I gave Shishi Lounge another chance because they're open earlier than most hookah spots and the experience was a complete mess. I came in at one and tried to order lunch with my hookah, but was told the chef wasn't in until two. At two I tried to order food, but he still wasn't there. I ordered orange and pineapple hookah, but that's not what I got. It tasted like a low quality, general blend that burned quickly. The staff rarely checks up on you and they treat the place as their personal lounge for the World Cup more than a job. Shishi Lounge lures customers in without ever intending to deliver quality service. It's a pathetic excuse for a hookah lounge. read more

Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays they have a DJ, and entertainment, such as belly dancers and fire tossers. They have amazing desserts as well from cheesecake to tiramisu to chocolate cake. The chocolate cake is actually my favorite! It has great flavor. I came here with my friends for lunch and we got this huge $70 platter that is as big as my kitchen table at home. That salmon, chicken, wings, onion rings, lamb, kebab, koobideh, chicken, pita, hummus, Greek yogurt, cucumber, salad, pomegranate yogurt , and so much more! I can't believe this is only $70. On March 13th, my group of six went to Shishi lounge. We ordered some appetizers and both regular and alcoholic drinks. After a bit, a waiter came over and said we'd be charged a hundred bucks if we used our own drinks. We told them we didn't bring any, but they insisted they saw us using our own. We were so mad, we asked them to show us the footage since the camera was right there, but they refused. After all that disrespect, we decided to leave without even finishing our food or drinks. But they still charged us full price. I called them and demanded the footage or my money back. The manager promised a refund, but after many calls, I haven't seen it. On my last call, the manager told me to come get cash, but I refused since I don't want to drive all that way just because they won't refund my original payment method. We wanted to dance and we got up like 3 times and every-time we would be in the dance floor the manager/workers would come and tell us to be seated or they would all of a sudden stop the music. The vibe was off not like a party/lit vibe. Bunch of elder Armenian ppl wanted to play their own music and dance. It felt like it was a personal spot for Armenians. Last night, we decided to try Shishi Lounge for dinner and tea. We called ahead, and a gentleman took our name for a reservation -- no mention was made of any minimum spend requirement. Upon arrival, the hostess seated us, but then our server informed us of a $60 per person minimum. My brother explained that we had called earlier and weren't informed of this policy. The server then said he would make an "exception" for us, which already made the situation feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. My brother, trying to keep things polite, mentioned that only 2 or 3 of us (out of 5) planned to eat, and the rest would order tea and appetizers. He even asked if we should just leave. The server responded with, "Don't worry, I know my job -- I'll make it work." So we decided to stay. We ordered a soltani, a combo appetizer plate, some drinks, and tea. However, we were charged for a lemon tea we never ordered. At that point, we were too drained to argue over a small charge, so we paid the bill and left after about an hour and a half. As for the food:     *    Appetizers were below average     *    Soltani was just okay -- nothing memorable Overall, our first visit felt uncomfortable, and the lack of transparency, average food quality, and questionable service left a poor impression. You want to spend your money at places where your business is appreciated and you're treated with respect and served quality food. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case here. This place is an extremely overrated place that charges prices like they're a Hollywood hotspot. The service is painfully slow. It took them over 2 hours to bring our first drink and food!!! It was a struggle to catch the waitress's attention. After 30 minutes of being seated she finally came over to take our order- But it still took another 2 hours to get anything. They have dancers that come out periodically and if we had at least been served our drinks maybe we would enjoy the entertainment. We've been coming here as an annual tradition since 2021 and have loved this place! Great food, good hookah, fast service. But last night we went to celebrate my friend's birthday(on a Saturday night) and it was a completely different story. Our food was almost an hour and a half late (we only ordered 3 hummus+pita bread, 1 order of fries, 7 "black" teas, and one hookah for the table) and somehow they ran out of water so we had to buy 45 dollars worth of Fiji water. The fastest thing they brought us was the check, which came out to $250. I don't know what happened but this is definitely not the place we knew. This was my go-to spot back in the day (5+ years ago). Prices were good, service was great, and hookah was awesome! That's when they were downstairs and it was more of a Persian vibe. Now that they've moved upstairs, everything has dropped in quality!! Came here on a rainy Wednesday night and there was only one group besides the owner sitting there. We wanted something different our usual spots like Mazar or the Spot but that wasn't the best choice. Hookah 2/5 Ordered blueberry/mint.. didn't taste the blueberry or mint since the start. After less than an hour, all I tasted was burnt tobacco. They had to put the head on a different hookah which made it better but it still sucked!! For $27, after all these years being in business, it's disappointing that they couldn't pack a hookah that would last more than an hour! Service 3/5 Everyone does everything. We didn't know anyone's name and it was hard to call them over at times. After an hour when we let them know the hookah is burnt, the gentleman said that we need to get a refill that's $14. They did bring out a heater as soon as we were seated though which was nice. Ambiance 2.5/5 I loved what they had downstairs.. now, the place is so dark and although I appreciate the lounge seating because it's a lot more chill & comfortable than a traditional table, it just wasn't working for us. They had a line of comedians performing tonight and none of them were that funny. It was all so disorganized & sloppy + they really didn't know their audience... Price 4/5 $27 for a below average hookah. I've had $25 hookah better than this & $35 way better than this! Overall Save your $$ and go to Mazar or the spot where you'll receive excellent, consistent service with great hookah & food! Forgot to mention that as soon as a few more groups showed up, they would just come to our table and grab a menu to give to them without asking or anything! This place is the perfect lounge atmosphere. Very Arabic nights vibe, completely felt like I was in the Dubai desert's. The hookah was very tasty and lasted a long time. Now for the food, I wasn't expecting the food to be as tasty as it was! Salmon was very moist and full of flavor. The chipotle chicken sandwich was very cheesy and fulfilling, and their Greek salad was very juicy. I love a good juicy salad with lots of zesty flavors. Overall this place was awesome. Talk about price gauging! We had reservations for two weeks. When we got here (after the fires) for our friend's birthday, miraculously, there is a $25 cover charge. Really! This is Encino! lol the guy at the door said it was an event they found out the day of our reservations. Regardless, I confirmed my reservations the day before and he said nothing about the cover charge. Place was not even near full. And the so called $25 cover event was two belly dancers! Really!?? It's a Mediterranean lounge, that's a given! We asked for mixed drinks, they came back with shots in plastic cups instead because they weren't mixing drinks anymore!
