Shirley's has the best rolls known to human kind. They are light, fluffy, moist, and buttery. These are NOT your uncle's rolls that morph into roll resembling rocks the next day. You must order weeks in advance for holidays and don't anticipate just going and picking them up, but 1000 percent worth it. Besides the glorious rolls, they also have sweet rolls from traditional cinnamon to raspberry, orange, and other flavors. Ok, now I feel like I need to go back and get some of those too. I LOVE Shirley's! They are one of the best bakeries in Utah. My favorites are the chocolate eclairs and the raspberry/blueberry rolls! I have been coming here for years and they are the same delicious recipes and still so good! They even have good soup, salad and sandwiches for lunch or dinner. I've been coming here for years and I've never left a review! So first off, let's talk about the cinnamon rolls. How have people never had Shirley's cinnamon rolls? These things are like crack! I see people grabbing the regular frosted and just shake my head. Have they never had the cream cheese frosting before? Are they haters of the cream cheese? Other people have also discovered the secret of their rolls because if you don't show up early you might miss out! Sure there are other flavors like blueberry or lemon or even raspberry (no thanks) to get, but why ruin something as pure as the classic cinnamon roll? They have a whole partition dedicated to just cinnamon rolls! Here's a secret about the place, they make the mint brownies that BYU sells in the student center. That's right, they make them here. If it's BYU approved that probably says something about this place (for all you believers.) There is a cooler case filled with other goodies like cookies and cream filled pastries and slices of cake. I guarantee you that there's is something for everyone here. They do lunch items like daily soups, a variety of sandwiches on their own homemade bread and some salads. Take it to go or sit inside at one of the many tables and enjoy. They open early and close pretty late considering it's a bakery. So you can chow down anytime. You could even make it a date destination. They also do orders if you needed something like a few dozen rolls for an event. This place is a must visit. read more

We are here 2-3 years ago and we were blown away by the dinner rolls. I listened to my hubby and left without buying any sweet rolls. I have regretted that decision ever since. Well we were headed north and I told hubby we were stopping. It was a little early for lunch but we went in and bought a 12 roll variety pack. Blueberry, orange, cinnamon, and raspberry. We got the cream cheese frosting option. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I don't know how they make the rolls so soft yet chewy. We ate them over a 3 day period. They didn't get dry at all. Originally came here for scones but informed "not " any more so....after watching other customers walk out with literally dozens of white rolls, I fell for it. No regrets on texture and price. Then on to the cinnamon rolls. For 2 of us, the 4 pack was perfect and actually 2 were still good a a few days later (they r big!) The icing on top did not melt. Darn good. My friends and I were looking for a quick bite. We were staying in Pravo for just the night. The place is really cute and I love all the kitchen decor. I ordered a BLT and the sandwich was so good that I forgot to take a picture. If you love bacon, the is a BBLT (Bacon Bacon Lettuce Tomato). It was served on soft white bread, it was delicious. The pastries were wonderful. The sweet rolls are soft and soft the frosting was just right. Plus there are different flavors. Everything is freshly made. Of you are looking for a really quick bite, try the grab and go. Ham and swiss on a dinner roll and toasted. So yummy! I ever stop by Pravo again, this is a must. read more

This place just makes me happy going in! It's a bakery for real. There is nothing frozen or shipped into this place. I would guess that 2/3 of the building is a kitchen with all manner of baking implements. The bread, rolls, butter flake, danishes, scones, croissants are just fluffy and magical. I cannot stress this enough. If you like bread you need to be at this place. The inside is quint with country decor and a little fireplace with a couple leather chairs to sit in front of it that is a delightful touch. They evidently make orders for hundreds of families as well as just the individual treats because you see it all on racks inside. This place is legit. Three days in a row Shirley's messed up our orders. I love Shirley's! But c'mon. Put in a phone order, go in a pay for it, a day early,go to pick it up on New Year's Eve, NO EVIDENCE I EVER ORDERED IT! I show receipt, they refund $$ but too late to get dessert for New Year's Eve Lunch day before, 45 min to get 4 sandwiches (dressing on the side) after 45 min. ALL 4 made with dressing! The reason we ordered that way they ALWAYS screw it up! So we graciously say we can just take them that way, In fairness they offered us free sweet rolls, but an hour later we walk out with $50 of food thats WRONG! Who answers their phone & then loses the orders? Is there a process in place????? So sad to see a good business go downhill so quickly! read more

Our first time going here was awesome. Their bakery section was so cute and the variety of cinnamon rolls was endless. We got half vanilla and half raspberry and they were so fresh and yummy! After tasting the eclairs at a wedding party for my cute bride, I really went out of my way /comfort zone/common sense .. ordered these for our reception.. an hour away. I had one of employees pick them up the morning of the wedding along with some brownies. I couldn't believe I was not leaving this for a caterer to handle, but I crossed my fingers. They arrived to the house- I pre-ordered and pre-paid for brownies by the half sheet so they could be cut and placed in dessert cups. When I paid for my order they understood it was for a wedding reception, they didn't offer a delivery service even though it's quite a large order and instead of preparing half sheets that were ordered and paid for, they sent quarter sheets which makes it harder to cut portions (too many crusts). The lids on the quarter sheets are also not as tall as the half sheets so when they stacked them, it's smashed the frosting. I called and asked why they sent the quarter sheets and they told me they had sold the half sheets that I had ordered. We spent $700, prepaid for the order, paid somebody to pick it up an hour away on the day of the wedding.. what part of wedding doesn't register in your brain? Pls Don't promote catering and weddings if you are unable to manage it. Didn't have an issue with the eclairs... they were to die for. read more

If you are within a 100 miles of Shirley's you should stop in! The baked goods are heavenly, I'm a bread maker and very critical of baked goods, but Shirley's can't be beat. The sandwiches are beautifully crafted, the chicken rice soup I think was the best I've ever tasted. The chicken salad was also amazing. I wish we had a beautiful place like Shirley's here in central Oregon. The service was good also, friendly and competent. read more

Not sure what has happened to Shirley's Bakery since the kids have taken over, but there's been some not-so-good changes. One is as follows: I ordered 2 pumpkin loaves with Cream Cheese Frosting. They were both gifts. I have ordered them in the past as they used to be quite elegant gifts to give. When I picked these up I was shocked to see that the loaves themselves were much larger and heavier and when the frosting was added and the lid closed, all the cream cheese was smeared and smashed down over the loaf and into the corners. Then someone printed "pumpkin loaf with cream cheese" with a black felt tip pen on the lid with kind of awkward printing. The attractive Shirley's sticker which used to appear on the top (and made it look quite elegant) was now stuck on the side to hold the lid closed as the loaf was really just too large for the container. I was present when one of these gift loaves was opened. I was so embarrassed. It was difficult to even lift the top up because it was completely stuck to the frosting. When we did get it lifted up, it took most all of the frosting off the top of the loaf with even some bits of the loaf. This all took place at the dinner table. It was a mess! We then had to struggle to get the loaf out of the container so it could be sliced. It was just an unappetizing jumble. I will not ever be purchasing this item again! Not for myself and certainly not for a gift! It didn't even seem to taste as good as when it was likely a different recipe that produced a loaf the proper size for the plastic container. They used to always look really elegant! We've always favored Shirley's pumpkin loaves over those that Kneader's make; however, after this experience I won't purchase this from Shirley's again. I'm back to Kneader's pumpkin loaves which have an appealing presentation and a great taste. Just thought someone at Shirley's might like to know at least one opinion. read more

This place is a local favorite. Many organizations order from Shirley's for breakfast. If you could get your hands on a Shirley's sweet roll, you can die happy because you're halfway there at that point. It's that good. There are many fruit flavors you can choose from, my favorites are the raspberry and lemon. With that said, I've only had the rolls. Shirleys has some of the best sweet rolls around. I especially love their raspberry and orange rolls they are an instant hit if you bring them to family functions. I recently went in and had lunch for the first time and have been back for a second time now. Loved the bread bowl and the panini was good too. Definitely a great light and healthy option. read more

SHIRLEYS needs two reviews. One for the cinnamon rolls which are incredible. And a second review for the deli which was not good at all. We came at lunch and it was incredibly slow. I got the ham and cheese sandwhich which was swimming I mean swimming in mustard. I couldn't even hold the sandwich as the mustard worked through the bread. Not good. I could only tolerate half of it. So I will go back for the rolls. But won't eat lunch there again. read more

I normally love the sugar cookies from Shirley's but I when stopped this morning to to buy a sugar cookie kit and got home to discover the cookies were rock hard & the frosting was old & crusty. I couldn't use the kit to decorate with my grandchildren who were in town for the holidays. Very disappointing. read more

The baked goods are very good and fresh. The pumpkin cupcake/bread is nice and moist and the cream cheese frosting is good without being too sweet. The cookies and the cinnamon rolls are very fresh and yummy, too. The rolls are fresh and soft. The tomato bisque is very good and chock full of stuff. The turkey, bacon, avocado is a huge sandwich and I really like the turkey cranberry stuffing sandwich. The decor is very nice, warm, cozy, and welcoming. A small stone fireplace is a cute touch. The employees are nice and friendly. It is very clean. It also appears to be very popular, as I noticed crowds in not so peak times. Service was pretty quick on my visits. They appear to have a lot of bakery items in large packages to-go and other honeys, jams, etc to take home or for gifts and even a little station where you can get packaging and ribbons to gift wrap your purchase for a little extra $. The one thing I would add would be a pepper grinder on the table. It may just not be that common in this area. I will definitely come back when in town to try more of the menu. read more

One of the best places to eat. Their food is all made fresh. Had the corn chowder for dinner one night and it was delicious! The following morning we went back for breakfast. They have a small selection of breakfast items but the items they do have are beyond delicious. I had the grab and go ham and cheese rolls and a cinnamon knot... affordable and delicious. Went to drive-through window on Wednesday, 11/18/20 at 8 AM; informed they were already out, and that I should be there by 7 AM the next day. Arrived at the drive-through order station at 6:40 AM the next day, 11/19/20; noticed that there were a few cars with people inside waiting, but no line at the door. At 7 AM I heard a faint "can I help you?" I asked for 2 doz. Parker House; heard nothing for the next 10 minutes, despite repeated "hello and are you there" shouts. Finally drove up to the window and called Shirley's on my cell phone. An attendant came to the window and informed me that they were not serving at the drive-through. Although I explained that I had been told the day before to arrive by 7 AM, and that I had been waiting since 6:40 AM, THEY REFUSED TO SERVE ME. Explanation: not fair to people who had been waiting in line since 6 AM, even though I informed them that there was no line at the door when I arrived at 6:40 AM. TOTAL REFUSAL TO SERVE ME. I suggested that they should put a sign out to inform customers there was no service at the drive-through; attendant said, "yes, I forgot to put it out, but sorry, I CAN'T GIVE YOU SERVICE." TOTAL REFUSAL TO SERVE ME! I'M 86 YEARS OLD; HIGH RISK FOR CORONAVIRUS; NOT ABLE TO TAKE THE RISK TO GO INSIDE! read more

I LOVE Shirley's. If you're in the mood for a good cinnamon roll, look no further and prepare to get your mind BLOWN. Shirley's is a hip and happening bakery nestled in Provo. They have delicious baked goods, and a great sandwich/salad/soup menu. The chicken, bacon, ranch sandwich is in point! Just please don't go to Shirley's without getting any of their sweet rolls. Try the variety pack if you're feeling adventurous, or stick with classic cinnamon. Their frosting is perfect, and the rolls are literally heaven on earth. My second favorite is probably blueberry, surprisingly enough. I was a little disappointed, however, when I stopped in on a Saturday evening. Went in to get some sweet rolls for the night/following morning and they were completely out. Serves me right waiting for Saturday evening. Went for my chicken, bacon, ranch sandwich and they were out of bacon. That was a bit of a bummer, but one should know that a bakery won't have a ton of goods right before closing time, especially when they're closed the next day. I really like Shirley's, the service is always polite and cheerful, if a bit on the slow side. They have good sandwiches, I particularly like the Grown Up Grilled Cheese, but I have to shout out the egg salad too because most places that do egg salad get it SO wrong and it's a horror show but Shirley's egg salad is actually not bad. The baked goods are decent, their sweet rolls are great and the brownies are good but the cookies are much too dry, unless you want to feel like you're eating cookie flavored dust, it'd skip those. Shirley's is just up the street from my vet's office so now whenever we have to go to the vet, the dogs have learned that if they're good while they're there, we'll stop at the drive through and get a sandwich for me and a side of turkey for them. The drive through worker always puts the extra turkey in a little to go cup for them and they're always very excited to see the dogs. read more
