This Shipleys is located in a small plaza that also has other restaurants that are unique compared to so many repetitive items in the area. There's plenty of parking. It's never super busy and they have a pretty decent selection of donuts. They also have kolaches which I had never heard of before, but it's like almost like a pretzel dog of some sort. Either way, I was here for donuts and I purchased about a half a dozen. There's no specials or anything you pay for them individually and they're priced a little bit higher than you would a regular mom and pop donut shop, which they're really aren't any anywhere in the area. They're still better than some of the other outrageous donut shops around that cater to trendy BS donuts with stale cereal on top or just junk, or overly large. It might be the economy, or it might be their decision, but it was still pretty pricey for what it is- donuts. I did like that they had old-fashioned, crullers, and other types of donuts that you just don't see all the time anymore. read more

Purposely giving three stars so this doesn't appear just to be a mindless review. We've been coming for three years and the donuts have gotten smaller and smaller and worse and worse. The last two times their glazed buttermilk was equivalent in size to the mini Krispy Kreme you buy at the grocery store that look like toys. Friendly staff. Good service. I have been wanting to try this place since I first saw it and was excited. Came here right before 6am to grab donuts for work and at that time there was no line but also a select few of donuts to choose from. Thankfully they just finished making the blueberry cake donuts, my favorite kind and they were nice and warm! I also ordered donut holes and she asked me if wanted mixed bag or just one flavor. I never knew there was more than one flavor of donut holes so I chose the mixed bag and it was amazing! The chocolate donut holes were mt favorite. If you have a specific donut you want I'd recommend coming in later so they have a larger selection. And this place is pricey, I got a dozen, half dozen and donut holes which cost me over $40 so keep that in mind. Overall I liked the donuts and would come back. read more

Came here this morning about 30 minutes after they opened. I sat in the drive-thru for around 10 minutes with no response at all. Ended up having to go inside, where the same person wearing a headset helped me. After paying, the tip screen came up and they just stood there watching, which made things awkward. I didn't tip. On the positive side, the donuts themselves are amazing -- easily the best donuts in the Springs. Also, if you write a review you get two free glazed donuts, so that's a plus.
