly what time, and where and who to which he refuses to answer! From Monday - Wednesday I am still asking him who his mechanic is, where am I taking it on Thursday, and what time and no answer. At this point you know he does not have a certified mechanic (obviously from the coolant debacle), he doesn't honor his warranty, and conducts bad business. How hard is it to call your "mechanic" up and set up a date, time and place? I called Allstate and the lady confirms that they go through Allstate's certification training to certify their dealership to sell on the platform. Which seems like he passed the test and threw the law and any training out the door and scams people. Shield Auto Sales is a horrible dealership and Allstate's bar buying program can't be trusted to be confidence in your purchase. My step son purchased a 2005 Jaguar XJ in June of 2021 from Shield Auto Sales Inc. at their 13106 Paxton Street location in Pacoima, CA 91331. He has only the California DMV Vehicle Transfer and Reassignment Form. He never received the title from the dealer, even though they "claim" they mailed it to him. They won't return calls. He cannot register the car without the title, so it sits in his driveway with temporary plates and is un-drivable until he gets a replacement title. This dealer has failed to assist him. I will consider changing this review if the dealer suddenly finds their care for their customers and becomes helpful to our cause. Otherwise, I am far from impressed with their lack of care for my kid and their lack of professionalism more generally. read more

Found the almost perfect car on CarGurus so requested information. That was at 10:30am. Received the auto reply saying someone would contact me. Didn't hear anything so figured I'd drive from Hollywood to drive it home today. When I arrived around 3, there were about 5 men standing around, no one approached or asked if I needed help. So I walk inside the office - a gentleman is sitting behind the desk, a man is standing near him and a young lady is on her phone. The man sitting asks if he could help me, I responded that I wanted to see about a car I found. He so bluntly says "It's sold already." One of the men outside walks up. I said I contacted you, I emailed. He laughs and says "Yeah, I didn't respond because it's gone". The guy speaks to him in Farsi and the one I was talking to says "but we will get more in soon." Complete waste of time coming here. The car that I looked at belongs in a salvage yard. The listing described the vehicle as being in excellent condition but the car was idling hard, the accelerator got stuck during the test drive, the check oil light came on and there wasn't a body panel on the vehicle that didn't have damage. I almost couldn't believe what I saw when I arrived just a few minutes early to the appointment; a man exited the vehicle with a code reader...they had reset the codes on the car prior to the test drive. read more

I went to buy a car that I saw from the internet, when I got to the site I was greeted by a person, I must never use a mask at any time, neither he nor the other sales person who was there. I was interested in a BMW that I saw on the internet, the photos there lied, the car was deteriorated, the upholstery, broken on many sides and especially the super dirty car and it smelled of strong urine! We are in the middle of a global pandemic and they do not use a mask to serve customers, they sell you cars at higher prices, urinated and full of animal heces. read more

A wanted to test drive one of their cars, so I called them twice the week before, asking when they open on Saturdays. Both times, they say 11am (though it says 10am on their website). I get there at 11:30am and the place is closed. Eventually, they casually show up at 12, don't even introduce themselves or approach me. When they show me the car, it's covered in dust and has wires hanging out of it. I had to wait for them to wash it and put plates on it. When I told them I plan to take it on the freeway for the test drive, the guy said it doesn't have enough gas in it, so I had to wait even longer so he could take it to a gas station and fill it up. They seemed to have an extremely laissez-faire attitude about selling cars, and it was an incredibly unprofessional and unpleasant experience. My son purchased an Outback from this dealership. It needed a new ignition coil so we left the car to have the work completed. The owners loaned us a car (free of charge) for 4 days while the work was completed. It turned out that more than one part needed to be replaced and they also did this additional work free of charge. Finally, the gave my son a 30 day warranty (again free of charge) in case there are any additional problems. Friendly and professional dealership with strong customer service. read more

I don't know if the "real" management left on vacation and just hired their gardener to run the place OR WHAT! This was without a doubt the WORST used car "dealership" experience I've ever had. I actually kind of liked this one 2003 Jeep Liberty they had on their lot It had a couple dings, no biggy. And only 111,000 miles! One of the power windows didn't work. I figured the tires, which were covered in cracks and craze marks, could be easily replaced. And the price was right! Famous last words. So I made an appointment to come back and drive it to my favorite mechanic for a once over before buying. Long story short, they had to jump start it TWICE to keep it running, but assured me--when I complained about getting stranded, that it would be "no problem." So off I went and all of 10 minutes later, the engine just died. In the center lane of Roscoe Blvd, under the 405 freeway, at rush hour! No power. Not even for the hazard flashers. You talk about a PIG F*CK! I was afraid I'd get shot, holding up 3 lanes of traffic, waiting a half hour for a tow truck. Talk about ruining your day? Risking your life? Horns honking, fingers waving? But here's the icing on the cake: When the tow truck hauled me and their piece of junk back to the Pacoima, the "salesman" admitted he KNEW the alternator was bad! Little late to mention it then maybe? Bottom line: DO NOT expect to find a car that's safe to drive at this place--even for a few miles. If it was a mistake? OK. Forgivable. But KNOWING the car wouldn't run, and sending a customer out with it anyway? There ought to be a law! (And there probably is, but just...STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, for SURE!) read more

Bought my 07 Land Rover exactly a year ago. They sold me a solid car. Yes there's a stupid amount of money I need to put into the car but not because of anything shield sold me, just because it's an old Land Rover. The only issue was the tires were really messed up which cost me $700 which I'm sure I could have been better about negotiating but before I purchased the car I took it to a random mechanic near shield auto sales to check it out and everything was in great standing. So, I bought the car in May 2019 and in September 2019 the check engine light came on AND the seatbelt restraint system. I took it to my mechanic, who informed me that the car has NO AIRBAG on the driver's side! It appears that the car was in an accident (not shown in the Carfax report) and the previous owner did not go through a reputable repair shop to have it fixed. The check engine light was due to an oil leak that required quite a bit of repair work. Then to top it off, the brakes were shot as well as the rear rotors and the brake shoes! This all came with a hefty price tag of $1500.00!! Buyer beware! They are nice, but hide things about the cars. read more

Arman is very nice in the beginning, but this is a ploy! They do not disclose a lot of things about the car and are only helpful the first 48 hours so that you do not return the car. After I bought the car I brought it in for inspection and found out it was missing many parts inside such as a carbon air filter. The windshield wipers didnt even belong to my car. My car also needed new tires and a new battery. He refused to replace my battery until the car actually died, which was against the advice of the mechanic. It has been well over a month since I bought the car and I still did not receive the papers from the DMV that he said would only take 15 days! He even lied about the warranty from the dealership! We bought the car for over $4000.00 They sold us a car has some broken lights, stereo system, switches and they promised they will fix it. But then they told us to go buy the parts ???? They send us a registration which we paid for and for some reason the registration is only for 6 months. Then 2 months less than 400 miles later, the car start having problems, we bring it to his mechanic and they want $2300.00 to rebuilt the engine. We brought it back to him, he said he would buy it back for $2000.00 but then he changed his mind and said the car is not worth $2000.00. So we are stuck with a car or pay $2300.00 more for a piece of SH*T The kicker is, he said the only thing he will do is sell the car in the lot..... WTF !! Selling this to someone else??? A lot of things weren't disclosed about the car and they informed me that they purchased and installed new shockers on the car which after a visit to a local Firestone revealed they were the cars originals and not new as they said. After they said they put the new shocks on they then asked us to pay for it when they never replaced them at all. And they were asking us 300 dollars. Also they informed me I would be receiving a new key for my car- being that they gave me a key with no buttons and after multiple phone calls inquiring about when I would receive the key (over a period of a few weeks) they told they had forgotten about it and would get to it although I have still yet to hear from them. It has now been over a month. It was also not disclosed that my car window was not continuously functioning and they informed me they had fixed my glove compartment that kept falling down yet when I drove off the door to it kept opening revealing it had been scrappily taped together poorly with Velcro - and unevenly. Additionally they told me that they fixed my rear brake light-which they didn't- Costing my family a few hundred dollars with the extra problem that only a week after purchasing my car the timing belt completely deteriorated/snapped. There was also a butter knife left in the back of My trunk and a screwdriver in the engine. If it had fallen it could have caused serious damage. Overall I would not recommend this place. read more

They were willing to let me take the car to a mechanic of my choosing to check the car out and were very cooperative in financing. Considering my credit isn't the best I was expecting a much higher rate so was surprised to find an lighter apr than expected. Only reason I have rated four stars rather than five was the fact that I was surprised to find that bartering was off the table. I've never been to an auto sales shop that stuck so rigidly to the sticker price. read more

I was sold a car here in the beginning of December, and before purchasing, I was told the vehicle had been taken through a mechanic it had been put up for sale. It was only after I had brought the car home when I realized the oil hadn't been changed for about 6 months, so I took a look under the hood and checked the oil. It was then that I realized the coolant reserve was filled with a thick black sludge, therefore, I took it to a mechanic to have it flushed and replaced. As it turns out, the coolant tank had decent-sized cracks in it. Something a mechanic would've noticed had the car actually been checked out. Fast forward to mid January, and the transmission blows out on me. It is an internal issue meaning it is a very expensive fix. It is a used car, yes, but the place I took it to, AAMCO, says it's very unusual for a transition to blow the way it did with the amount of miles it's been driven. This company will lie to you the same way they lied to me in order to turn a quick profit. Do not waste your money here. read more
