I was looking to replace my other vehicle. Was not satisfied with the personal comfort nor the way the dealership in Roseville was handling my account. So I started looking for a new car. After looking around I began looking in to SUVs and in 2024 the professional reviews placed Subaru and Toyota in ties. When I looked in to owner reviews the Subaru pulled ahead. I went to the Subaru website and built the Forester I wanted and submitted it to all the local dealerships. Shingle Springs quoted me a lower price. They had the model in stock and I made an appointment to look it over and test drive the car while they determined the value of my old car. Test drive went nicely. I purchased the Forester in the end of April 2024. I think I was in and out within three hours. Madeleine Peralez was the rep who assisted me. She was of great help. I am not a heavy driver. Be VERY careful if they offer you a "loaner"! They literally left me stranded at work! I was promised a loaner while my cross trek had the defective windshield replacement. I admit that I forgot to bring my insurance card. I was insured! I understand not releasing a car to me until I can show you proof of indemnity, BUT they completely gave my car away! 10 minutes later I had proof of insurance! Seriously? This might seem trite, but it was not! I had no way to retrieve my car, but to leave the emergency room short staffed while I ubered to pick up my car from a sweet Sales guy. Geez. I came from Auto Nation Subaru Roseville, and that place was a dumpster fire and overpriced. Shot a phone call over to Shingle Springs Subaru and was offered a Service Slot the next morning. I ended up getting my 60K maintenance and a loaner car (Something Roseville refused to do). My service advisor was Brandon Eldridge and he made sure to take care of me and my 2018 Impreza up to and beyond Subaru of America Standards. I actually kind of threw Brandon a curve ball, I completed my oil change and my spark plug replacement on my own. The kicker to that was, I found fresh motor oil on my passenger side spark plugs. In addition to my 60k service, Brandon made sure the replacement of my valve cover gasket was covered by my CPO warrantee and got me back on the road with expedience and care. Overall I am very happy with my experience with Shingle Springs Subaru and I will be back. The turn around time on my car was lightning fast, I don't even think it was 48 hours before I was turning in my loaner keys and headed back home with a bulletproofed vehicle and peace of mind. read more

Unfortunately, Shingle Springs Subaru has been disappointing. From the staff who answer the phone and give incorrect information to Marcie, the controller, who's customer service leaves little to be desired. On two occasions, I was given information about my car that was incorrect by the people who answer the phone. Then it took Marcie a month to reimburse the money that I was charged for a service that did not occur. She basically said I got the money and was going to have to prove I didn't. Calling a customer a liar is probably not a good idea, especially over $20. The service writers were good and the car runs great so the mechanics were fine too. read more

I went through the internet sales process to buy a car for my mom. Easy, fast and one of the best car buying experiences I have had. 5 stars to the sales department. My mom went to get the 6k mile oil change at her scheduled 1:30pm time. She isn't one to bother anyone but after she was the only one in the lobby she went to the counter to check on her car at 4pm and was told they forgot to put her car into the system. The oil change was quick after they started however it is unacceptable to "forget" to check in her car. Zero stars for the service department. Will give my business to another dealership. read more

I purchased a 2024 Subaru Forester Wilderness from Shingle Springs Subaru a couple of weeks ago, and I am very pleased with this dealership. I decided to "upgrade" my 1993 Ford Explorer (that's all I've driving since 1997, I'm on my second one). I wanted a smaller vehicle, better mileage, that I could still go on the Forest Service, National Park and BLM roads I take the Explorer on. The 2024 Subaru Forester Wilderness version - geared more for off-road - was a good fit. The buying process from Shingle Springs Subaru was a surprisingly easy experience. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, easy going (not pushy or high pressure). I started the process via their Internet Sales person, got a price, drove there and they honored it without lots of upsell attempts. Before you leave with your new car, one of their staff goes through EVERYTHING the car does, so they know you understand your new car before you leave. They followed up shortly after the sale to find out how I was doing with my new Subaru and if I had any questions. And two weeks after the sale, their "vehicle specialist" contacted me to find out if I had any questions about any aspects of my new car. Great customer service!. I have to give a big shout out to this dealership. I bought a new car from Shingle Springs Subaru last year. I have always been buy a used car from a private party to save a few bucks kind of guy. However, since Covid a new car and used cost the same so it's a no brainer. I did all my haggling online so when it was time to purchase the Wilderness Outback the deal was set and under the suggested price. This was one of the only car dealers in my area finally selling cars under MSRP last year. Once I purchased the car there was NEVER a push to bring my car back to them. I was offered a free tire oil change and tire rotation when I bought the car at the 6 month, 6,000 miles. Six months later, I needed to do it again and decided to bring it to them. There was an hour delay because of unforeseen problems they had to service my car. The Service Department Rep was extremely understanding and really provided excellent customer service. In conclusion. I have never bought a car from a dealership but Shingle Springs has been as easy and comforting as it could have ever been. They are real, honest and just good people in my experience. The worst! I have been going to Maita getting all my service done for the past 5 years owning various Subarus, but figured I try these guys since I live in Folsom. Made an appointment for 9am 7/23/25, dropped the car off with service advisor Chris Volk. First interaction, the guy came across as he didn't want to be there and could care less. 2pm, no word. Called left him a VM what is the status, 2:20 I called back and got a hold of him. Chris said (same attitude as initial point) and his favorite line he keeps reaping during all my interactions wit him; "it's been assigned to the tech but I don't know". Said will try to find out and call me back. 3pm still nothing. Called him back and his favorite line again and that the tech is on lunch. Chris has been very indifferent during all interactions with him. I was not happy at this time and told him do not do anything to the car and picked it up. Took it to Maita for an 8am appointment the next day and with-in an hour they called me with an status of the work that needs to be done. Will never do business with these guys!!!! read more

The sale was extremely low pressure, they were fair on the price, and Omar in their finance department took extra time to walk me through the extended warranty I was purchasing and what exactly was covered. Yesterday I went to see a used Subaru. They are a very busy place and I understand it's probably busy because it's a Saturday. Tim was the salesperson who helped me, and my overall experience with him was fine. However, when they ran my credit application, I specifically told Tim that I did not want them checking with more than one bank. He said they were going to send it to Chase only. The results from Chase didn't come back as I wanted. Tim said he will go see what he can do. He came back with a Wells Fargo quote. I asked him why it's Wells Fargo now, he replied that Chase and Wells Fargo were basically the same. I didn't think of anything..so we ended up not going through with what was offered to us. We left and a few hours later, I see five additional notifications from my email that inquiries were made to check my credit report. Shingle Springs Subaru sent my application to a total of seven...SEVEN lenders to try to get me the rates I wanted. I was furious! I texted and called Tim and he did not reply back to me. I called and complained with his manager, Sonny, and the manager said the message wasn't relayed to him. The manager went on to tell me that it's just a myth about the multiple inquiries affecting my credit score. He even brought up the multiple lenders that was sought when I bought my Tundra in 2021. I told him, yes, I know about that..that's why I don't want the same thing happening! I'm an upset customer and Tim is not a man of his words like he claimed. read more

Great experience today with Trevor - he was super friendly and well prepared for our visit so we were in and out pretty quickly even with a test drive, negotiations, and purchase. He managed to get me a great deal on a used Prius and would definitely recommend him and the dealership to anyone looking for appropriately priced vehicles at a local business where they don't make you feel pressured. Also worth mentioning is that often these are male-dominated spaces and that can be uncomfortable negotiating and talking shop when you're a female, but Trevor and the staff were honest and kind, and I walked away feeling good about my purchase. TLDR: Incompetence run amuck. Terrible autorepair operation. Service doesn't talk to parts doesn't talk to cashier doesn't talk to service - who doesn't communicate with their customers. We arranged warranty work and a service for our Outback, our warranty part took forever to come in and Parts refused to call us when it came in - just said to keep checking in. The customer, who is not an autorepair professional, should not have to coordinate Service and Parts departments for themselves. When we eventually got the work done, they never called to let us know it was finished, and when we finally picked up the vehicle no one offered to go over the repairs one last time; and the battery was dead. The car wash guy had to jump it (battery tested good on the oil change paperwork, so that means the dealership did something to drain it while the car was there). These people can't get out of their own way, steer clear and take your car anywhere else. read more

Absolutely terrible service. The manager blew me off to talk to a young pretty girl. Yep, classic. They erased all the info on the constantly freezing infotainment system and told me that if it happens again to "clear the cache". So let me get this straight, I am driving on the freeway, The screen freezes and everything that works off if it, which is everything, stops working. I am supposed to pull over, restart the car, hope it comes back on and erase everything having to re install all my information. This is our first and last Subaru I will buy, and definitely will not be bringing my Subaru there for service while I still own it. We bought our 2021 Subaru Forester Limited from Shingle Springs Subaru in February 2024 even though there are other Subaru dealers closer to where we live in Roseville. We are completely satisfied with the experience and with the way Tim and Jeff handled the whole transaction. All our questions were answered and we will definitely be visiting them again when we need another car. Omar handled the finance end of the transaction and we are also extremely satisfied with the way he walked us through finalizing the purchase. Purchased my vehicle new in January 2023 and have had hit and miss experiences with this entire team. Sales - Tim Gonzales is a snake. Will lie to you about warranties and what they cover just to have you spend money on the warranties and have them not cover the work that needs to be done. When contacted, states he will call you back in 5 minutes only to not hear from him for the rest of the day (3 hours later they closed). Failed to share all options with me when I was originally purchasing my vehicle. I would not recommend him as a salesman to anyone, ever. Overall not a good human being. Service - Usually they're pretty great. As of lately, not so much. Failed to update me on parts for my appointment then canceled on me when I was already 40 minutes into driving there. This happened 3 times for the same part, each time being told as I was already on my way. We then made ANOTHER appointment once we verified the part was in. They called the day before that appointment (I was already heading into town as I live 2 hours away so I stay somewhere closer the night before) and told me it couldn't be done. I refused rescheduling as I had already been rescheduled 3+ times before. Luckily they made the appointment happen and replaced that part under warranty. HOWEVER, several other issues occurred during this appointment. I was called and told that my warranty would not cover the paintless dent repair despite purchasing the specific dent repair warranty and being told it would cover any dent that didn't also need paint repair. This is when I called and spoke to Tim the salesman and he failed to call me back despite telling me he would. I was also told they wouldn't even attempt to fix the seatbelt receiver and rather that it would have to be replaced for over $250 when all it needs is the debris to be blown out with an air gun. Upon picking up my vehicle, I discovered that an irreplaceable personal item was missing. I had specifically warned the person moving my car about this item, that it was fragile, and that I would be upset if it was missing when I returned. No one seemed to care when I asked where my item was, rather looking irritated at my frustration and basically telling me it's my fault my item is missing because I "didn't tell the right person". I was given a card to call the manager "when they're back in a few days". That's not the only missing item either, my work key set is nowhere to be found. They also stated they cleaned my car - apparently this just means taking a hose to the outside even though they've vacuumed the interior floors in the past. Cleaning my car isn't a big deal, just another cherry on top. Oh, also returned my car to me with 2 less bars of gasoline. Overall, the service people are pretty nice to your face until you point out their wrongdoings. read more
