We were looking forward to trying Shipley's and decided to place an online order before heading over. The staff let us know that the plain cake was unavailable and offered a replacement. We drove off and I decided to check the receipt which shows the twist crossed out. We went back to the drive thru and informed them of the missing item and they let us know it wasn't available and offered a replacement item. By the time we were almost home. I decided to check the whole order and noticed there wasn't a chocolate walnut, they replaced it without our input with a chocolate sprinkles and we also found they didn't give us one of our Kolaches as we ordered 3. Highly disappointing since this was our first visit and there were so many errors and lack of communication. There was also a $2 online service fee. We haven't ordered in person but I would not recommend ordering online. read more

Great customer service through the drive through. Ordered a half dozen pastries for approximately $13.50. The box was very heavy and the portions were a nice size. My favorite was what I call a long john with Bavarian cream and chocolate on top and I am not normally a cinnamon roll person but this one was very good and it had walnuts in it. My least favorite was the apple fritter. I was looking forward to and I love apple fritters which is why I ordered 2 but the tops were pretty dark almost burnt and I didn't see any apple in the fritter. There's donuts, and then there's Shipley's. Growing up in Houston, having a Shipley's in the Colorado Springs area is a God-send. And the staff are so amazing. Especially the one lady that I meet on Saturday mornings. She's so accommodating and friendly. I work nights, and every morning, after work, I drive a few miles out of my way to buy a box of Shipley's as a treat for my family, for when they wake up. I always ask the lady at the counter for a dozen very random pick of donuts. I like variety, and I usually have other kids come to the house, and I want everyone to have a different donut. Some of the ladies are better at the idea of random than others. There's one, in particular, who never fails to get it just the way I like it. The donuts and kolachis are amazing. read more

It's very disappointing that every weekend they run out of kolaches as early at 8 am for the entire day. There is also no signage letting folks know they are out of this item or many others and then your stuck in the drive through without ordering. The management team needs to start making changes ensuring they make enough of their donuts, kolaches and other items to have enough for customers to order from open to close. Not the greatest donuts I have ever had but much better then anything else here in the springs. I really liked the cinnamon donut thing with apples in it. It has a speciality name but I forgot what it is. Hate how they pack their donuts. They get smooshed and the toppings come off onto the donut in front of them. Oh, their donuts are crispy. Honestly, I hate writing negative reviews. Seriously. Check my record, I'm notoriously nice. But I can say, I won't be back. We get to the drive through for a snack for our day of fun with the kids after getting our car washed and we're greeted with what sounded like an annoyed teenager (I'm not sure, she sounded young, but I'm 30 and old now and know nothing lol). That's okay, we all have bad days, no biggie. We tried ordering a cake donut, they are all out. Cool cool. Glazed it is. Then the kids wanted shakes because it's finally warm and they are kids lol. She audibly sighed and quoted 5-7 minutes. I get it, I worked fast food for many years, but come on, sigh off mic lol! We say no big deal. We will wait. We get to the window, pay, get our two donuts and then not 30 seconds later our shakes. Girl. I get you don't want to make em, but at least have us pull and wait if you're going to try and not sell the item. Yuuuummmm. I love a good airy donut and Shipley's has got the right recipe. They have a great selection to choose from. I ordered two dozen to take to the office and of course my girls had to get the cotton candy donut. They loved them, so I tried a bite and I was pleasantly surprised that it was sickeningly sweet! I tried a sausage, jalapeño, and cheese kolache and it was just ok. The cream in the creamed filled donut was more like a thinner fluff than a butter cream. I prefer a thicker cream, but you better believe I still ate it. I like that they don't have a bunch of weird, too many toppings donuts. We will definitely visit again! read more

I heard great things about this place and was so excited to try it out! But what a disappointment. First, the staff were kind of rude and very unbothered. Second, the donuts were just..yuck. I got my daughter an icing donut with sprinkles, she ate maybe 1/3 of it. the icing was maybe like half an inch thick, and she was picking it up with her fingers, it was lj ike play-dough consistency. If a kid won't eat the donut, there's soemthing wrong with it. I got the Bavarian cream filled donut. The donut itself was light and fluffy but the filling inside was vile. It tasted like a mixture of bland and glue, and the consistency was thick and stringy. Absolutely gross. Will definitely not be returning. read more

We're not from the area- but we were excited when we saw this place. However the service was awful, she seemed bothered whenever she talked to us. They told us they were out of something and was like, "is that all you want?" I don't know- she just seemed really rude to us. There's also I sign by the paying window that they don't wear masks due to " health reasons" however literally No one was wearing a mask in this store. Little odd that everyone on the store has health issues maybe they should be at home and not working. If I would have known no one inside was wearing masks I don't think I would have gone. read more

This place is TRASH! I purchased a couple donuts and Kolaches this morning thinking they would be as good as people say. Instead I received cold, burnt and stale food. The staff is great, but their food is disgusting. I would expect a lot more and better from a place that up-charges everything. I'll stick to Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme. read more

I cannot speak on the donuts, but I will review this place based on the kolaches. They are some of the better ones I have had. The pastry is always buttery and soft and the sausage and ham is always very flavorful. My only criticism would be I wish the filling portion were a bit bigger. The doughnuts are good. However paying 77.14 for 2 to go coffee boxes and 2 dozen doughnuts is excessive. I went back in and asked if the coffee was really 27.45 a box and the counter girl said "yep" I said the website says 16 and to that she replied "thats wild" and walked away. I wont be back.
