Breakfast for 2 should NOT cost $60. We ordered a omelette meal, big breakfast( comes with eggs potato's meats and bread) and a side of biscuits in gravy that cost $12 for two biscuits cut in half and gravy on top. That alone is overpriced but I tried it anyways. It was nothing special. Anyways on top of it our waitress kept forgetting about us. She took my drink to get me a refill after I had to wave her down and ask and then 10 min later still no drink till she came to set the bill down and I asked about my drink. And I overheard the table next to us that she forgot their fruit cup for their infant and I never seen it show up before they left.. not impressed. First time to Shine Cafe. My fiancé and I were seated right away and offered drinks by the hostess. Our server came right over and talked us through our questions about the menu. Their menu offers both breakfast and lunch items without sacrificing quality on either. It's important to note that they also have a full bar with some higher end brands (Tito's, grey goose, etc). Our food came out quickly and at a ready to eat temperature. The flavors were great and the portions are large. We will be coming back! read more

I came here with a friend for the first time on Saturday. Though it was packed, it didn't take long to wait for a booth to open up. I ordered the original breakfast bowl (2 eggs, ham, bacon, sausage, onion, green pepper and American cheese all on top of potatoes) and my friend ordered the shine omelette (ham, bacon, sausage, onion, green pepper, cheddar and Monterey Jack). The menu also included so many unique sweet options so we ended up ordering a the berry bliss pancakes (strawberries, blueberries, vanilla buttercream, drizzled with vanilla and raspberry sauces, dusted with powdered sugar and served with whipped cream) to split between us. And yes, everything tasted as good as it sounded and as good as it looked. I had plenty of food to take home for leftovers. She gave us water and seemed angry we weren't having anything else to drink. After about 5 minutes she came back and we ordered . My wife ordered a waffle. It was $13.50. Seriously over-priced. It was good but I ordered the Oreo pancake and my partner ordered the pecan one. They put the pecan pancake toppings on the Oreo pancake, and then Oreo pancake toppings on the pecan pancakes. I seriously have nothing bad to say. Everything was top notch and blew my expectations from the service, food portions, and the quality look of it. When I placed my order, I wasn't expecting it to come rather instantly (give or take 5-10 minutes). Not sure if we came on a slow day or what but I was very happy with the speed and quality at which our food came out. This place is actually close by my house and had no idea such a place existed. We were seated promptly and brought our coffee and water immediately. The staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the avocado toast and a side of eggs over medium. (I'm typically not one to order something I can make at home but the server swore by the avocado toast) I was highly impressed. Finally a place that doesn't skimp on the avocado!! The balsamic glaze on top was delicious. There was so much avocado that it was falling off and onto the plate. I'm used to places where the bread is so thick without enough topping that you're just eating dry bread. Also- their avocado was FRESH!! With this being said though I do wish the bread was a tad thicker if they're going to load it up this much. The eggs were eggs, kinda hard to mess up. My boyfriend ordered the big breakfast combo. He doesn't complain about food ever but did mention he wasn't a fan of the ham, it was dry. He should have substituted for extra sausage. The only complaint I have is that we heard the waitstaff bickering over tables coming in and who's turn it was to take them. As someone who has spent 7+ years in the serving industry I found that to be unprofessional and give me awful flash backs. But hey I get it you gotta make your money, just complain in back of house. Ridiculous treatment. As a gentleman I dropped off my wife and 2 daughters at the door. They went in and were going to get a table as I parked the car. To my surprise I came in and they were waiting despite the entire restaurant being only half full. They said "we can't seat you on a Sunday until everyone is here" I kid you not...I was clearly parking the car and they saw me. Also it was not like they were completely full at all. This ruined what was supposed to be a nice brunch with the family. We only stayed because my children were hungry. My wife completely lost her appetite due to frustration. Just tried this spot for the first time 20 minutes ago. It's the only brunch place in miles that is open past 2 on Sundays. My boyfriend got the poor hunter (veggie) bowl and I got the original bowl with Swiss and poached eggs. Both were good. I was offered rye toast which was a nice option as opposed to white or wheat and the eggs were poached PERFECTLY! Overall very good and was $25 for what turned out to be a lot of food.
