The restaurant was busy and you could tell there were some regulars, but the service was still efficient. Overall, it's a light bright spot with a homey feel. The Italian Avocado Toast was excellent. A generous portion, bread toasted well, eggs cooked perfectly, and some delicious fresh basil on top. They also have a selection of raw juices for anyone looking for a health-conscious choice. Seasonal menu changes- it screws me up every time bc there are too many good options and I have difficulty choosing just one. Obviously, coffee is local and delicious. Any toast/muffin that comes with a meal is always homemade, or from a local bakery. Staff is always super friendly and very attentive. I placed my order in person bc I ask most places to use my de-seeded hot dried peppers so that I can enjoy hot Gen Tso chicken yet not get intestinal issues from hot indigestible seeds. ( fussy, I know, but I love the scorched taste of those peppers that's irreplaceable). I explained this to Wendy, the kind woman who's probably the owner bc 2 kids were hanging out occupying themselves, and she said no problem. Wife's chicken with veggies ( but hold the mushrooms) was reported to be excellent: unbreaded chicken, al dente vegetables. " best she's ever had". Brown rice was available, no problem, tasted great, no upcharge. My Gen Tso was also very good, plenty of broccoli but also pineapple, new one to me but was nice to balance the heat. And another smallish thing, I like ketchup on my fries, they provide cheap food service non-branded ketchup which I find bland and runny. Heinz or another top brand would have been perfect. I'd have gladly paid a $1 more for good ketchup. Other than those two things it could have easily been 5 stars.
