We have been coming here monthly for the past couple of years (year-round locals) and honestly can say this is one of our favorite spots year-round. What they have transformed this place into is something special and truly gives you the cape cod vibe. Food was great and the drinks were fantastic. The Mudslides here are top 3 on cape in my family's opinion. What makes this place great is the staff and management. You can tell they enjoy working with each other and want to have a good time while working hard! We were lucky enough to meet matt and rob throughout the years and props to them. Getting to know them and knowing they are also on the management side of it while still working the floor show how much they care about the people that come in here and the building itself. I am sure they don't get enough credit that they truly deserve in this industry, so I do hope the owners see this, so they know that their managers are professional but also give the best service Falmouth has to offer. We hope that never changes. Shipwrecked is our home away from home but wouldn't feel this way if they didn't have the staff they have. You the bomb crew! read more

NEVER, EVER, EVER AGAIN My wife and I ate there once for appetizers when the establishment fist reopened. We were not entirely impressed with the food or service, but figured since they were just getting their feet on the ground they were worth checking out again. We went there the other night and ordered a beer and a glass of wine while we perused the menu. After about 15 minutes, I left the table to use the Men's Room. What I witnessed was right out of a Seinfeld episode. A man who appeared to be a kitchen staff entered the Men's Room just water me, and proceeded to one of the stalls. I took a call while I was washing my hands, and therefore was there longer than planned. What I saw when the staff member exited the stall will NEVER leave my memory. He walked by me, straight to the exit door, NEVER stopping at the sink. I followed him out and watched him return to the kitchen. I was absolutely sickened. I returned to the table, told my wife to get her jacket on, left money for the drinks, and walked out as quickly as possible. We will never ever return to this place again. One of the worst experiences I have very had at a restaurant. My partner and I had often frequented the BBC, which was the same location as the current restaurant renamed Shipwrecked. Having always enjoyed our meals at the BBC, we decided to give this new place a try when w arrived back in Falmouth from the Vineyard. To start with, the waitress seems very aloof inn taking our orders, and was unable to answer basic questions about the menu. We decided to keep our orders simple, and 40 minutes later our food arrived room temp cold. I asked the waitress why the king wait if the food was served cold, and she gave me some excuse that the kitchen staff was backed up If that was the case, then why cold food? We left the appropriate amount for the 2 sandwiches, and walked out, never to return. This place is an embarrassment to the Cape Cod dining industry. read more

Horrible horrible staff! Supported by a horrible manager. To openly mock and laugh at a guest with your staff after they raise a valid concern is unacceptable. To mock a guest period is unacceptable. No wonder why the staff has no issues treating guests like crap, the manager supports it and eggs it on. The restaurant itself was dirty needed spot sweeping and counters, wall ledges were sticky. Host was unbelievably rude. Rest of staff was just as bad . The only person I encountered that was somewhat nice was security at the door. You know its one thing to screw over the one time and done tourist but you shouldn't do that to your year round residents that are going to keep you afloat 10mths out of the year. Was sad when the BBC moved out, but they took a dive during the pandemic. Very very happy Shipwrecked moved in, and that they retained much of the staff. Really good food for the price and the amount you get. Reduced beer list, but I'll take the huge fish portion in the tacos over that. Chowder is super tasty. Burgers are really good. Servers are awesome. The sushi is actually some of the cleanest and freshest I've had, especially compared to what's barely available on Cape, but definitely rivals any big city. Easily the best price value vs food quality/quantity around. Very family friendly, and the new floor to ceiling windows are amazing! read more

Went in a couple weeks ago on a Tuesday night not knowing it was a trivia night. Place was busy but staff did a great job of being attentive and helpful in getting us a seat! We sat at a barrel then moved over to the bar. Had great food and drinks while playing a little trivia. Exactly what me and my wife needed after a long winter. One of our female bartenders was training she said (couldn't remember her name) but job well done! She was great and was super friendly. Got exactly what we needed, and everything was tasty! Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular hamburger and wow... there are no words. A classic burger done right. Crisp bun juicy patty, stuffed with all the essentials (ketchup, shredded lettuce, tomato, and pickles). There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall full of specials, so it can get a little overwhelming, but you really can't go wrong. They recently renovated even more the interior to look and feel more lively. For those who went to the BBC prior to Shipwrecked -- the natural light inside is now much much better. A Falmouth vibe with new decor that matches the local area. Plenty of TV's and great outdoor seating for the Summer that looks out on the Heights Beach. The girl that helped our busy table was shadowing as a newbie, but you would have never known because she handled everything like a veteran. Highly recommend checking out Shipwrecked. The whole situation was handled poorly and just made everything way more frustrating than it needed to be. No one really seemed to know what was going on or how to handle things. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disappointment, especially considering our bill was approximately $225. One of the biggest issues was the lack of attentiveness from our waiter. At one point, I needed a fork to eat my meal. One of my guests was heading to the restroom and specifically told our waiter that I needed a fork. I waited approximately five minutes, giving him more than enough time to bring one over. Instead, he continued having a conversation with another employee while I sat at the table unable to properly eat my meal. Eventually, I had to get up from my own birthday dinner and find a fork myself. Only after I got up did someone attempt to assist me with the utensil. Then, at approximately 9:35 PM, our waiter brought the bill to the table even though no one had asked for the check. I found this especially off-putting because this was clearly a birthday celebration, and we had not indicated that we were finished. We weren't even given the opportunity to order dessert or continue celebrating. The waiter had also mentioned that his shift didn't end until around 11 PM, making me even more confused as to why we were essentially being rushed out more than an hour beforehand. When I paid the approximately $225 bill, I left a $15 tip and wrote a note explaining why. I normally tip more than 20%, particularly when I receive good service, but I did not believe the service that evening justified that amount. What happened afterward was what truly ruined the experience. After seeing the tip and my note, the waiter came back to our table and confronted us about it. He raised his voice and argued that we should not have given him the tip we gave him because he believed he had provided good service. When I attempted to explain the problems we experienced, he put his hand up toward me, said that he didn't want to hear it, and walked away. That was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. A customer should never be confronted or yelled at because an employee disagrees with the amount of a discretionary tip especially after the customer has already explained the service issues. I understand that this waiter was relatively new and had only been working at the restaurant for approximately six weeks. I can absolutely give someone grace for being new. What I cannot excuse is confronting a customer over a tip, refusing to listen to their concerns, and walking away dismissively. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I was a returning customer. I have recommended emBargo to friends, colleagues in banking, investors, and other people in my professional network because of my previous experiences here. Unfortunately, after the way my birthday celebration was handled, I can no longer comfortably recommend this restaurant. I specifically chose emBargo for a special occasion. Instead of leaving with a great birthday memory, I left feeling rushed, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend emBargo for birthdays or other special celebrations unless management addresses how situations like this are handled.
