Shipley's is one of the only donut places open early enough for me to get donuts for students and teachers at my school. I've always appreciated this location due to their speedy service both at the counter and (at least by observation) through the drive-through. While I'm not a fan of their kolaches (they're a bit skinny and lean for me), the donuts are another story entirely. Shipley's has the corner market on variety, from Bavarian creams to jelly-filled and powdered-sugar dusted. You name it, they probably have 10 other variations of it. I personally am partial to their cinnamon sugar donuts. The batter here will vary based on what you choose, with some donuts yielding a bit more chew than others. I have noticed these donuts (like many others) are best partaken fresh. The longer you leave them, the less appealing they seem; despite retaining flavor. I learned this the hard way after buying a mixed assortment too early for my workplace only to have a bunch of deflated (but still delicious) dessert breakfasts waiting. read more

We just went to Shipley's because I've been craving kolaches. We got 2 sausage, egg and cheese kolaches, 2 cheese and sausage kolaches, and 2 jalapeño, cheese and sausage kolaches. All of the kolaches were more bread than actually sausage and the sausage tasted like a hot dog. The donuts were really amazing and customer service was super friendly. I love Shipley's donuts so much! This location is practicing social distancing and enforcing wearing of the mask. This location was very clean inside, and is not allowing patrons to dine inside. There is a super convenient drive thru option at this location! I will definitely be coming back for the convenience. I had a plain sugar donut this morning and it was absolutely delicious. I love Shipley's and we brought my cousin to try them out from out of town but we were very disappointed. The donuts were not fresh and were cold! The kolaches looked undercooked and not big and fluffy like they usually are. Friend ordered French vanilla iced coffee that tasted like caramel. It's really hard to find a good Shipley's location outside of Houston, so I was super excited when I found out one was being open not too far from where I work/live! I've been patiently waiting for this to finally be open and I got a change to try it out today. It has a drive-thru, so it's very convenient but today I decided to step out of the comforts of my car and check out the store front in the inside. The interior is very spacious and clean. It had a lingering smell of cleaners which was off-putting. It didn't really have that busy morning, churning out the donuts kind of smell. Anyway, there is the usual selection of donuts available from Shipley's and I got my usual items: cinnamon twist and a coconut iced. In my experiences at Shipley's...sometimes there are two types of cinnamon twist: the glazed version and the sugared version. I usually get the glazed (preferred) version by default. Imagine my disappointment when I got my bag and opened it after leaving to find the sugared version in my bag. Sure, I could have been more specific, but the person behind the counter could have also asked for clarification. It was a lack of communication from both sides of the counter. So yeah, the sugared version tasted fine. It wasn't the freshest I've had. The coconut iced donut tasted a lot fresher than the sugared cinnamon twist. I'll likely return, but mostly because now I want my glazed cinnamon twist. And I'll have to try the plain glazed. Updated review to follow. read more

No matter what location you go to Shipley's is always a good choice for donuts or kolaches. This location is clean and the staff is very friendly. They do have a few tables if you want to dine inside but you'll smell like fried donuts when you leave. They offer a variety of delicious donuts and you can get the kolaches with it without jalapeños. They offer various drinks as well as coffee. Stop by this or any location and enjoy ! read more

Really disappointed with the customer service my first time in. The middle aged woman with dark features and hair was very unwelcoming and annoyed to be serving customers. I've now visited them twice choosing to forget the bad customer service on my first visit and opting for the drive thru the second time. Wait times were really long, but this time a blonde middle aged woman was very kind and cheery. They need to get a menu posted ASAP. Anyway, the lady took my order for a half dozen variety and chocolate donut bar filled with Bavarian cream quickly and I was on my way. I got home opened my bag and went straight for my Bavarian cream donut only to find that she gave me a cinnamon twist donut instead. Sad day. That was disappointing but not worth driving all the way back to have it replaced anyway I ate my Cinn twist wishing it was a Bavarian cream filled chocolate donut instead... Good location but Friday must be doughnut day across the world because at 8am the assortment of doughnuts to see was limited when I went inside to grab my sweet breakfast craving. There was only one customer in front of me waiting for her order to be put together by a employee in the back so it took a few moments. There was one employee in the front working hard with drive-thru traffic and it appeared other employees were cleaning up in the back. I got a glazed cinnamon twist for $1.69 and out the door I went. It was a generously sized doughnut twist, heavily coated with icing. Not as fluffy "melt in my mouth" soft as I'd like but it tasted good with a hint of cinnamon. ZERO STARS! At this location the customer service in AWFUL!! I patiently waited for exactly 6 minutes before I was recognized a girl in the back finally said " I will be right with you." I waited another 3 minutes then a white man walked in and with in 20sceonds the girl walked from the back and took his order ignoring me after I had already been waiting. She did not ask who was next she just looked at him like his was important and took his order. I walked out of the building. Went in here to get donuts for my co-workers, this is a newer location so i hadn't had the pleasure of stopping by until today. VERY VERY fast. I got there at about 6:30 am this morning (Friday) to no wait inside and there was only 1 person in the drive-thru. I actually chose to go inside to place my order because I just could not take a chance that the only person in drive-thru person might have an order the size of their backseat. As soon as I walked in I was greeted, there was a blonde guy running the drive-thru window and he was clearly busy with the customer i just mentioned so another dark haired guy came up from the back and quickly got my 1 dozen donuts ready without hesitation. Follow up from last review. I went this morning at 8:00 am to get donuts, waited in line for less than 10 minutes this time, got up to the window and ordered 6 glazed donuts. Sounds easy enough, however, they are OUT of glazed donuts and it will be 20 to 30 minutes for them to make the donuts!!! Are you kidding me? So, I said never mind and let without any donuts AGAIN!! This is the 2nd time I left with no donuts within 6 months. I drove less than a mile down the street and bought donuts from Snowflake Donuts. I wrote a review on my last visit because of no donuts available and received an email from someone in Houston saying they were sorry and would correct the problem! The problem is not solved. If you're operating a donut shop....you should have at least the basics available at 8:00 in the morning. The young girl in the window didn't even have the common courtesy to apologize that they didn't have the donuts. As I was driving off I noticed the truck behind me left also. The staff is usually pretty friendly. The way this place is setup is a disaster though. It has the world's longest, most awkward drive-thru. To expedite the ordering process, you'd think there would be a menu or an ordering station with a speaker/mic and screen but there is none of the above. Just a super long tour of the back side of a bunch of businesses and when you finally make it around the corner to the side, they take your order at the window and deliver the food. They should really consider adding a menu board, because a few times I've been here, the wait has been longer than it has to be because if you've never been to a Shipley's before (read your review on 6/26 and that's one prime example) - it really holds up the line for you to be at the window asking about every other item they carry. And logistically, this should've been in place before this location opened. Another logistical oops -- what genius decided to put the sign at the exit literally behind the bushes when its incredibly shorter than the bushes? You may as well just not even have a sign there at all. read more
