We live right around the corner. We have been coming here since this branch opened because it's convenient and well, there's a lot of choices. We live the kolaches and donut balls. On service, some of the drive thru are customer oriented but others are less so. It doesn't matter. We like the place and we don't take it personally. As an example, yesterday we ordered chocolate glazed donuts. We were given glazed. Did we get mad. Nope. It's just food. We went home and put chocolate frosting on the donuts and voila. Had an order with them through Uber Eats. Half of my order was missing. When I called to complain, they said they tried calling me, however no one left me a voice mail so I had no way of knowing it wasn't a solicitor. Why did they call & not leave a voice mail? Do they expect people to answer unknown calls? UPDATE: Someone from that store contacted me in response to my review. He claimed my voice mailbox was full. However, it wasn't -- it was empty. I told him as much. Also, I had already spoken with someone at the store & asked her why she didn't leave a voice mail & she had no answer. Clearly if she got a full mailbox, she would have told me that. Worse, despite their claims of crediting the order on UberEats, they still showed the charge, and I had to talk to UberEats to get it removed. The response has not convinced me to change the 1 star rating. They shouldn't have contacted me unless they were: 1. Going to take responsibility. 2. Make it right. read more

Hello all, as well as business owner, I have been able to take the time to read more of the reviews left on this specific location, and realize that many people including me have concerns over the staff here at this location. To the business owner, I understand you're doing your best to respond to the concerns on yelp, but people for years ago reviewed the same way as I did recently, so as much as you said you would help improve to not only to me but the customers for years ago, and it has not changed a bit is concerning. I know it's hard to find workers to work the late tiring shifts but I'm sure you can find people who can serve with better attitudes so you don't have to deal with so many bad reviews. Whataburger is 24-7 and I worked there plenty of times over night shifts and still managed to put a smile on my face. I know this happened a few weeks ago to me but I hate that these employees are ruining shipleys for them and for me. So many donuts in one place! We tried several different kinds and they were all delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was fast! And the donuts, oh the donuts! They were warm, sweet, chewy, with a bit of a crunch, and covered in a wonderful assortment of toppings! I am definitely glad to have tried out this location: this may be my favorite donut shop now! So we went to shipleys twice in a day. In the morning we had the bavarian filled donut and the crunch. Both were pretty good. At night we came back to try a boston creme one and the apple fritter. I personally love apple fritters. They are my favorite to get at donut shops and I was so excited bc I've heard so many great things about the fritters here. To my disappointment, this was one of the absolute worst apple fritter. I didn't even know you could mess up on an apple fritter bc literally gas station apple fritters tasted a million times better than that. I was extremely dissappinted. The boston creme filled one was not that good either the cream was bland not filled as much. Overall I like shipleys plain donuts nothing else. However my bf really loved the bavarian filled. We came back a couple time since then and it has been a great experience! The glazed chocolate, apple filled, devils food, chocolate creme filled were all amazing. This location is awesome! This is the "concept store" as I've seen, and I love trying some of their "test items" that I can't get in Lake Charles. The Italian Sausage Kolache was great! They also have unique flavors like the oreo and crunch donut which were great. They have a sample pack which is awesome! The coffeehouse menu is great, and every Shipley Do-Nuts should seriously adapt it. A few stores I visit when I travel around have adopted it or part of it. Beaumont has the frappes but lacks the expresso, which is necessary for me as I ask for extra shots. Another concept they're adopting is the rewards program (wonder if this will ever go franchise-wide as it should). The employees didn't offer much help when I couldn't seem to get my program going, but I can't really blame them because it's probably improperly set up for now. Hot donuts all day! My husband went to go pick up doughnuts for us. Originally, the doughnuts hadn't been put in a box, they were put into bags, which then resulted in them being quite sloppy when trying to eat them. Called this location about it, and although I was disappointed they had run out of a few of the doughnuts I originally ordered, everything seemed to work out. Do-Nuts itself is the same, except they have a wider range of selection. What did annoy me is employees have no training on what they offer. Clearly Yelp says they offer a $7 for $10 value, but the employees have no knowledge of such. So don't waste your time. They're scamming you or this is how I felt tonight when the lady has no idea how to enter the code and tried to say it was for Door Dash only or that I had to print out the voucher, which clearly isn't stated so in the fine line. We even told her the redeem code had to be typed it. Not going to deter me from random donut cravings, but this location really needs to train workers and get on par with what they offer in yelp. Ps. My receipt also showed free beignets being redeemed, so they would have to have a button for the $10 value redemption. I could not believe the level of customer service I received at this location. Had a large delivery order last minute, so I called to confirm they could handle it. I was told repeatedly it was no problem by the person who answered the phone, until I received a call later that day, a couple hours prior to the delivery time, informing me, no they absolutely couldn't do it. Figured, ok, mistakes happen, so I'm only mildly annoyed. When I went into the store in person, my experience got worse. I walked up to the register, wasn't greeted or smiled at...the woman just stared at me blankly. When I said I had a to-go order, again, not a word, she just walked away to go speak to someone (I assume). This location is very clean, friendly, and well stocked. There's a lot of good reasons that this place has great reviews. I drive out of my way 20 minutes because they're the only location that I know of that offers meatless kolaches. Usually, you place an order one hour ahead on the website and they make a batch for you (atleast I assume since they request you order in advance). However, when I got there, my order was sitting out on the counter next to the register instead of the warming cabinet. Also, the staff obviously cut open pre-made kolaches and pulled out the sausage. I'm not that picky of a vegetarian, but I can see someone being turned off by this alone. So does it take 60 minutes to cut out the meat? I'm guessing not since my order was probably sitting out for most of that time. Now I'm not sure what I'll get if I order online. I would have really appreciated if someone called me ahead of time and told me my request was not possible or would take a little longer. I'll edit my review and assume this was a fluke if the next time turns out better. read more

Shipley's got beignets? Must be specific to this location but they are made fresh to order, even at 2am when you've just picked up your Whataburger taquitos next door and need that dessert to close the palate. Shipley's has a 24 hour drive through window that makes this happen. Just make sure you are clear that you want only ONE order of beignets. They have two options: a box of 2 beignets or a box of 4. I told them I wanted two beignets and they gave me 4 saying I asked for 2 orders. The miscommunication was rectified and it ended up being fine. As for the beignets, I thought they tasted pretty good. Never had Cafe Dumond (benchmark?) but I figure these are still good overall. This Shipley location is pretty legit compared to other one's I've been to. I love that this location has fresh beignets and has a good spacious area to eat your donuts. I ordered the cinnamon sugar and regular sugar donut. Checking in will give you an offer for free beignets if you purchase a coffee. They gave us a full order of 4 beignets worth $6. The beignets were so fresh and so delicious. I would've ordered more if they were good after a couple of hours. Compared to other locations, I really like how they have a good dining area so that we could enjoy our donuts and coffee. The donuts appear to be really fresh as well. Definitely choose this location over others :) read more

I ordered off yelp so I could pull up to the window and leave fast in and out. I get to the window the woman says she can't give me the food yelp ordered through grub hub I have to walk inside. This is the worst Shipley's Do-Nuts I have ever ordered. I was on my way to a career day hosted by CPS and decided to pick up donuts and koloches. When I arrived at my destination 2 minutes away I discovered the koloches were hard as rocks and cold. Donuts were cold and hard. I called the store no answer so I lift a message with a phone number. No one called back. After my conference I took donuts back to this Shipley's and Carmen refused to refund me and was very rude. I threw all the donuts in their trash can and left.
