Hand washing the car is great. If I come back here I just gonna have them to wash outside of the car because there wasn't much difference when they cleaned inside. Just the vacuum and dust it off with wet towel but left some diets under the seat. They cleaned outside of the car and dried it very well tho! This car wash business doesn't look like much, because it's basically a shack in a large parking lot, but don't be misled! They have great customer service and they do a really great job. My car was dying for a car wash after a trip to the beach. There was sand in the seats and in the carpet and the exterior was extremely dusty. But they managed to clean all the sand out and it was like my car was as clean as when I got it new. They have a clean, air conditioned waiting room with wifi where you can chill out while they're washing your car and offer a reward program for those with a smart phone it you download their app. Today was my second visit and they missed a couple spots, but still a really good job. Super clean overall except: still dust on my dashboard, the trunk part of the car where it opens wasn't cleaned, my seats were still fairly wet after being shampooed, and water still left on my console in the middle which was still pretty dirty if you ask me with all that dirt and dust on it in the photo. I absolutely love Shine Auto Spa! I was looking for a hand wash place in my neighborhood and had driven past this place several times and it was always busy so I decided to check it out. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and it took about an hour for them to do the Executive Wash (which was $27 for my 2-door coupe). They have a nice air conditioned waiting room with a TV to watch and there's a restroom and a cooler with drinks available for purchase. Everyone was super nice and professional and they did a GREAT job with my car - especially considering how dirty it was! I will definitely be going back! A couple other things to mention: 1. The price list shows they have a $60/mo. Unlimited Standard Wash package 2. They pick up your car if you live within a 2 mile radius 3. They did an awesome job hand washing my car. They missed a spot, I think it was bird poop... but other than that I was happy with the service. You get to seat inside while they finish your car. I asked if we could change the TV and pretty much got a very stern NOPE. (lol). I was there about 30 minutes for all. I got the $30 wash that included treatment on the leather. I usually go to the Heights for my carwash and was actually headed there when I turned around mid way and decided to support a black owned business. I have been here before and the staff that washes my car are always nice and approachable and they do a decent job even though the price point for a standard wash is higher than my normal $16.00. Now my only concern is how sterile and somewhat unapproachable the cashier/manager is. He doesn't even try to be welcoming or friendly. I'm used to actually talking to the owner at my regular spot who does talk to guest and invite them back. It just makes the overall experience more pleasant. I am a semi regular customer at Shine and I like the fact that they hand wash your car. However; service is extremely slow and they continuously half wash your car. The wait on a Saturday is 2 hours at the very least. I have the privilege of living close by so I usually anticipate the wait, drop my car off and walk back home. Today I dropped my car off was told it was a 2hr wait; came back 3 hours later they had just half vacuumed my car and the owner charged me $7. I paid the money but I will never return to this car wash again. No one has 3 hours to wait on their car on a Saturday when you have other places to go. I gave the two stars bc they are close and hand was your car and the price is reasonable. However the service is definitely 1 star quality. read more

For my first visit, they did a pretty good job. I noticed as I pulled out of the lot, inspecting the inside of my car, that areas of the floor in my back seat had not been vacuumed adequately...kinda disappointing. Other than that, my car was cleaned inside and outside quite well. It's a small set-up on the corner. There were places to sit outside and wait on your car, they had umbrella coverings to provide shade. There was also space inside the business to sit, watch TV, or read magazines while you wait if you wanted air conditioning. I like supporting small businesses and business owners, I plan to visit them again in the near future...hopefully that review will be an improvement from this one. read more

Well that was me today! I've be researching places around Houston to take my baby to get a little TLC bc she hasn't been washed since I moved to Houston about a month ago. Welp I decided to try out SHINE bc it was right down the street from my apartment and the price was affordable compared to other places. I paid $20 for inside and out that was supposed to include wipe down of the interior. The service was pretty quick but like other reviewers I did have my concerns. Don't get me wrong the outside looked nice but the inside.... Meh.... I wasn't impressed. The interior was half wiped down, floor mats not put back properly, and I still had dirt on my side drivers door and seat area. One of the guys politely volunteered to wipe my cup holder area and apologized because he too agreed that it wasn't up to par. Besides that the experience was decent. I usually like the quality of the wash at this establishment. They are centrally located between the museum district and 3rd ward. Today the inside of the car as well as the tires and wheels looked great. The outside still had spots all over the car and really needed to be washed again. I had to go around the car and point out spots to be removed with a wet rag. The management stated that was detailing. My point is it needed to be washed correctly in the first place. I have gone to this Carwash off and on for years. It isn't my Carwash of choice because the owner/manager is rude. However, I recently moved next door and because of the close proximity, I have been going regularly. I drop my JEEP off and walk home in under 1min. Today, I dropped my JEEP off, and tipped as always BEFORE my car was touched. The owner didn't ask for my number or give me a time frame to come back until I asked. So, I returned about 45min later (he suggested 30). When I arrived, I didn't see my car. The owner gestures that it's parked (where I can't see it) somewhere across the street. I asked if someone could get it for me, he said no. So, I was forced to cross traffic at a busy intersection to retrieve my vehicle that was parked FURTHER than my actual house. I've told the owner repeatedly where I live so you would think he would be more accommodating and simply park it next door. Instead, they drove it AWAY from my home and their shop and out of anyone's eyesight. I got to my car and every door was unlocked except the driver door. I have custom speakers installed - all of it could have been snatched out in an instant. This guy has no regard or respect for his customers and it's sad as this is a black-owned business in a historic black neighborhood. Went a second time owner was all frowned face and being rude, I said hey everyone is entitled to a bad day. Gave him another chance, I go today his workers were nice and friendly, but once again he had a stank attitude. He is an angry guy and must be mad at the world. You in the wrong line of biz if you can't greet people with a smile and a pleasant greeting. I actually was gonna get a full detail, but ended up leaving and going else where. Been getting my car washed at this neighborhood business for almost 2 years. Had a problem the last two times with my mirrors being messed up afterwards and not able to rotate. And sadly, change was missing from my car. Called to let them know and the young lady in the office dismissed me and became very combative with me on the phone and said she did not have time to listen to this and whatever change was missing she would give it back to me and out of her own pocket!
