I'd begin using Joe and Shift Management about 12 years ago. somebody told me about them and everything they told me was true. my main contact has been Joe. Joe is always treating me extremely good. Actually makes me feel like family. every vehicle he has done has not had a transmission problem again. I have used many of transmission shops over the years. Be fore Shift management. I was very disappointed with other shops I'd used over the years because the transmissions would fail right after the warranty ended. making me feel like I failed my customers. Took my car to them in beginning of May of 2022 for a transmission issue. I was told they were busy but could help me and I told them that was ok for them to get to it as quickly as they could. I dropped my car off to them myself in good shape and everything in working order aside from the transmission issue. I was updated that they thought it was a mechanism in the transmission but not the actual transmission gone so I proceeded with repairs. I was fine with my quote. The first week of June I was told it was ready to be picked up and that they did a 5 mile test drive without issue. I promptly picked up my car, paid in full and headed home with a care full of kids and within minutes knew something was not quite right. I called them and was advised to keep an eye on it and bring it back in if it persisted. My transmission totally went out on that less than 4 mile drive home. I had to have it towed back to their shop after breaking down on the said of the road. I was not too upset as they stated it could be the fix and could not be. I told them just fix the transmission so I can get it back on the road. Second week of July I get a text that it was rebuilt but "still had an issue". OK...I asked them to please just fix it. Late July I get the call that the care is good to go 100%, was test driven on freeway and all. I paid my bill in full and left their business happy to have my car back just to run out of cold air in my AC on that less than 4 mile drive home. So I call and ask if they manipulated lines to exchange the transmission and if maybe I just need it recharged. They immediately denied ever touching the AC lines but refused to tell me how they worked on the transmission without moving those lines around. I am in Nursing school and had just started at the time this happened and am broke..I spent my savings fixing the transmission so that I could just get to school once summer was over. I was referred to Swims auto/towing by the owner of shift management. Absolutely not!! I found that my system would not hold a suction and would not retain freon. I had to deal with no AC for months as I couldn't afford more repairs on my car. This summer I was finally able to afford the diagnostic and repairs and was not shocked to be told that my AC lines had been routed incorrectly and that the radiator support which caused a hole in my AC line and essentially left it non-operable. So I paid 4k+ for my transmission and was left with another repair due to their negligence. I know mistakes happen and I can appreciate that when they are recognized and corrected, BUT not when they are left unfixed, denied and then not taken responsibility for. This affected me and my kids as I drive them around in this car and summers are very hot. I am working hard to better our lives and be more stable places like this prey on women in my opinion, this repair also took away from something else for my family as I had to pay another 600.00 to repair the botched AC system. Do the right thing and honor your work and have some integrity sincerely a struggling college student with three kids to feed whom you took advantage of. If you were a corporation I would have already been taken care of but because you are family owned you chose to ignore me and that is bad business. You owe me $644.49 as far as I'm concerned. My AC system was not damaged when I brought my car to your establishment and was also still working the first time I picked my car up from you but not the second time around. Do better!! read more

I brought my car into the shop to have the transmission rebuilt. I spoke to Joe over the phone who quoted me $4,140.41 for the repair, and I accepted that charge on August 26th 2020. I had had my car towed to their shop, and I was informed that the shop was at least one week behind and that it will be a small delay. Joe kept in touch by texting me and calling me, but each time we had conversations it was only to notify me that they are behind and delayed. I never received my car back until September 28th, after Joe called me and told me to come pick it up he stated that it had a great test drive and it's ready! I drove the car for approximately seven days in the car started doing the exact same thing that prompted me to bring it in for repairs. I called shift management and Joe told me to bring the car in and they will look at it he didn't even offer me a tow back to their shop, I was totally broke down on the street. I did purchase a warranty which was for 18,000 MI or 18 months whichever come first. Joe had informed me that the problem was with the drive and pulley system. He says that the mechanic fixed that but it was defective. I don't think it was ever repaired, a problem that should have been fixed the first time that they neglected to do which brought me back to them. Joe also stated that when you change a transmission in a Nissan vehicle, it has to go back to the dealer to be reflashed and reprogrammed to manufacturer specs and that was not done at the time of the first repair. The shop has now had my car since October 6th for the second term. I was told that the car was being reflashed with the dealer Friday Oct. 16th and if that problem does not fix the issue then he will ask Nissan Dealership what he needs to do to fix it and he'll go from there which doesn't leave me feeling confident in Shift Management's repair work. I've had to pay out of pocket for rental cars for the past two months and I am financially injured by this major delay in a car repair that should have only took up and to at least a week. This particular cars transmission labor service usually takes about 13 hours. Fact, Joe at Shift Management's just texted me today Oct. 19th and informed me that Nissan told him the the transmission has low pressure and that the valve needs to be replaced. Joe at Shift Management's swears he ordered and repaired that part, but it was defective. So my car will be delayed further this is very upsetting and I don't have trust in this shop. read more

My transmission went out on a Thursday morning, I took it to Shift Management on Thursday afternoon and got a finished estimate for a rebuild that was below the starting price at AAMCO. They said they would have my truck ready by the following Wednesday afternoon and, good to their word, it was ready at the appointed time. I have been driving it for over a month now without incident. I can't speak to any other reviewers, but I can say that my experience with them was very positive. They were professional, prompt, stayed on schedule, and the final cost was what they quoted. I can't ask for any better than that. thanks guys for putting me back on the road. read more

Supposedly they have it fixed then oops the same problem happens On thanksgiving we picked it up fixed but again it left us at my in-laws house... this time it had to be towed!! Just left this shop after being referred there for a transmission problem. Shop is clean and everybody I spoke with was very friendly. Within a few minutes of being there they were already taking my truck out for a test drive to diagnose the problem. They quickly determined that the issue was just a damaged vacuum hose and had me fixed up and on my way in no time. I will definitely be back here for any issues that come up in the future. read more

Had my transmission rebuilt for my rat rod, it immediately failed. Called them up and they asked me to bring the car in this time so he could see it in the vehicle. After 3 weeks of dodging my calls, and lame excuses they finally got it done. I went to get it and had a $400 bill, but in all fairness they did fix a coolant leak for me also. I picked it up and the transmission felt pretty. Good until on the way home the radiator fell into the motor. After examining the radiator there were 8 fasteners not installed. now the design of my rat rod requires you to remove. Shroud etc to add coolant. This is why all the fasteners were missing. I called them up and told them what happened and he said we never put coolant in it. I said but you fixed the coolant leak and he says yeah but we ran out of coolant so didn't put any in! Are you kidding me? This is beyond the beyond so we will see how it plays out but I'm not going away quietly, I hope if you read this I save you some headache, and you find someplace reputable because this is not it! read more
