I contacted Bay Area Efficient Movers just 2 days before my move via Yelp, and they were quick to respond, provide a quote, and send the details! Dennis and Uplaksh showed up on time, with smiles on their faces :) They provided us with all the moving supplies we needed, included in the price -- such a deal! I was even more inclined to write this review because a week after using these movers, my boyfriend had already scheduled a different company to move out of his apartment and we had a terrible experience. Dennis and Uplaksh really earned their keep -- They worked quickly and efficiently. They wrapped everything carefully -- nothing was damaged. They even managed to fit all of my things into a tiny 4x4 storage unit (didn't realize how much I had, oops!) Overall, they were true moving professionals and a pleasure to work with. Will from BAEM responded *VERY* quickly to my last minute request. I had a six room apartment in SF that I was moving out of, and the other moving crew bailed on me last minute due to a BS reason. Not only that, but I had to be out of the flat by noon. In my desperate state, I did *not* expect these guys to show up on time (let alone 10 minutes earlier than expected at 7:50am), or be efficient or easy to work with. Very much the opposite, as Baur, Sasha and Max were absolute champs and absolutely committed to the task at hand. They showed up earlier than expected, did a fantastic job wrapping and hauling the furniture I couldn't get to, and even managed to squeeze in some items that I hadn't planned on taking (massive area rug, armoire). It hailed for a good ten minutes in between the pouring rain that morning, and these guys worked without complaint. Absolutely requesting them again if I move soon. read more

We ended up canceling our reservation with BAEM and going with another company after I found they communicated unprofessionally and poorly compared to the three moving companies I have used in the past year and the other companies from which I requested quotes this time. On several occasions, they took so long to respond that I had to follow up and, on the third time, threaten to move my business elsewhere if they had not responded within five business days (totally understandable if they were able to explain why!!). We went with a company that sent a well-organized, polite, comprehensive estimate, responded quickly, and complied with my request to see a (blank) contract ahead of time so I could read it thoroughly before signing day-of. BAEM would not provide that Agreement when asked, despite CPUC regulations requiring they actually provide the fully complete, ready-to-sign contract no less than 3 days ahead of time. I'm sure they are nice people and good movers, but I need companies I hire to communicate attentively, clearly, and effectively, especially when we're talking about spending hundreds of dollars on moving all of our life belongings. read more

Would highly recommend BAEM. The guys were professional, courteous, on time and did a thorough job in dismantling and reassembling the furniture. These guys were absolutely fantastic. On moving day they called to say they were running early, so we were able to get a most-appreciated head start. The movers were friendly and fast while still being careful with my things. What was most impressive was how the team handled a mirror that did not make it from the old apartment to the new place. When I emailed to ask if it had accidentally been left on the truck, they replied immediately to let me know they were checking their trucks. That same day they emailed again to let me know the mirror had not turned up but that they wanted to replace it for me. I sent them a link to where I had purchased, and a brand new replacement was delivered to me less than a week later. A professional, fast, thorough and very honest team over at BAEM. I hired Bay Area Efficient Movers to move my grandparents 1934 GE refrigerator (83 years old), which I will be having restored. It had not been moved from their home for 64 years. The three movers took extra great care wrapping it and protecting it and trying to move it in the best possible way to keep it as upright as possible. Everything I had asked them for such as a truck with a lift gate, refrigerator carrying straps, a 4 wheel dolly and an upright dolly, they came prepared with. They were courteous, considerate and took great care of my antique fridge! They got it to it's destination, without any hiccups, where it now awaits the next phase in it's life! I had a great experience with Bay Area Efficient Movers. I had to move by the *next* weekend and sent out a bunch of messages to multiple moving companies; BAEM were prompt to respond and I was able to schedule it that same weekend. Nick and Vitali showed up on time (and called 30m ahead to give me an ETA), packed everything up (including disassembling my giant bed / dresser), and then unloaded up in San Francisco really fast as well. I don't like giving bad reviews and try to support companies especially in a time like this, but If I could give zero stars I would. I had to cancel my 8/29/20 move with this company. I was very disappointed with the entire experience. I filled out the yelp questionnaire regarding my move details. It does not seem informative enough for moving companies. The communication was poor with these guys. Thankfully I called them and learned there would be possible added charges based on the weight of my couch. Anything more than 200 pounds you get charged additionally $75 PER stair step. Thay is Crazy. I called and they wanted to come to my place to see how much my couch weighed. They scheduled to come to my place at 9am yesterday 8/22/20 to look at my couch, but NEVER showed up. I had to call and then rescheduled for them to come between 3-5pm that same day, and AGAIN they never showed up. They also never called to tell me they weren't coming. It's so rude and horrible way to run a business to just leave customers hanging and uninformed. I can not recommend any one who would treat a customer like this. Very sad to have this experience when moving is very stressful and with many people leaving SF, movers are booked up. It was inconsiderate of these guys to not show up or not call me twice. read more

They were very efficient, very professional, and also really friendly - I'd lost my voice but they were very accommodating and made it work. I had a few breakable small appliances I was a bit worried about but they brought them over fine. They came exactly when they said they would as well. BEAM helped us move this past Wednesday and I have nothing but positive things to say about their services. I hired them because of their quick response, positives reviews and they sure didn't disappoint. My move wasn't too far, only from Oakland to Walnut Creek. The move day came up quickly and we were a bit behind in getting everything packed and boxed up before they arrived due to the Turkey Holiday the week prior. However, that was no problem at all. They went above and beyond to help get as many things boxed and packaged. They also took special care of things that were a bit more fragile. We had everything completed within 5 hours, which exceeded my expectations. The offered to put anything furniture together or move furniture around once it was all unloaded. I'm one of those people that has moved a lot over the past 6 years -- in fact, 5 times, so that means hiring help typically on both ends of each move. I've had great movers (in fact, the movers that jigsawed and tetris-ed everything into the moving truck this time were incredible - like watching a team of Hulks on caffeine - I don't think they stopped running the whole time and they were huge) and not-so-great movers. I thought that the BAEM movers were courteous and careful, and overall seemed like nice guys (only one spoke English, but he was nice), but incredibly slow. Of all the movers, I'd rate them as one of the slowest groups I've hired. Because of that and some challenges in communicating ("this way up" on boxes didn't get understood, I think), I wouldn't hire them again. This isn't to say they were the worst, but I've probably had five or six other companies that were better. I just didn't have the experience of the other reviewers on here. update an hour later: Adam contacted me immediately regarding this review and asked that I include that the movers finished the move safely in the 3 hours (which is their minimum charge). I'm totally fine explicitly including that here. As I wrote, I think they were an adequate and nice team, just slower than other movers I've hired. I'm not a huge fan of Adam's response to this review, but to each their own. read more

Had an excellent experience with these guys. The communication was good, the showed up with enough muscle, truck space, and the necessary gear. They packed the truck efficiently and carefully. All our furniture and belongings arrived with no damage. They went to extra mile to help get my arcade cabinet around back by taking off a side-gate fence and reattaching it -- no complaints. I had to do some adjustments to a bed frame they reassembled, but that's totally reasonable and if you're detailed oriented probably something you should do yourself anyway. They tried their absolute best to pack 8 years worth of stuff (family of 4 with pets) onto their truck and it worked. My husband and I did minimal help; in fact, we felt many times throughout the day that we were just in the way and all 3 gentlemen can move more efficiently and thoroughly with us not helping. I scheduled my move with the Bay area efficient movers 10 days prior to my planned move date as they offered an attractive price quote. That turned out to be a huge mistake. Our agreement was that they will come to move my 1 bedroom apartment, from 11:30-3:00, with their estimation that it will probably be towards noon, but they promised to give me a 1 hour notice by phone. The night before the move, at literally quarter to midnight, I got a confirmation email letting me know it will probably be around 3pm instead. On the following day, we were busy cleaning up both apartments and rushed back around 14:15 to be home for the movers, however no call was received still. I called the company asking if they're coming still at 3pm and was told they're going to be half an hour late. I asked if they will still give me a call 1 hour before arriving and they confirmed. Half an hour later I'm calling to check in as I'm getting no calls from their side, and am told that they will be there anywhere from 15:45 to 16:15, and they offer me a discount for the inconvenience. I was annoyed but accepted the offer. At 15:30 I call them again to make sure they're gonna make it by 16:15 (and again as I'm not calls from their side) and am told that they will be at my house by 6pm!! At this point, going from 11:30 to 3pm to 6pm in just 24 hours, I didn't believe a word they said and cancelled the move with them to find movers that will still do it on the same day and not waste my time for nothing. Do yourselves a favor and go with movers that can stand by their word. read more

These guys are so great. Some friends of mine moved themselves, but couldn't get their couch through their tiny new door. We called and asked if someone could come out and give us a hand with getting the couch in, since movers are especially good at that. They sent someone right over to help, and we had to FORCE money onto them for coming out. Tried for 45 minutes and just couldn't get the couch in. But such nice people.
