Hi! We are a small non-profit educational institution in downtown Oakland, California. Recently we have started running basketball and football Programs. They are guided and coached by the famous Gary Dwayne Payton Sr. So we have a lot of new students coming to Lincoln University (LU) and we also provide accommodation. Best moving experience I ever had! From the beginning, Bystroff moving and Steve, the owner was very thorough on contacting me back in a timely manner and scheduling within the same week to accommodate my very sudden move and it was the day before the Fourth of July on a Sunday! The price was fair when I got multiple quotes and honestly what I loved about working with them was the attention to detail and the positive vibes. Moving is stressful and I assure you, with there help it will ease your stress and be worth every dollar! The had a perfect balance between working fast but slowing down when needing to keep delicate items secure and undamaged. They are so hard working I literally asked them to take breaks. They wrapped items to prepare them in the truck and we have so many stairs I was amazed that I never heard one of the movers complain. During the whole process Steve checked in with me to let me know how things were going and they even took lunch a little later to get the truck loaded before going to the new house to unload everything. No scratches, dents or damage at all to the homes or our belongings. I was amazed considering all the stairs we had! Our landlord passed away and his family was pushing us out of the house we rented. We were no where near ready to move and Steve and his team came in and did an amazing job: taking the some of the stress out of a very difficult situation. We found Bystroff Moving Company on Yelp. Steve responded to our request for a quote within 5 minutes. He came out to the house and looked at what had to moved, and he gave us a quote that was competitive. He also explained exactly how he would get us moved from Oakland to Vallejo and how long the process would take. On moving day Steve and his team worked hard and fast. They wrapped and packed our stuff with care and they also made sure that no damage was done to the property during the move. I hired (Steve) Bystroff Moving to do a LONG DISTANCE move from San Francisco to Seattle. Bottom line: I could not have had a better experience or received better service. In the end, I consider Steve a friend and would do business with him again, any day. TRUSTWORTHY From my first conversation with Steve he was able to establish trust. It was clear from the beginning that he wanted to work with me to create something that was going to serve both of us, and that was why I ultimately hired him. When I first called Steve/Bystroff it was like a sense of relief in comparison to having so conversations with countless other moving companies that spanned the spectrum from difficult to abusive (no follow up, confusion, etc. - and one guy who berated me when I asked about some negative reviews I found). Coordinating with Steve was like talking to a partner. He promptly responded all my calls and texts and was proactive, attentive and flexible through the whole process. Steve and his 2-man crew showed up on time, had everything in the truck in 1 hour. Everything was wrapped and packed perfectly in the truck. They moved things safely in the space. No damage done to property or my belongings on either end. They were respectful of me, my space, and COVID considerations. Friendly and pleasant energy all around. FLEXIBLE & ACCOMMODATING My particular situation included many unusual characteristics, some known and others unanticipated: - I wasn't moving a standard amount of stuff. I was living in a partially furnished rental and had a bed, tandem bike, two other bikes, an office desk and some other random household stuff and tools and clothes. Many other moving companies weren't able to fit me in one of their "boxes" (1 bedroom apartment, 2 bedroom apartment, etc.) and meet my needs. With Steve/Bystroff this wasn't even an issue. He gave me two different estimates that allowed me to choose between a longer delivery time with a shared truck (lower price) or short delivery time with my own truck (more expensive). - My father-in-law passed away 3 days before we were scheduled to move and I had to reschedule everything with Steve. He was able to make it all work in the exact timeframe I needed in quick order. Again, I felt like it was friend who was trying to whatever they could to make sure I got what I needed. - We had driven our car to SF and had to drive back to Seattle. Because my husband is disabled, our travel plan made it so I was not going to be in Seattle to receive the moving truck when it arrived. Steve and Sam (the truck driver) stayed connected by text with me and my neighbor. They kept us posted on their arrival so my neighbor could get them in the house and handle everything without me there. I gave both Steve/Sam and my neighbor instructions on what to do with the unloading and everything was handled impeccably. - Long story, but I happened to buy a bed in SF and moved it back to Seattle to replace the bed I had. They professionally packed up and wrapped the old bed and helped me move it into the garage for a friend to pick up before moving my new bed in. I can't explain what a delight that was both for me and the friend taking the bed. It was fully protected in transport. IN SUMMARY Everyone says moving is a very stressful experience on it's own, neverminded trying to move 5 days after getting back from my father-in-law's funeral across the country during Covid with a disabled husband. They offered the best price out of all the competing offers, and on top of this they offered a moving truck that was used only for my move. All other companies would've have placed my items in a truck with another remover coming to Seattle, and the only other company that offered a single truck was literally double their price. In addition, while other companies were giving me 7-10 day time windows for when I could expect my items to arrive (which is a real pain when you need to reserve a loading dock) we were able to arrange an exact day and 4 hour time window for arrival which was a huge weight off my shoulders. When moving me into Seattle, after unloading everything they also helped with some extra tasks such as setting up my tv on the stand and moving an old dresser to the dumpster - all at no extra cost. Excellent movers! I have moved many times before and this is the first time that it was pretty much stress-free. They were on time, efficient, and really careful with my belongings. They wrapped all my furniture and artwork really well with plastic wrap and then wrapped them once more with blankets during transport! I have never seen any other movers wrap my fragile and expensive stuff that way. They disassembled everything to make sure that they could be transported properly. I am really amazed by their professionalism. I can see that they have done this many many times! They are courteous and really work hard to make sure that they don't scratch anything, including the walls in the unit I am moving to. We hired Bystroff for 2BR/1.5BA two story condo move from SF to Mountain View and could not have been more pleased with the efficiency, professionalism, and care that went into their work! From the start, Steve promptly responded to our inquiry and set a great precedent. Insanely great moving company. The owner and a senior employee is there for the move and they really care about quality. The packing service had an extreme level of care: every box label, every single piece wrapped in plastic or paper then wrapped in a blanket then taped, plants careful situated with extra support, lose items held in place with paper wrapping, and more...They taught me things about great packing. The move itself had an additional level of excellence with every corner wrapped, floors covered, boxes organized, and more... I had them move some HUGE furniture in a couple tight corners and up + down several flights of stairs. They did it all and didnt appear to even break a sweat! The men he has are wholeclass workers and people. I really enjoyed hanging out with them as much as I did the stellar results of the move! This little company is secretly the best movers in sf! Yesterday was our big move to our new home! Crew #3 did an outstanding job! They arrived on time and really took the time to understand the needs of my move. They took the time to wrap, protect and move boxes and furniture to ensure there was no damage. They also went above and beyond and moved big bulky items out to the street so we didn't have to later. The quote and final cost of the job was reasonable. We moved from a 3 bdrm 2 bath apartment aprox 800 sq ft into a 1730 single story home and the move was roughly 45 mins to an hour drive. The original quote was about $1,800 cash or $1,900 credit, the actual cost came in lower, which as a new homeowner I appreciated. The final cost came to roughly $1,600 and with tip totaled $1,800. Working with Steven Bystroff was amazing! My husband and I can't say enough good things about this company. We had a very challenging move and Bystroff pulled it off impeccably. We moved all the contents of our large home in California (where we had lived for 38 years) across the country to South Carolina. It was a huge job and Steven cared about every detail. It included moving a high quality baby grand piano and the contents of a wood-working shop, along with all the usual contents of a home -- including probably 100 boxes of books. Bystroff moving is impeccable about their work. They put runners down on the floor, and padding on the wall edges to protect the property. Their packing and wrapping of furniture is super well done. Their drivers are amazing. The entire team was very experienced. Steven supervised the moving of the piano with true expertise and had a special sled for moving the piano body. Steven cared so much about the quality of the job that he flew out to South Carolina in order to hire movers that he thought were good enough -- and he made sure they did a good job. (By the way, the team in California included 9 men and the team for the delivery included 6 men). It was a huge job (the final move-out day took 13 hours and move-in day 9!) and Steven really truly cares about the quality of the work. Finally, the team was so polite and hardworking!! We even became friends with some of them and would be happy to have them visit us in the future. Working with Bystroff Moving is a pure joy. Truly worth every penny! Pricewise, Bystroff is very fair. We got 4 quotes. Two were from larger companies that didn't come see the job in person (only did it over Zoom) and underbid by a huge amount. But they had bad reviews and the comments online said they did bait-and-switch. The third quote was slightly higher than Bystroff's. But in the end, we actually didn't pick Bystroff because his price was a bit lower. It was because, after meeting him, we trusted him completely and knew he understood us and our job. Hired this company to help me from from a 2bed 2bath condo to a 3 story house. I had already did most of the packing(things into boxes) except the furniture. Their rate was competitive compared to other companies and they didn't have any extra fees. A team of 3guys arrived with their own (huge) truck. Initially they were moving fast loading up all the boxes. I did leave them by themselves, thinking I could be productive in getting to the new home and start unpacking- I assumed they would only be a few more hours to load up my furniture (including washer/dryer, queen size mattress and frame, and peloton bike!). After leaving them for 3 hours, they still hadn't arrived so I called the head guy, Stephen, to see their eta. He said it would still be another hour or two. By this time, I am like what is taking so long? Finally they arrived 5hours later. (Start time 955a, arrived at new location, 4pm)I questioned the amount of time it took for them to pack up the rest of my condo. He said it took time to wrap the furniture. He then stated that they needed to take a lunch break (which I understand) but I just keep thinking about the time (since I was paying them by the hour). Once the lunch break was over, they started to unload and then felt like a butthead cause they literally professionally wrapped each item of furniture (even my crappy pieces). Nothing was damaged or scratched in the move. So after apologizing for my impatience's I thanked them for their hard work not realizing the amount of work they were actually doing.
