I tried this place three times and definitely my best place in the Encino area. If you feel nostalgic, Want to go back in memory to the old days when you used to go to a restaurant in the Middle East with a belly dancer and singer than this is a must... The waiters and waitresses there are just phenomenal. Their singers are New generation with a very traditional songs, ones that we all grew up with.. Best hookah ever !! And the best quail dish You will ever have with a side of turnip pickles.. Ok I am a a big fan I know .. I love this place

Grossly sour hummus with store bought pita.
    Cass F.

My rating is based on a delivery order through a third party app. The restaurant listed items they didn't have available, so in the end I only received hummus? It was honestly pretty comical, they also threw in a bag of pita straight from the store. By far one of the most disappointing 'meals' I've ever ordered. Did I mention the hummus was nasty? Ah well, ya live and ya learn. But for your future learning experiences, I'd like to guide you away from this restaurant.

I had to use a knife to cut it (didn't get an extra knife so I used my dinner knife) and it wasn't easy to cut. It's also a bit absurd that this cost $13, too. I also never got my glass of water until my plate was out, and even though I was the only customer, the waitress wasn't around other than to take my order.

Brick walls, a few portraits and some jazz music make up the little ambiance. The kitchen is easily visible as well. Overall it has a cozy friendly setting with a low key, comfortable, unpretentious vibe. There is a shared small parking lot besides any street parking. The menu features a nice selection with Lebanese classics included. I have yet to expand on my choices really but plan to. I've been continuously ordering the chicken and beef shawarmas which are both excellent in taste and portion; both are served with rice, hummus and salad. The house pickled items served on the table are a treat and add to the tastes. Prices on somethings seem a little high but otherwise are fine.

I prefer pita sandwiches that are cut open and stuffed, rather than rolled up like a burrito the way they do here; the latter compresses everything together into a mush and can drip the contents out the back end, which is exactly what happened when I tried eating this one. This would matter less if the felafel were really good, but these were almost completely tasteless and mushy, no nice crisp exterior. In fact, they were falling apart as I was eating. The hummus was okay. Not bad, but nothing special. And the pita bread they included with it was cold, not warm and fresh. Maybe there are other items on the menu that justify the five star reviews. But the felafel and hummus certainly do not, and I'm not sure I'd want to experiment further.

During a weekday lunch, you'll hear English, Arabic, Armenian, and Hebrew all being spoken in the same dining room. It's a reminder that good food has a way of bringing people from all walks of life together. I wish the world mirrored this environment. The only thing I miss is the original décor. Before the remodel, the walls were decorated with beautiful photographs of Lebanon that gave the restaurant so much character. The updated space is clean, but it feels a little plain in comparison. If you're visiting on a weekend, expect a wait because this place is popular. Be sure to save room for the homemade baklava. On top of that, their serving dishes are massive and the service staff is unaware how to put the dishes on the table because the table is so small. There were only 2 people waiting tables which caused for a lot of frustration from the staff. They also rarely stopped by our table to clear out plates which again we needed some plates gone because tables were so small.
